Tuesday, June 4, 2024 A hazard warning light informed me of…read morelow tire pressure on my 2021 Rav 4. It was the 2nd time in less than a week so I figured I should take it over to Firestone to get it checked out. It was a nail in my tire and the location of the nail prevented them from repairing it, so I needed a brand new tire. I called Musson Patout and asked to speak to Mr. Fontenot whom I'd spoken to the week before about getting a copy of the tire warranty paperwork because I had scratches on my car I wanted to get repaired. He said he'd get someone to look it up and send me a copy. A week went by and I still didn't get the copy. I explained to the young lady that I needed to talk to the finance manager. I needed a copy of my tire warranty because I was now getting my tire replaced at Firestone. I was told by the young lady that Mr. Fontenot was unavailable and that she would connect me with someone in the service department. I was transferred to someone's office, I left a message and waited to get my tire replaced. I called back for Mr. Fontenot he was still unavailable, this time I was transferred to either Tiger or Joey about my situation. I told him I needed a copy of the tire warranty because I was at Firestone getting my tire replaced. It was then that I was informed that I needed to bring the tire to Musson Patout to make the claim. I was left confused... by this time I'd missed 3 hrs of work and wasn't sure how I was able to make this happen. I explained that the tire was replaced and how inconvenient the request was and asked if there was any other way this issue could be resolved. He told me "That's just the way it is you know girl, sometimes things just don't work out" Girl?? first of all I haven't been a GIRL since 1986, at this point, my main thought was getting reimbursed for a tire warranty I paid for thru Musson Patout. I asked the service agent at Firestone to hold the tire. They agreed and I headed back to work. Was able to leave my job at 3 pm, traveled back to Firestone, put gas in my car & headed to New Iberia. It was 4:15 and I was 9 miles outside of New Iberia when I called the dealership to see where to bring this tire so they could take pictures of it. The man on the line (who didn't identify himself) put me on hold. When he returned he informed me that the person who processed claims said it was too late to process today and that I was to leave the tire and they would process the claim in the morning. By this time I was completely exhausted by the audacity of this situation. I told him I was 9 mins away and that somebody was going to make this claim TODAY. He put me back on hold and Harley got on the line. She told me she called Safelite who said that Firestone was supposed to make the claim before the work was done. By this time my patience had run out and I'd lost all sense of decorum. I told her I was told to bring the tire to the dealership, and then I asked her if anybody over there knew what the heck they were doing. Why would someone in the SERVICE DEPARTMENT advise me to drag this tire to New Iberia for them to file the claim with Safelite when Firestone was the provider of service? I whipped my car around and headed BACK TO LAFAYETTE. Safellite confirmed what Harley told me so I called Firestone, spoke to Mr. BRENT gave him the number to Safelite while I was on my way back from New Iberia, he called in the claim and Safelite was waiting for a phone call to verify where to send the check. I lost additional time off from my job and unnecessary frustration in a situation that could have been handled earlier that morning. My question is why wasn't that key piece of information readily known to the service or finance department at Musson Patout so that I could get this claim handled in a timely manner? I would strongly urge you to consider Sensitivity Training, especially for your male employees. No woman over 30 wants to be called"Girl". it's demeaning and very condescending. Perhaps an overview of the products (i.e warranties) sold by your company to key employees would keep this from happening. I pray that no other person has to endure the sheer ignorance I experienced. Needless to say, I am seriously disappointed by the lack of service and professionalism your company provided. I hope this letter is taken seriously, but my confidence level in your company is pretty low. Sincerely, TS Briscoe A "disappointed" Customer
