There are some questionable reviews here which I do not understand why they are still posted. They…read moreare very old 2014+- and I do not know if the management is even still the same. I have lived here a year and 1/2 and am very happy. It is not a new build, but I feel very much at home and if I put in a work order it is always taken care of quickly. It is great not to have to do maintenance myself or pay a HMO fee. Everything is nicely maintained and it is a friendly neighborhood. The management has been very nice and accommodating. The common space green area and pool is great. Safe walking trails through woods and by Birch Lake. Close to everything. I feel lucky to be here.

The neighbors are good. The people in the leasing office are generally nice. But be aware of what…read moreyou can negotiate for. You probably need to be aggressive -- that's the lesson I learned recently. Being a nice resident and believe what the leasing office tells you is probably not the best strategy. I lived here for 4+ years. When I moved in, the carpet was very old and worn, kitchen was really outdated, and the washer and dryer had problems once in a while. We mentioned this to the leasing office before signing the lease and moving in, but they just said that everything was still usable and the conditions were the same for the other apartments. So we thought that this was just the norm for this management company and did our best to maintain or improve the condition of the apartment. When the leasing office lady showed my apartment to some potential renter and promised to update the whole kitchen, replace the carpet, and tile. Hum...the reason was because we've lived here for a long time and make things old. Well, I can tell that my previous renter also lived in the apartment for a long time -- they even left the carpets with strong dog smells that we fought very hard to get rid of. The really unpleasant feeling started with this "scheduled tour" to our apartment. Yes, the leasing office gave a 24-h notice for the "scheduled tour" to the apartment. However, the leasing office, if they are professional, should have as least make sure that the new or potential renters did't come in as if the current resident did not exist. The new renters were rude when they took a look at my apartment. We told them that I have cats in the room and I would like to get to them before these people went in, but no one seemed to listen or care. They leasing office lady and these people were only focus on what they want to see. My poor cats were scared and so stressed out when these new renters "raided" the room my cats usually stayed in -- one of them hurt himself when he tried to escape from being cornered by these people. I can understand that this is rental business and the leasing office tries to please new renters. But we are good residents that deserve respects. We have not moved out and we are still paying rents. I used to think that I would write a good review for this place after I move out, but now I felt that they no longer deserve my endorsement. So, why did we stay here for 4 years? We like the neighbors, and it is a safe neighborhood. We don't ask much. As for the leasing office, I think I'll need to think twice and update my review after I dealt with them for moving out.

Especially at their reasonable price point. My Mom has a severe chronic health condition that requires an ada first floor apartment, which are also extremely difficult to find. Right before Her scheduled move in date She was unfortunately hospitalized, which complicated the finalization of Her move in paperwork as well as Her move in date. Most property managers wouldn't have put the amount of work in that Marissa and Sasha did to accommodate all of the additional challenges in order for my Mom the secure the apartment. They definitely went above and beyond their scope of work with genuine compassion for my Moms situation. My Mom has had some severe health battles the last few years and to see Her so happy with Her amazing apartment truly brings me joy.

The neighbors stomping all hours of the day and night into the early am hours is vibrating our apartment to the extent we have to sleep with ear plugs and have 4 fans running just to try and drown out the noise and vibrations. We are not the only ones either. We can't even have glass in our cabinets in the kitchen due to vibrations.. We also had a gas leak in our furnace that filled our whole apartment with natural gas. It took over a week to get sorted out and was leaking for our first two months. Be careful and read the whole 75 page lease. They can pretty much have any reason to enter your apartment. We have been entered 6 times for inspections and maintenance in our first 2 months. Also add roughly another $180 to your monthly bill for their common allocation, media package, pest control, sewer, trash, water and service fees. This does not include your gas and electricity or the extra $60 garage parking space. They want close to $8000 with two months notice to break the lease. I would think since these conditions are unacceptable and unethical they would be more understanding. This is more than just apartment living noise and disturbance.

