This place is absolutely fantastic! I got a facial and not a massage but wow. One of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend.

Apparently, flexibility only goes one way at the Care Collective…read more I was at The Care Collective today for a sauna session and discovered afterward that something had punctured my tire in/around their parking area. It's Sunday, so I haven't been able to get it repaired. I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow morning and called to ask if I could reschedule, explaining that even if I can get the car towed and the tire replaced first thing tomorrow, I'm unlikely to make the appointment in time. I also explained that I'm currently in town by myself and don't know anyone locally. The person I spoke with said she was trying to help by offering alternatives: take an Uber, give the massage to someone else, or take my car to Ford and use their shuttle to get to the appointment. What was frustrating was that these suggestions were offered without really taking the time to understand whether any of them were feasible. I have an undriveable car that I need to deal with first thing in the morning, and I'm here alone. It felt less like trying to understand the situation and more like finding any possible way to avoid letting me reschedule. The irony is that this appointment had just been scheduled, and after it was booked, The Care Collective contacted me to ask if I could come 15 minutes earlier for their scheduling convenience. I agreed without hesitation. Apparently, flexibility only travels in one direction. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, and I wasn't asking for a refund--just to move the appointment because my car unexpectedly became undriveable on a Sunday. I'm also not a one-time customer. I went here regularly when I lived in Boone in 2022, recently purchased a package of 10 sauna sessions, and have easily spent more than $1,000 with this business over time. Customer service matters most when something goes wrong. I would have expected a little empathy and a one-time accommodation from a business I've supported for years. Instead, I was essentially given transportation-planning advice and told the appointment couldn't be moved. I've enjoyed the services here in the past, which makes this especially disappointing. But the lack of empathy and reasonable flexibility in this situation has completely changed how I feel about continuing to spend money here. One star for the experience. I can't review the massage, since the entire problem is that I apparently won't be able to get it.

I'm here at least once a month and this is one of my happy places in Boone!…read more Highly recommend ordering one of their seasonal lattes, going to one of the private saunas, then heading to a massage. Their therapists are amazing and have been able to help me recover from workouts and soreness for long distance running. Shout out to Mac and Stephanie my go-to therapists!

Lumina Massage is heaven sent (cue the harps) I began receiving prenatal massages during my second…read moretrimester and continued every week all the way to my due date (and beyond). I credit the massages to one of the reasons I still felt great in my third trimester when I was large and in charge. She takes her time to figure out the troublesome areas before each massage and she also helps prepare your body for labor. It was honestly the best investment I made to my body while pregnant. But wait that's not all. I had a massage the week after birth! At home! Praise the Lord, Hallelujah After 36 hours in labor, mama needed some reinforcements and again I highly recommend doing this after as well. I'm now a year postpartum I've continued to get massages as part of my self care routine (everyone needs self care). Believe me between nursing and running after a baby the massages are still much needed. If you are pregnant, have any kind of pain (she specializes in pain as well) or just enjoy a great massage, Lumina should be on your speed dial. (Does anyone have speed dial anymore? I just dated myself didn't I) Favorites, she should be on your favorites.
