What a fun park to come and play at. I have been here numerous times and this is one of my daughters favorite places to go to. There are always 10-40 kids playing at the playground in the middle of the park. This is perfect for my daughter as she is always able to find a few kids to play with when we come here. This park has so much to do its crazy; lawn bowling, swimming (public pool currently being remodeled), tennis courts, baseball diamonds, open grassy areas able to support any games you can think of, pathways to walk/run/jog, a golf course on the southern side of the park. This place has just about everything. The mark has 4 distinctly different jungle gyms in the playground area, a sand pit with additional play accessories, multiple spinners set apart from the jungle gyms, and swings as well. There are multiple bathrooms located throughout the entire park. The tennis courts and baseball diamonds are all lit up for night time usage. However I will agree with some other posters that some additional night lighting would be a good thing as there is very little of that otherwise at this park. Parking never has been an issue with several parking lots around the edges of the park and street parking along 1/4 of its length (off Huntington). It seems that there is always at least one space available. The park is also dotted with picnic tables all over the place including a central area with about 20-25 tables and an enclosed area under a giant oak tree with a full kitchen room that can be rented out by the public with another 15-20 tables. There are also fountains and statues located willy nilly around the park adding to the general festiveness here. Definitely worth going out to hang out for a few hours here especially if you have any children. read more

Adjacent to the Santa Anita Golf Course, the Arcadia County Park is a great place if... 1.) You're into exercise and jogging. Beats running around a boring track around and around and around. I've seen people play volleyball, baseball, lawn-bowling and soccer here. No basketball courts unfortunately. I have a basketball buddy who works for County and he says having a basketball court here would attract the wrong crowd. bOOOOOOO!!!! 2.) Need to get lost for a while and relax. This park is spacious and doesn't get overly crowded. It does host festivals sometimes though! 3.) You're into nature and love trees. There are some nifty trees around this parks. All shapes and colors. 4.) You have a family. It's great for picnics, and there's a playground for kids too. In fact, I used to play here when I was a kid. There use to be this tall rocket ship slide. Sucks that they took it away. I'll never forgive them GRRRRRRR. 5.) You're a history buff. It's located on the site of the World War I Ross Field Balloon School. The City of Arcadia Museum is right next door as well. read more

This park is awesome. It is well maintained and easy to get to. Large grassy fields spotted with dozens of mature trees. You can come here and not know your fiends were here at the same time. Several pavilions with large clean bathrooms. Children's sandlots and structures. Swimming pools, over 10 lighted tennis courts and three baseball fields. All of this laced with paved walking paths surrounding and snaking through the interior. Parking is easy and plentiful. Adjacent is Santa Anita golf course and the Anita Lawn Bowling Greens. Both are open to the public. Check in and take a lesson or two. read more

I came here with my family yesterday for the Harvest Moon Festival. That being said...you know I LOVE my little yellow people, but LAWD HAMMERCY why do they have to dress their children funny? My mom and aunt just sat there talking about all the funny dressed children all day! This is the first time I've ever been to the festival. We set up shop near all the inflatables so my kids had easy access to them and people watched all day. The park itself is HUGE! Who knew you could pack so many people in such a concentrated area? I came here tonight with my wife and young daughter. My little girl is almost two and has gotten to the point where she doesn't want to be in the stroller any longer than necessary. This park was great for her. It's HUGE so you can let her run free without too much worry. The kids playground is nice too. My only beef with this crowd of parents is that there were too many glued to their cellphones or otherwise nonparticipating, letting their kids throw handfuls of mulch at or around other kids. That's something I haven't experienced at other parks nearby. It's a bit wild at this one. That said, it was a great park, those parents/kids without basic manners aren't there all the time, and we will be back most likely. read more

This park is great. It has suffered a lot from the drought and the grass has become a bit yellower but all in all, it's very large, and very peaceful. No fees and lots of parking all throughout, so if you pass the first entrance you see, keep driving. About 3 baseball fields which are often times available even on Sundays. The tennis courts seem to always be packed, so I would not go for tennis. Lots of trees with plenty of shade for picnics and large gatherings. Great park in this area of SGV! read more

SAFE and CLEAN. If you like squirrels and trees this is your park. As county parks go it is a gem as it offers a lot of options. There are the baseball diamonds, the old amphitheater seating for stair work, a BBQ area for groups, tai chi in the morning, lawn bowling, swimming, exercise stations, tennis, playground, and only a few homeless who are regulars and don't bother anyone. Nice place for a walk if your dog doesn't chase squirrels. Great for parties and youth groups and photos. I have always felt safe, even in the early morning hours. It is well maintained. read more

I went to Arcadia County Park in Acadia, CA on 12/9/2016. It was my 1st time there. Now I've driven by it thousands of times (North of it, West of it, East of it) but this was the first time I was ever in it. I know that they have many events in the park, and I was there for a CalRTA (California Retired Teachers Association) event. After taking care of CalRTA business items they had a fine lunch provided by Chefs and entertainment provided by the Camerata Singers from Monrovia High School. This park is beautiful! Located at the corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita, this County park has big open green space, lots of parking, golf course attached, lawn bowling, children's play area, pet friendly, tennis courts, lots of tables/chairs, and lots of mature trees for shade. We love coming here for our picnic lunches. We pick up sandwiches, chips and drinks from Claro's and have nice lunch under the sun or shade depending on the weather. When coming for picnics, remember to bring napkins and be careful of the ants during summertime. We saw lots of families playing football and baseball. It's a great area to bring the kids to get out of the house! Lots of people walk their dogs here, we saw big and small dogs having the time of their life. Restrooms are available near the parking lot. Definitely recommended!! It is beautiful! read more

