My family of four really enjoyed our Sunday spent at Pixels. We've also been to the pinball museum…read morein Alameda so I figured this would be a similar experience. In comparison to the pinball museum, Pixels had more video games and I think it fit our interests more. We each got a drink from the place, the kids picked out soft drink / juice, and the husband and I each got an alcohol beverage. I like that there were many local brews they are serving. I like the idea of supporting local businesses. My son was a little shy to go play the video game station set up with gaming chairs. But we pretty much tried all the other free games. There are a few machines not included in the package cost, they are clearly labeled and close to the entrance, you will need cash coins to play those, if you want to play them. The bathroom was clean. There were so many bottles of anti-bacterial solutions lining up near the entrance and inside the facility. I'm a bit of a clean freak after the Covid-19 pandemic, so seeing this made me happy that the owner cares about protecting people. We spent about 3 hours here. I saw some lady some in with a bunch of kids. It was kind of interesting to watch them because she was working on her laptop while the kids ran around and played games. It's like a cheap daycare! I wish the had one of these arcades closer to where I live, I can just let my kids loose while I do my own thing for a couple hours!

This review is for booking a table for a kid's birthday party... I first attended a Yelp event at…read morePixels and had such a great time, I thought it would be great to host my son's birthday party there! Booking was easy to do online, and the owner Rob answered questions that I asked via email. Last Saturday, I showed up with 8 boys to celebrate my son's birthday, and the group had a blast. The party was mid-morning, and I appreciated how quiet the venue was. Some arcades have music that is blasting and so many lights flashing, and that can be overly stimulating. There are plenty of machines for guests to spread out. In the back, there are 4 controllers for Nintendo Switch, and the staff did have to come help change games for the kiddos but if you know what you're doing, you might be able to navigate on your own. Ordering pizza from Red Rooster was really easy, and the staff at Pixels even walked over to pick up the pizza for the party. So thoughtful! Throughout the 2 hours there, there were other families who came in to enjoy the arcade, as well as adults. 2 hours goes by so quickly! All the parents whose kids attended said their kiddos had a blast. Great place for a birthday party, young and old :) The dads are now talking about gathering again without the kids! Quick logistics: A single use bathroom is at the back of the space. Bring cash for tips or you can tip with card payment. Parking in the lot is free on weekends, otherwise pay for metered street marking Monday - Saturday.

The games were durable and held up for the event. Even though we were stalled on booking our games (due to the Venue needed to help with the layout), Luiza was still openly optimistic about helping us and in the end we got all the games we wanted. We opted for Ring Toss, Giant Checkers and Clowning Around (Bean Bag Target type of game - see photo). Except for the Giant Checkers, the prices are fairly reasonable. Please note that someone else may think that the price was reasonable...it's all subjective. Here's What I Think.... They have a ton of games from which to choose. If you're in the market for arcade/carnival type games, please give them a try.

Despite the website and all socials stating they service the West Coast and listing Seattle, WA and Portland, OR both as one of their cities, they emailed back stating that Washington was out of their service range. I emailed a screenshot of their website and asked if that was another company or perhaps only certain games, and was told the following: "For your information, our office and warehouses are located in San Francisco, CA. While we do serve the Washington, Oregon, and Nevada areas, please note that due to the extended travel distance, our minimum one-day rental for events in Washington is $18,500 plus delivery." Needless to say, I would not suggest using them.

It is never too loud or too quite. (Update: it was too loud for Return to Silent Hill . ) Nothing has ever obstructed the projection or interrupted the movie. The seats are comfortable and spacious. They even have themed popcorn containers and merch. The ONLY drawback is the perpetually stale popcorn. It is truly tragic, but that popcorn is always stale. Sometimes it's even cold. I really hope y'all fix this because everything else is great. Yes, they have kettle corn too, which would be great if it wasn't also stale.

For a while there were no movies that intrigued me enough to go to a theater until now. I decided to go on a Tuesday because it was very hot outside for 1 and 2 it's considered the discount day :). It was only $7.75/person. From what I can see on my app, it cost $8.50/ticket and a $1.89/ticket fees when you purchase online. If you opt to get the Cinemark Movie Rewards (free btw), you can get each ticket for $7.75, but you still need to pay the $1.89 ticket fee unless you join the Movie Club Member (which you have to pay for). If you buy the tickets in person, you waive the ticket fees and it's only $7.75 each! If you can, I would definitely recommend you coming on a Tuesday to get the best deal. One thing I did not know about this theater was how it had recliner chairs. They were very comfy and larger so you had room to relax. The theater we were in seemed a little smaller than the other ones, but I could also tell this was a smaller theater compared to others that I have been to along the peninsula. I did not get any concession stand items because I had dinner prior. From what I could see, their stand is pretty standard and right in the front by the entrance. Due to the small size of the theater, it did not seem like it was very soundproof inside. During the movie, there was a kid yelling and crying outside the doors that was clearly noticeable to all the moviegoers in the room. Eventually it stopped, but just something to note. Overall, I'd come back again. It's was fairly clean and easy to get to. The staff member I did talk to when buying my tickets was friendly and welcoming.

Nothing fancy about it, but the auditorium seats are comfortable and in good condition, and views are great from any seat in the house since it's such an intimate space. I was surprised that the orchestra wasn't hidden below, like at a lot of other theaters, but it was great to see them perform live during the show. Lots of wind instruments, including the flute, clarinet, and trumpet, along with sounds of the violin, organ, and percussion equipment. The show started about ten minutes after the listed ticket time. The three films shown were enjoyable, especially with the orchestra doing an impressive job. Sound and picture quality were ideal. Buster Keaton had me thoroughly entertained in two of the films shown, "The Scarecrow" and "One Week". And Charlie Chaplin was delightful to watch as usual, in "The Rink", with the iconic actor in hilarious scenes at the roller rink, which I found even more amusing cuz I had just come from the skating rink myself (and had witnessed a good amount of crashing and tumbling) prior to attending this film fest. There's a lot to love about this place. Not to mention, they serve yummy milkshakes at the concessions stand. Bonus points for that!

I love their wine and beer selections as well as the candy offerings. Make it a date and choose this theater for your next movie adventure.
