The theories were covered online, the modules could be done at your own pace and then book in person practice test and final exam. The class had only 10 students due to covid restrictions. Our instructor was Tim and he was great. Had lot of practice with mannequins for CPR and AED ( had two for both adult/child and infant). The class was one whole day ( from 8am to 5pm) and the end of the class, there is 80 questions( multiple choices). You have to get 75%.

The first impression was it's expensive compared to other tutors. They do have mandatory reporting after every session, which is great, and the tutors are qualified. My son has been in Oxford, Kumon, and other private tutors over the last 5 years, and he said they were not near as good as the tutor he has here. When I went in for the initial meeting (very long process), everything seemed great until it was time to sign up. They force a buy this now or else type of pushy sales tactic, and when I suggested I only wanted 1 day a week, not two, he told me I was not serious, and I should not bother going. They wanted the $1140 for the month upfront right then and there. He kept at the reviews how they have over 500 5 star reviews, and it's worth it and to read them (they have them playing on the screen). I get it's a business but... If it weren't for my son having 3 tests in two weeks, I would have walked out, but I pushed aside my thoughts and said I would give it two weeks because we had no other options at the time and the other tutors I've met did not seem that good. We agreed on paying $570 for two weeks and I would re-evaluate before the last session. His tests are complete and marked. Going the two weeks did help a lot. He bumped up his grade from 43% to 75% and has all the fundamentals down and is confident now. In the end, am I glad I paid the amount and went with them- yes. He was struggling, and his tutor has helped him a lot. He does like it there and wants to continue 1 day per week. Do I wish they would change how they sell and pressure people in the moment - yes. They should also not require a positive review in exchange for the $20 as that is like buying fake 5-star reviews. Let us give honest reviews if your business is excellent; the reviews will be too. Hopefully, this gives some insights to help others, and I hope they fix some of the negatives for future customers. If it weren't for the sales tactics I would give it 5 stars.

The majority of the classes in October involved having the kids sing along to a CD. There were a few other activities such as colouring, but we can listen to CDs at home and sing along with them without having to pay for it. The regular teacher does try a little more, however, the class size is so small, last week there was only my son in the class and that didn't give him the group experience I'm paying for. The first class was held in a nice studio room large enough to accommodate the group. However, they rented the room to another teacher for the same time slot, and therefore had to move the class to the foyer of their office. The kids would sit on the floor at the entrance - not even carpeted. It is a substandard place to hold music classes for toddlers. My feeling is they are more concerned about their bottom line than providing a quality environment for music education.

He got called away last minute, so I had to call and get a booking switched around to a different foreman instead. The course was to be the next day and I know there is a 72 hour policy, but they were accommodating and seemed to understand and helped me out. Impressed, I decided to book a group of my workers in there 2 weeks later. Being in construction, getting last minute requests can happen a lot in this industry and yet again one of them was called away but this time there was a good amount of days between classes, being Friday and the course was on Monday. This time I was completely shut down on my request and now that money is wasted. I understand it was approx 68 hours before the course this time but the girl proceeded to tell me maybe someone "made an exception that day" but they wouldn't do anything this time, even though I booked more people than last time. There is something to be said for return business in the training industry and the complete rigidity here is a total shame, as construction companies often look for good training centres and stick with them, once they find them. This won't be the case with us though, I'll book elsewhere for my workers, moving forward. There were no complaints from my workers on the actual course or instructors, this is simply about customer service.