If you take a walk or run around the perimeter of the park is approximately 2.5 miles. The scenery is beautiful. You seevarious groups doing tai chi... At least I think that's what it is. They offer lawn bowling. After your work out there's a Denny's or Rod's café right across the street!! read more

This is a beautiful park with good many facilities to offer. I have to give it 3 star because of the lack of security of this park. The BBQ area is often crowded up by homeless. One time I even saw a homeless man pushing a shopping cart without his pants. Kids and adults were riding bicycles, strollers, and roller blades in full speed nearby the swings even though signs said these are not allowed. I have to watch out of my safety because there is absolutely no security or police around. read more

This one's for the pool: Wow, cold and seemingly clean water! 2 lifeguards on duty, 2 diving boards in the deep end (10.5 Ft) and they also have 2 separate kiddie pools. This pool seems like they've got the routine down. Walk in, pay your dues, change, give your bag to the lockerroom keep, take your pin and go swim. The pool is a pretty decent size for a public park pool. I prefer this one to the Barnes Park Pool, which is always overcrowded and... well, more pee-filled, I think. I've only been on Sundays and they close at 5PM. read more

Took a nap under a tree. Close to the main street but could hardly hear the traffic. Parking is a non-issue. No poop or pee smell on the grass. Lots of dogs being walked by their owners or vice versa. Lots of adorable chubby squirrels that chase each other like they own the place. read more

I went here for a dog frisbee catching contest. The park was very big and nice--clean and a nice view of the San Gabriel mountains. There was a golf course next to the park, lawn bowling, multiple tennis courts, children's playground, a pool, and a softball field. Plus, there was also a wide open area with tables for parties and barbecues. Parking was also very easy to get in and out of it. There was only one drawback to the park, and why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4 stars, which was the restrooms. I only visited one, but it was pretty disgusting--no paper towels, dirty, rusty faucets, and a very unpleasant odor. read more

Running around the entire park is 2.5 miles. I've only run here twice and do enjoy it. In the evening, it's not as well lit as I'd like it to be in all areas. Luckily all the things that fall from the trees aren't slip/trip worthy (because I'm pretty clumsy sometimes). read more

Anybody else remember the huge space ship on the playground? Man how I miss playing on that thing! That was back when parks weren't all high tech with their jungle gyms. As a matter of fact, I'm not a big fan of these new jgs. Other than that, this park is so spacious! I've been here during a couple large events and can still find a shady spot under a tree to chill. On Saturday's and Sunday's you can often catch a good tennis match going on, sometimes I have no choice since my one year old just loves watching them. The playground can get really crowded, I would recommend keeping an eye out for your little one (which you should be doing if you're a parent.) I've noticed some parents just let their children run wild! The only downside for me: NO changing tables in the restrooms. For this reason I learned to carry my changing mat. Also, don't forget your foldable chairs, blankets and picnic baskets, sometimes the best spots are in grassy areas. By the way, anybody know if the pool will ever reopen? read more

Playgrounds,Baseball fields,basketball courts, golf course, swimming pool, lots of green grass, picnic tables and BBQ's and a Huge lawn bowling facility. I volunteered here during Cesar Chavez volunteer week and the parks & rec employee I worked with was mad cool. Shout out to Mark! You can tell this guy really loves his job. This is a fantastic park. Lots of different types of recreational facilities - from tennis to cricket to lawn bowling - I mean, really!? The grounds are expansive, and there's plenty of interesting people watching - a group of middle-aged ladies doing Tai Chi over here, a kids birthday party over there, people jogging around the perimeter - a humongous peacock water fountain at the corner. Also, it doesn't hurt that parking is plentiful, and that there's a fantastic coffee joint (Taza) right across the street! What a great park! Large parking lot on the east side of the park, where you would park if you're going to the golf course I guess. We just wanted a nice picnic table to sit at and enjoy being outdoors. On a Saturday afternoon, it was easy finding some open picnic tables less than a minute's walk from the cars. Some were in the shade, some were in the sun. There's an adult fitness park and childern's playground all within a couple minute's walk. Lots of family gatherings going on as I at least saw 2 big parties. One of them had a bounce house - I'm guessing some sort of permit was required. I have always driven by this park to go to Santa Anita Mall or Monrovia, but have never been. It's a really nice park! I came here on July 4th and it was the perfect place to be. It was not too crowded, there was plenty of parking and open space to lay your blanket without any neighbors. It probably was not crowded because they do not have a fireworks show at night, but it was still a great place to picnic and relax during the day. It cleared out pretty quickly around 6 or 7 pm. They have tennis courts, a baseball court, cool slanted trees to sit on, and a nice open field to play frisbee or football. You can probably set up volleyball nets, too. The restrooms had toilet paper, soap, and paper towels! This is one of the rare parks that I have encountered that are clean and have these amenities. read more

I only visit this park for the Basset Hound Spring Games (May of every year) by the Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California, but it features ample parking and plenty of shade trees. It's a little oasis in Arcadia on those warm spring days that say, "Almost summer." read more
