But after today, no more. Whoever the gal was who was working today around noon is a CROOK. The station is always clean, prices are relatively reasonable, and the attendants are usually friendly and professional. Up until now, I've been a regular customer. However, today, while filling up, I asked the young gal working the counter if they can take a $100 bill, and she said yes. I gave her the bill and said I was going to fill up. I got $50 in and went to collect my change, and she had the audacity to deny that I handed her a hundred dollar bill. I very politely tried to deal with her, but she kept denying it. Because we were on a time crunch to attend a memorial service, and because I had grieving individuals in my vehicle, I had to leave and could not resolve the matter right then and there. My only option is to contact the manager of this station this week. I did not get this attendant's name, but she was a blatant THIEF, having the gall to deny the fact that I handed her a $100 bill after I SPECIFICALLY asked her upon entry if they can accept it. This wasn't a mere "miscommunication" or "misunderstanding". This was calculated and deliberate by an irresponsible perp working here. Karma will get to her and she will have her comeuppance at some point, I'm sure. Her life problem, not mine. But to the proprietors of this station, know that hiring trash like this will bring your business down. I'll no longer be a patron of this station.

Gas light was lit, my phone was dead, I was drained from working all night and worse part of it all...I was totally clueless of my whereabouts. It was a do or die situation lol. I ended up pushing the car for at least 15mins on Sierra Highway. I was so close to pulling over somewhere to cry about it lol. I didn't notice the condition of the bill at the time because I trusted that the cash I received from the store was acceptable. I immediately returned to the Pilot Travel Center and explained the situation, requesting a simple bill exchange. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told to come back at 11 PM that Sunday. I find this response very frustrating and unacceptable. Pilot Travel Center should be accountable for the condition of the bills they accept and then give back to their customers. Customers should not be left stuck with damaged money after making a purchase at your store. I hope management looks into this situation and trains employees on how to properly handle situations like this. This could have been easily resolved with a simple bill exchange, but instead I was left feeling like my concern was being ignored.

But then I, a 36-year-old with grey hair and a full beard, was denied a lighter because I didn't show ID. The cashier insisted it was "state law," which is completely false. You don't even need to be 18 to buy a lighter in California. The staff here move like they're in slow motion and act like they've never been trained. It's like walking into a break room at a retirement home where no one knows what's going on. I'm all for protecting kids from adult products--but that's not what this is. This is incompetence, plain and simple. To the owner: pay a little more and hire people who can think.
