As newbies, my wife and I fell in love with this place after shopping a couple of other places. We joined annual membership and began taking lessons after trying out a simulator, drinks and interviewing a coach. Overall experiences have been great so far. The highlight of this place is, I think, the professionalism that the owner upholds. What I mean by saying professionalism is that he knows how to meet the needs of patrons, as opposed to pressing on too much or neglecting any requests. After a few visits and joining memberships, he greets us exactly in the same way by saying 'what can I do for you?' whenever we visit the IDG Club Golf & Cafe.

I wish this could be a letter of gratitude and recognition, but sadly, it is not. There was no farewell celebration. No thank-you card. No flowers or kind words to acknowledge the decades he gave to the Club. After three decades of unwavering commitment--missing birthdays, graduations, and countless special moments with family--he walked away without so much as a simple thank you. He showed up through illness, fatigue, and physical pain, always putting the needs of the members first. He remained loyal and hardworking, ensuring an exceptional experience for others, even as he himself was overlooked. It deeply saddens me to see his years of service end in silence. It took me time, and courage, to write this. But I could not let it pass unspoken. No one deserves to be treated this way--especially someone who gave so much, for so long. And yes, I am going to make this go viral :)

At the last day (Sunday) of the Barclays PGA event here, and they spared no expense on the staffing…read morehere (I was a guest of Barclays, fyi). Parking in multiple lots (though the signs sometimes led people astray, too many choices in the jughandles of NJ, I guess). Lots of vendors and sponsors coming in; one down side was a lack of clear bags from the vendors (too much to carry), I wish they'd had a locker system to take advantage of placing things within to safekeep as you walked around the course. The course was beautiful, green, and cool (the weather was perfect), and the grounds crews were bustling (the cart drivers moved too fast - almost did almost run me over twice). The PGA volunteers however were nice and pleasant, including Bill celebrating his 95th birthday! I like the location last year better (hard to beat the views at The Liberty National Course), but the setup was very familiar and perfectly interesting for most of the fans. The driving range was just at the entryway, which was nice, you had to walk past in order to get into the live greens, so good placement there. Had golf lessons all over (Mastercard, Barclays, NJ Golf Association, etc.), and a food truck section that looked mighty delicious with lobster rolls, French Cajun, fried cheese curds and other options not normally found on a golf course. That was a nice touch, in my opinion. The facilities were top-notch if you were near the 18th green. Once you ventured further out, though, the lack of bathrooms was more evident, although plenty of vendors all over. And odd sign flickering issues as they switched from stat to stat at several locations (I blame the electronic sign vendor on that one).

Had to take yellow school buses between the parking lot (by the Garden State Plaza mall) and the club - shuttle bus service is typical for these types of events. Too bad there was no a/c on the buses but it was only a 5 minute ride. Otherwise, a relatively well organized event.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Impressively large space consisting of a variety of arcade games, bowling alley anddddd batting cages! + The Humdingers Cafe is super spacious and has quite a large food menu that includes burgers, pizza, sandwiches, sides, drinks and desserts (ice cream). ++++ There are A LOT of tables and seats in the cafe. + They offer a variety of group packages for birthday parties, company events, special events, school gatherings, etc. + Multiple private party rooms in the back. + Private party we attended was very well organized and there were 2 private party coaches making sure that the party was kept on time for the activities planned. + Large private parking lot outside. THE NOT SO GOOD ----------------------------- - As expected, it's very loud inside with all of the arcade games, so don't expect to be able to have much of a conversation with people. MIXED THOUGHTS ---------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = We came for a birthday party at 3 PM on a June Saturday and it was busy inside, but not overly crowded. The batting cages were occupied, but, once again, not overly so. The bowling alley was pretty much empty, except when our group was in there for 30 minutes.

The food is alight. This is a place that get pretty packed. My experience there was a unique one. I got a game card and loaded it up with $30 to use to play in the arcade. However most of the games weren't working. There were games that looked to be worked but it turns out they weren't. So basically any money I had on my card got eaten up and when I went to customer service they claimed to put it back but when I checked the balance it wasn't true. Perhaps it was the card but it was just a terrible experience. A lot of the people working seemed very inexperienced.

Being a member of a…read moreprivate club in Florida I'm a bit of a golf snob so getting invited to this high end facility was exciting. Arrive to beautiful upstairs club dining room overlooking the magnificent rolling hills tree lined golf club. Two practice putting areas were fast and True. Staff was friendly and helpful. Downstairs grill room has seen better days as the locker room also should get a bit of a makeover with it's 1970's showers. This does not detract from a 5 star golf facility with meticulously manicured tee boxes, fairways, sand traps and greens. Outside cocktail area overlooking the course after the round was the final treat as you certainly have to go a long ways towards topping the golfing portion of this wonderful facility. Tennis courts and pool looked really nice but I didn't not get to partake. All and all a fabulous golf experience.

Very nice facilities and friendly staff showing folks around the course. Nested in the neighborhood and not too far from the local small airport. Over 100 year old, this is a private country club. From their website - A sundial has at the entrance to the clubhouse honors Fuld, a plaque in the entry honors Dimond, and a small garden and rock near the pro shop commemorates Terry Hadash, beloved club general manager who died in 1997. Interestingly, no bacon at breakfast - likely due to their deep Jewish heritage of the membership.

Some of the standouts from the buffet are the cheese board (mozzarella is super tender), taco bar (flavorful ground beef) and the braised beef short ribs (so tender and juicy). Our venue was walled off from the main dining area and we were able to fit 6 round tables, a few small tables near the bar, a dance floor and a DJ stand. They do wedding receptions here too.
