There are some questionable reviews here which I do not understand why they are still posted. They…read moreare very old 2014+- and I do not know if the management is even still the same. I have lived here a year and 1/2 and am very happy. It is not a new build, but I feel very much at home and if I put in a work order it is always taken care of quickly. It is great not to have to do maintenance myself or pay a HMO fee. Everything is nicely maintained and it is a friendly neighborhood. The management has been very nice and accommodating. The common space green area and pool is great. Safe walking trails through woods and by Birch Lake. Close to everything. I feel lucky to be here.

The neighbors are good. The people in the leasing office are generally nice. But be aware of what…read moreyou can negotiate for. You probably need to be aggressive -- that's the lesson I learned recently. Being a nice resident and believe what the leasing office tells you is probably not the best strategy. I lived here for 4+ years. When I moved in, the carpet was very old and worn, kitchen was really outdated, and the washer and dryer had problems once in a while. We mentioned this to the leasing office before signing the lease and moving in, but they just said that everything was still usable and the conditions were the same for the other apartments. So we thought that this was just the norm for this management company and did our best to maintain or improve the condition of the apartment. When the leasing office lady showed my apartment to some potential renter and promised to update the whole kitchen, replace the carpet, and tile. Hum...the reason was because we've lived here for a long time and make things old. Well, I can tell that my previous renter also lived in the apartment for a long time -- they even left the carpets with strong dog smells that we fought very hard to get rid of. The really unpleasant feeling started with this "scheduled tour" to our apartment. Yes, the leasing office gave a 24-h notice for the "scheduled tour" to the apartment. However, the leasing office, if they are professional, should have as least make sure that the new or potential renters did't come in as if the current resident did not exist. The new renters were rude when they took a look at my apartment. We told them that I have cats in the room and I would like to get to them before these people went in, but no one seemed to listen or care. They leasing office lady and these people were only focus on what they want to see. My poor cats were scared and so stressed out when these new renters "raided" the room my cats usually stayed in -- one of them hurt himself when he tried to escape from being cornered by these people. I can understand that this is rental business and the leasing office tries to please new renters. But we are good residents that deserve respects. We have not moved out and we are still paying rents. I used to think that I would write a good review for this place after I move out, but now I felt that they no longer deserve my endorsement. So, why did we stay here for 4 years? We like the neighbors, and it is a safe neighborhood. We don't ask much. As for the leasing office, I think I'll need to think twice and update my review after I dealt with them for moving out.

I've lived here for two years and I'll never rent from Goldmark again. This property is huge over…read more400 units. They've done a ton of illegal stuff. But I was so drained living here I couldn't stand up. Here's a list of all things and this is being honest. Maintenance is terrible they kept me locked out of my garage for over a month and that's illegal to do so. I got back into my garage 2 days before my lease ended. They made false promises everyday saying it would be done that day but wasn't and wouldn't pick up their phone when I called. Sewage would back flow from our bathtub, emergency maintenance was okay but it never got fixed correctly and the dude had his butt crack out in my living room. My whole two years of issues the bathtub always back-flowed. First week I moved in an old guy asked what unit I lived in. What a creep. There's small business in the garages where guys fix people's cars and they are all over the driving path to park they're on the ground fixing a new car everyday. Then they park it in the lot where no one else can park. So not only do you have to dodge and be careful from hitting these dudes there is limited parking cuz of them. We had a pipe burst during the winter and it flooded the entire bottom floor including my unit. I was awake till midnight moving my stuff around. Some of my stuff was damaged from the water. They never apologize to us. The girl next to me her entire unit was flooded. It took months for them to even fix the damages in the hall way. They ripped up my carpet and hung it on the railing in MY closet with big fans hitting it. When I asked about mold they said "our guys are really good at what they do" girl they didn't do anything special just tore up the carpet and hung it. The water came thru the walls too so the walls are damaged and they never fixed it. The bugs are insane I constantly had ants and flying ants. They called in someone to spray our unit and then once he was done he asked if our unit was the one with bed bugs. That's what made me call it. A week later the same dude entered my apartment without notice and I was asleep on my couch. Which is also illegal. The property managers are slum lords they might dress nice but they don't communicate to their tenants. They are lazy and no where to be found when there was a flood. I brought up the unit above us was letting their dog piss on their deck which got onto my patio and smelled bad they didn't believe me even tho I sent them pictures. The noise was the biggest thing. Blaring music from so many units you could never be at peace. You couldn't open ur windows cuz everyone had a little party going on with the pool on their patios the people above us drove me nuts I couldn't sleep. Police raided apartments, people stealing laundry, towing cars for fun, trying to make u pay late fees even tho you paid rent on time. They don't care about u they just want ur money. They sit behind their desk and don't pick up the phone cuz they can't handle confrontation. Jordan was the only homie who actually tried to fix things. but the maintenance didn't know how to fix it. They need to hire actual guys who know what to do. They just put bandaids on the issues. There's a ton of biohazards here they fail to maintain. Their property is full of trash and they have recycling but it's just another dumpster. I was always on edge from something new happening everyday. I finally escaped this place and I would never recommend it. Run while u can. Save yourself.
