Great Office Site For Licensing Enforcement Trainings…read more SITREP It isn't often that we have an opportunity to conduct training for Community Car Licensing (CCL) at the Culver City Regional Office (CCRO) just above LAX, but in this instance, the office complex proved worthy for the job. THE SETUP Located on Bristol Parkway, CCRO has large conference room that is more than sufficient for 20 trainers & trainees to set up shop and conduct a series of training weeks. * Ample Tables, Chairs & Hard-Wired Connectivity - a set-up including these elements was more than sufficient to conduct our training in this Conference Room. * Location - when it comes to breaks and lunch options, there is an old school food truck that comes regularly - like clock work - the building at 9:15am, and is there however long until the lines disappear. There is also the Culver City Mall just on the OTHER side of the building down the hill, making it easy to grab coffees at Peets, Starbucks, etc., or go to the foodcourt that includes quick lunch options like Sbarro, Panda Express, Chilpolte, a Sushi spot, a Vietnamese spot, a Mongolian Grill, etc. etc., and many many other options. UPGRADE REQUEST My main request of this building management staff would be to put WiFi in on this floor, or at least in this conference room. When we train, we utilize our wifi enabled HP Tablet -Laptops, and it would make the training site-metrics so much safer and less cluttered if we don't have to use hard-wired routers, Cat 6 cables, duct tape, etc. etc. THE LOWDOWN A very good facility to conduct our trainings.

Kudos to the Marina del Rey Fire Department for rescuing Yessi, the UPS delivery lady, from a…read morebroken elevator at Dolphin Marina Apartments. Yessi's phone died in the hour + time she was trapped. She tried the emergency call button in the elevator and it did not work. When I called the Dolphin Marina Apartments no one answered any of the phone numbers! Not the apartment management or repair people. Only the Security guard and the Fire Department came to the rescue. No notice was posted that the elevator was out of order even though they were working on it late in the afternoon! I went to the other elevators throughout the building and none of the emergency call buttons worked. Yessi was calm and even continued her deliveries after being rescued. Well Done all!

The…read moreelevator was not working but the sign directing the stairs was UNCLEAR!!!!!!! i went to different stairs, walk all the way up, back n forth, different buildings, to look for it!!!! arrrrrr there are 3-4 different buildings in the plaza that DONT connect. Make sure you go the stair I pointed out on the picture. After several attempts, I went back to the original elevator and gave another try. The elevator came and I went all the way up to 3rd floor. There is only 1 door and thats the BOE! There was no line and the lady helped me right away to change address of my seller's permit. She was nice. After i was done, I tried to take elevator, but it never came and I could hear the doors opening sound coming from second floor. I'm so glad I was not stucked in the elevator on my up. I told her it was my first time but she didn't take her time to explain the process... I was gonna give 3 or less... but yesterday when i went to file my return, there was a guy named Robert! he is very kind and helpful. As he was filling my info for me on his side, he informed me that I could do it at home ( i called several times at the district but no body told me about the info!!!! ) and patiently explain to me how i can save the time and gas money by doing permanent permit. Nw i knw that u need to get a temporary permit for location and if u do 50 locations, this means u hv to do it 50 times. Besides bars and club hopping, WeHo has the main park right in heart of the city. Across the street from the Pacific Design Center as it's also a place that you should check out. West Hollywood has loads of things to do. Not only a tourist spot as you definitely will see the TMZ tour bus going up and down the street, but also home to loads of residents. It's minutes from Beverly Hills, a straight short drive down to the beach and Santa Monica. Then you have Hollywood a couple miles away. But be advised, Angelenos don't go by miles, we go by minutes and hours...lol... IYKYK... It's a place where I used to spend my teen walking the shop filled street with friends. Grabbing lunch and people watching along Melrose and Santa Monica. It's constantly changing as loads of new businesses are replacing the old historic places I once would frequent. Funny thing as well, you know it's there so you don't visit as often now. It's someplace that is worth checking out for a fun night or weekend. Plus it's known for their Halloween Carnival parade along the strip. Not quite a parade but more a big street party with everyone showing off their costumes. Then you better bar hop as it's what's it's all about. And then there's the WeHo Pride Parade and Festival held during the summer during Pride Month in June. It's a vibe...

Where else can you say that. It has changed a lot over the years since I moved their originally in the 90s. It's a lot slicker and a lot shinier. But it still has a lot of of the small businesses that give it that neighborhood feeling. I understand big changes are coming to West Hollywood. Huge monuments and dwellings are on the horizon. I welcome change and I welcome advancement. I hope it still maintains its charming neighborhood feeling with those changes.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Station 29 is a smaller fire station covering a smaller area…read morein Hancock Park than its neighboring fire stations. Because of the size and relatively quietness, new firefighters are assigned here to spend about 5 months doing hands-on training, going on real calls and doing actual work at a slower pace before rotating out to other busier stations. Firefighter Jeff was quite friendly, inviting us in after their tiller truck had backed into the garage. We took the opportunity to take a look around and admire how organized and clean everything is. Each tool in the toolbox has its own indentation on the foam so that it stays in place and looks extremely organized. That's such a smart idea that I might copy for my kitchen drawer full of loose gadgets. During the tour, the station received a call that required paramedics and a fire engine, so Firefighter Jeff had to hurry out. We witnessed the sense of urgency in the station but it was a calm and collected rush. It was interesting to see the firefighters jump into their gear and GTFO of there. The alarm was of a low buzz/whoop and the announcement over the PA system was very matter-of-fact relay of information. I suppose if the alarm was shrilly like on TV or the movies and if the lady over the PA system shrieked like Kevin McCallister's mom every time, it would get old fast. We loitered around for a few minutes out back - saw their tool shed from the outside and saw that they had their gas pump. This is a single-level fire station so no fire poles here. We saw other firefighters during the frenzy but they went back inside after the trucks left. We didn't want to be weird and stick around unaccompanied and also there wasn't much else to see anyway. I don't recommend making a trip here to visit since firefighters need their rest, but if you happen to be walking by and a firefighter seem like they are willing to spend their downtime talking to you, then by all means, say hello

Just a head up that they don't open the gate until the actual time of the test appointment. I arrived early but it didn't matter because we were just stuck waiting outside. The test taking room is a decent size with a good amount of space. The parking here is simple, you can park inside the park nearby or do street parking if that's easier for you.
