Although his price was fair, because I am on a fixed retirement income I could afford only to have the main house done. I was worried that, because the job was pretty small, he would pass on it (it's happened before), especially since a lot of his work is pretty big projects, but he was very understanding and re-wrote the proposal for the main house only, plus he agreed to let me look on to learn how they did the repairs and the materials they used so I could try to do the back house myself later. He used subcontractors for the work but it was a very small and tightly knit crew, and Jeff Bailey was on site several times to make sure everything was going as planned. This was the first impressive thing about J Bailey--even though my job was a small one, it was getting the same level of consideration as his big jobs. The second impressive thing was how communicative everyone was. They texted daily to inform me who would show up when, and what work they would do the next day, and told me in advance the one day they couldn't make it due to weather. When they were here, they described step-by-step what they did. I was never in the dark about anything. About the contractors: Maynor (sorry if sic) patched all the major cracks. He told me what he used, and described what he was doing and what tools I'd need for my back house. He did excellent work, once the paint was on you can't see any trace of the patch jobs. A father-son team, Ed & Brandon, did the initial pressure-washing, most of the minor crack patches (Maynor came back and helped on one day), priming, and painting. Ed did most of the painting. He showed me what to use for patches and how to work it into the cracks. He used top-of-the-line paint, Benjamin Moore, and did a meticulous job, he got into some pretty difficult spaces to get the porch and patio walls. And even though my back door and steps were not in the contract, he painted them anyway with the leftover paint I had the last time I painted them. These guys do a great job for what they're hired to do, and go above & beyond their contracted responsibilities to make sure the job is not only right, but the best.

In which I still said that was fine cause your kids are more important than a job. When he showed up he assembled the fireplace and installed the blinds. The table was broken so I had to order another in which I did and was told they'll can easily come back. The owner changed me $750 for the fireplace and blinds. Although I didn't feel comfortable with the price, I still paid it. The next time I called them about whatever else I needed done around my home, he told me he would get the handyman out to my home on Thursday (appt was made before the hurricane) cause that's the soonest he could come out. Then Thursday comes & no handyman. He says he'll send him out Sunday (today) cause he was so busy What do you know? No handyman. I already found another one. I just had to give my experience with this half ass business so they can't lie to another customer. And I don't want anyone else to lose out on money especially if you have someone to do it for a much better price. Just don't take your chances with this family operated business cause if they can't scam or price gouge you, then you won't see them! In the end, you'll feel unsatisfied like I felt!

They removed the old tiles & the paper under the tiles down to the plywood and took away the old gutters also. They were neat and cleaned up at the end of each day. Any bad plywood on the roof was replaced with new wood. They were very thorough and efficient. New tiles were stacked on the roof. No heavy trucks were used on the driveway. No damage to property.