The Barnum - A dining room with a round mirror and a wooden table

Although, the last month of living there, I heard a child screaming for about 50% of my time at my apartment. Regardless, the apartment is very nice and updated with good amenities. With all that being said, the management at the Barnum is horrible. If you want to get in contact with them, good luck. When I would have issues, I would call maybe 5-10 times a DAY, with no answers. Nobody was ever in the office during the office hours either. When I finally got in contact with the office, after quite literally 2 and a half weeks, I mentioned me calling several times a day and the office manager played dumb. This happened several times. Any time I had an issue, it would take weeks to fix, because of their inability to do their job. Luckily, living here, I only had a few issues. However when I had said issues, I dreaded trying to get in contact with management. When I first moved in, the Barnum was under different management. They switched management a month into my year lease. BIG mistake on the behalf. The Barnum is very nice, but do NOT live here. The management SUCKS!!!!!! The reviews on this place say enough!

One of the highlights of the property is the speakeasy room that is available through the party room/community room. The community room is pretty large with 3 couches, multiple tables, and a variety of seating options. The party room/community room has a door that enters directly into the outdoor grilling with the fire pit area by the pool. This property also has a fitness room and game room with a pool table. I m nestled in a studio that is larger than any other studio I've toured. The studio bathroom does not have a tub, only a shower with a glass door. The fridges do not equip with an icemaker. The unit appliances are Frigidaire. The studio unit has a stackable full-size washer and dryer in the bathroom. The closet in the studio is a decent size and has built-in corner shelves (I love the closet). The closet door is a sliding barn door. This place makes me feel safe and secure. There are secure entrances, surveillance, a nice neighborhood, and friendly neighbors. Also, there is a secure mail room and a separate LuxerOne secure package room. This room can be sometimes frustrating because some delivery people don't enter the information into the system so you do not get your code to open the door, but the office staff has always come to my rescue. The property holds events throughout the year to nurture the community. They have had pool parties, bingo, cooking contests and so much more! The leasing specialist Patti has been my main point person since the beginning. She has helped me with everything from the tour and on. Patti is a great asset to the company. She is always showing up with a smile on her face and treating the fur babies as if they are her own. Patti knows a lot and if she can't help me right at the moment she finds an answer and gets back to me in less than 24 hours. Patti is always dressed professionally and shows up ready to serve the residents. Jarod the maintenance person has been kind and always stops to say hi to River (my dog). Recently I have been able to meet with Jenna the complex manager and she took the situation at hand professionally. She was very validating and pleasant to be around.

She scolded me like a child claiming that she had shown me how to do it the previous day yet it was my first time ever delivering to that building and area. We can be in either downtown within about 15 minutes. So it's close to all the conveniences and features of the cities, but it's nestled in the middle of some gorgeous natural areas, including the Grass Lake Nature Preserve, Vadnais Lake, and Snail Lake Regional Park. It's not hard to forget you're in the middle of suburban St. Paul when you're an hour into a hike through the woods and you haven't seen another person. Regarding the earlier reviews that focus on the problem staff member, yeah, she was... uh... difficult. But she isn't employed at The McMillan any more and the current staff, from the building manager Cindy T. to the leasing agents to the caretakers, are competent, professional, and pleasant to work with.

Loden SV is a luxury apartment complex situated in Shoreview, close to businesses, and stores…read more My experience at Loden SV was pleasant but nothing exceptional. The things I liked were the facilities, nice gym, outdoor pool, dog wash area, and an elegant common room area. The things that I did not like about the building was that the staff seemed to only care about themselves and not really the residents. I had a few issues which I felt like when I would go to the staff about the answers were rude and not reassuring. I had issues of my packages being torn open, taped back together, and missing items. You pay a $500 cleaning fee when moving in but then I am still charged for tiny stains that the building says they were able to get out of the carpet. Which I should not be charged extra for unless it was not removable. What was the point of paying a $500 cleaning fee in the first place. It puts your mind at ease but then after moving out you find out they will charge you for something that can be fixed. When I first moved in on move in day, they messed up the scheduling to reserve my loading zone time which left a bad taste in my mouth as soon as I moved in. I had signed my lease 6 months before move in and after a month of waiting I wanted to cancel, but they wouldn't let me unless I paid ridiculous fees. Which the building was not even open yet and my unit not even built yet, so there should have been an easier way since it was still many months ahead. I've lived at other Luxury apartments before and for what you pay at Loden I would say is 50% worth it. The amenities are the winner. But, having to deal with staff, and all the policies it is not that great. Also, having to worry about your mail is really stressful. All in all, I didn't want to move here, but was stuck into the lease. I made the most of my experience while there, but there were definitely issues along the way.
