I went in for a Brazilian. I had Adriana and she was very nice and professional throughout. I'm used to soft chocolate wax so I didn't like the types of waxes that were used. I had soft wax for the suprapubic area and then chocolate hard wax for everything else. As a result, it was more painful than it needed to be (the slow initial pull itself and also the hot application of the wax itself) and there were bits of hair around the anus that was left behind (noticed it the next day). I came to the Arch Studio looking to get my eyebrows threaded. The place is in a small strip mall, it has all the classic salon decor, I walked in asked for threading and waited 10ish minutes, all pretty standard stuff. She threaded my eyebrows pretty thin (not my style) and wasn't super proficient with the thread (picked at the same spot over and over, had to readjust a lot). So not the best, but not the worst either. Where I really was disappointed though, was the classic trope some of us may be used to hearing-- "you should really do your upper lip, too." At this point we had established that I only wanted my eyebrows done, we had talked about it twice. I declined waxing my lip, but she asked me 3 more times if I wanted my upper lip done, even saying at one point "please let me do your upper lip, it won't hurt." I'm not sure if this is true for other people, but it kinda hurts my feelings when I get asked this, in my opinion my upper lip hair is fine but all of this pleading by salon workers makes me feel self conscious, and definitely doesn't make me keen to return to the spa. A pretty standard price for eyebrows and a pretty standard eyebrow place overall, but I didn't love the shape she did and I especially didn't love her unnecessary comments. read more

I had a henna brow service done. Sandra did sooooo well and I couldn't be more happy with what she did for me! She made it feel like I was visiting a friend rather than a first time appointment such a good energy to be around. She threaded my brows so well too! Usually I get my eyebrows waxed but I like this so much better . It was basically painless which I have heard threading is pretty painful. She did it so well, and they looked amazing even without having the henna done. The henna was just the cherry on top, once it was done it looked so amazing and I was so happy with the results. The professionalism of this studio is lacking. It may be because my friend and I were in for a brazilian and not a higher priced service, but upon arrival Adriana was not there for the appointment. The woman working did not tell us when she would be back so we sat patiently. 15 minutes past our appointment time we decided to leave because no one told us when we would be seen then Adriana came through the door only to tell us we'd need to wait longer because she had run out of wax and needed to warm it now. Finally the appointment began and I did my best to be understanding of the situation but that changed when Adriana took two phone calls during my and my friend's wax. The price for a brazilian is advertised as $35 (per their facebook) only to find out during checkout the price is actually $45 - we figured with her 15 minute late arrival, waiting an additional 15 for the wax to warm and the phone calls she would adjust the price but no. All of this aside, Adriana did a great job with the wax and was kind throughout. I am pleased with the service itself but not the experience as a whole! read more

Do not get microblading done here! Her strokes are too deep and unnatural. When strokes are too deep, they heal gray in color which does not look natural. Luckily I was able to find another artist to disguise and cover up her work but some of her strokes are still visible... I'm hoping they will all fade over time. read more

For anyone new to threading, it is actually more precise than waxing, plus hurts less in my opinion. If you haven't tried it before, you really should and this is a great place to start. Located across from West High School, this salon is bright, stylish, and clean. The staff is very welcoming and professional. Even though I was a walk-in, they were able to do my brows immediately. Mixed feelings. I've had a few good threading experiences here, and also 2 really bad experiences. It depends on who you get. Go in and go to the right, don't go left. Not sure of name, but each time she's taken off almost my entire eye brow and it's taken me 6 months for them to grow back full again. I came to Arch Studio at 5, not knowing that they close at 4, but the ladies were nice, and allowed me to come in. I got my eyebrows threaded, and Sandra C. did an amazing job! My eyebrows are naturally uneven, and she evened them out which other people have not done before. She allowed me to see the first eyebrow to make sure that I was satisfied. Overall, she was amazing! The ladies that do the threading are amazing. The boss lady and the lady who did my wax are the reason this business is getting a low score. Without going to much personal detail, I waited over thirty minutes for what I thought was a scheduled sugaring appointment. I should have left then but I didn't. Then she got there and she asked me to get on the dirty table. I told her to change the paper. She also used hand sanitizer and a washed but stained towel. She basically lied to me that she was sugaring and double dipped into different waxes trying to distract me with why she was late. I should have picked up my crap and ran out of there. It is with great sadness that I write this review, but the truth needs to be told. I started going to the studio about 2 years ago for facial threading. It was a wonderful experience and in the beginning Sandra and Adrianna were very kind, warm and endearing. They even talked me into getting henna on my eyebrows which I did and love. About 5 months ago I started to barter with one of my neighbors, I drive her to appointments and she does threading for me in exchange. When this change occurred I went to the studio just for the henna on my brows twice with no problem. Of if there was a problem they never made it clear to me, until today. Upon arrival and entering the studio when asked what I wanted I said henna on my brows and Sandra asked, "just henna?" I said yes and she told me to wait. So I sat down and waited. When I it was my turn Sandra said it would be $30.00 including threading. I explained that I don't need threading to which Andrianna responded it has always been the same price. That is not true, last April when I had the henna done it was only $17.50. I guess it really is all about the money. At the very least they could have explained to me they were no longer serving me before I waited 20 minutes. The change in behavior displayed today is mind boggling. They went from endearing to rude and bitchy in a very short time. Be warned, smiling faces tell lies. read more
