There are few true craftsman left and even less companies who care about the human side of business, but Elite Iron holds the market corner in their area. I was so lucky that AI recommended Elite, and I decided to get one more quote! Definitely call them for your ironwork project. I promise that you won't regret it!

I am an architectural professional focused on restoration of historical residential architecture…read more I interviewed several other companies who install terrazzo though when speaking with Daniel I was uniquely impressed by both his questions and his answers. Daniel is extremely knowledgeable which was very helpful during the specification process. The project in question was a 1963 Pierre Koenig AIA designed home that I was planning to install terrazzo in five rooms over a wood substrate. I elected to go with ACI after several discussions and a job site meeting. I cannot express how dedicated and hard working the entire team was from start to finish. Unexpected (inherent) problems were where I was the most impressed, as the team and I were all on the same page, aiming for perfection regardless of the extra work, and terrazzo installation is extremely laborious. Daniel and his team are of a rare talent, and from my experiences cannot be bettered. I have since worked with ACI on other projects with the same experience. Feel free to DM me if you would like to ask questions about my experience.

I should've listened to my inner voice. After a series of mishaps, I reached out and contacted Ġerman @ build It Up Construction. He and his crew had also renovated my neighbors home and her condo and was highly recommended through other mutual friends that had renovated their home. Ġerman promptly scheduled an appointment to meet with me at my home the same day I let my other contractor go. He arrived on time videoed the area that was incomplete and got me a written bid the same day. Build it up arrive the next morning at 7:30 AM and started in on the renovation project. Within the first two days, they had accomplished more than the prior carpenter did in two weeks. The amount of stress off my shoulders was immense with hiring them. I should've made the right choice to begin with, but I believe they were not available because they were busy on another job. I can't say enough good things about this crew. I ended up referring him to a friend of mine for a small job which he sent one of his guys over the next day. What a small world! My friend remembered hiring them five years ago to scrape his acoustic ceilings and re-texture them throughout his house. He was so appreciative that I got him back in touch with them that he plans on using them for every DIY project. He has moving forward. By all means, do your due diligence and get multiple bids for your project. But rest assured, I vetted these guys and they're solid!

The new sink and faucets are FRANKE high end professional grade and being a different size and configuration from the original sink, the quartz countertops needed to be cut and resized. I was very skeptical and being a perfectionist, I was hesitant to even consider this project and didn't want to risk damaging the island countertop. German, his crew and countertop fabricator came out prepped and protected the flooring, wrapped the island cabinetry with paper, draped and taped plastic sheeting in a bubble around the island to keep the dust at a minimum. The countertop, sink and two faucets came out perfect as if they were always there which is what I was hoping for. German and his crew are professional, knowledgable, kind and efficient. I would recommend him and use him for future projects!

One Star - Proceed with Extreme Caution…read more I was referred to ORR Builders by a bank while exploring SBA loan options I ultimately did not use. I hired them for a large construction project in Palm Springs, and it turned into one of the worst decisions I've made. As a licensed architectural interior designer with years in the industry, I noticed glaring issues with the work from the start. They poured new concrete floors--yet the final result was so poorly leveled that mop water ran into the walls. I flagged this issue early in the project, but it was ignored. As a result, water seeped into the interior structure and over time led to extensive mold. Only much later, during discovery and inspection, did I learn the full extent of the damage--requiring all the drywall to be removed. That kind of oversight speaks volumes about the level of care and follow-through. When I reminded the owner, Bryan Orr, about the floors, he shrugged and said, "It's an old building." That would only make sense if the floors were original--but they weren't. They poured those floors themselves. That kind of response shows a lack of accountability and basic project awareness. The project ran behind schedule. I had to bring in outside professionals to install the city-required ADA parking space. I had to contract a separate team to finish the patio. I sourced and installed steel materials myself when they failed to provide the specialty corrugated steel I paid for. I already had a brand-new air conditioning unit in place before their involvement--but they still billed me for it. And the list goes on. In total, I was charged more than $250,000--a staggering amount for a project riddled with incomplete, shoddy, or misrepresented work. To make matters worse, the ORR Builders office displays live sharks in a conference room tank. In California, that's not only ethically disturbing--it may be illegal. Watching those animals swim in visible distress was symbolic of how ORR Builders treats their clients: caged, ignored, and exploited. I have since learned that many in the community have had similar experiences with this company. Multiple people told me they were surprised I hired him at all--warnings I wish I'd heard earlier. Bryan Orr may come across as personable, but that charm masks a serious pattern of poor business practices and disregard for client welfare. At this point, I am preparing to file for personal bankruptcy due to the financial strain this and other situations have caused. Let me be clear: they will not be receiving another dime from me. I intend to pursue every legal and professional avenue available to hold them accountable for what I strongly believe is grossly negligent and harmful construction. Please think twice. Don't be fooled by appearances. Avoid ORR Builders.
