The drywall was improperly done where you can see cracks and the crease as well as the texture didn't match the rest of the ceiling. So after Juan came back to fix it they sent the painters. Painted areas that didn't need painting, left paint blobs and used the wrong paint (semi gloss on ceiling, not flat). Now the ceiling is flaking and when we called to tell them they said they would call back and it's been 2 days with no return call.

I was referred by ARS by a plumber (used by my homewarranty company). ARS represented that they would manage the process from end to end with my insurance company on Remediation work on my property and that I would be responsible only for the amount ultimately agreed upon with insurance. That representation was a major reason I hired them. ARS handled the remediation work and referred me to a reconstruction company they had worked with previously. My insurance company issued two separate checks--one for remediation and one specifically for reconstruction. ARS initially billed me nearly twice the total amount of those checks and tried to strong arm me that "it was part of the contract". When I questioned the bill, Fred, the ARS representative, acknowledged it was a billing error and said it would be corrected, while also mentioning that similar situations had occurred before and was an oversight on billing department. ARS did not clearly explain to me that the second insurance check was specifically for reconstruction. Trusting ARS to handle the process properly, I paid both checks to ARS in good faith, believing the reconstruction funds would be passed along to the reconstruction company THEY referred me to and THEY had worked with on previous projects. Once I discovered the issue, I repeatedly contacted Fred and ARS billing and requested that the reconstruction funds either be paid to the reconstruction company or returned to me so I can pay. My insurance company provided written documentation confirming that the second check was for RECONSTRUCTION--not remediation. Despite providing that documentation and numerous efforts of reaching out, ARS has not returned the funds and does not respond to my calls, emails or texts. Fred subsequently provided what I found to be conflicting and confusing explanations to cover up this mistake regarding the original contract amount and its use as a starting point for negotiation with the insurance company. I was specifically reassured and told by Fred that my obligation would be LIMITED to ONLY my deductible, and I relied on that representation when I hired ARS. I am pursuing this dispute through the Nevada State Contractors Board, Nevada Attorney General, BBB, IICRC revoke or remove ARS certification and other appropriate channels to seek clarification and resolution regarding the disputed funds. MY ADVICE TO HOMEOWNERS Based on my experience, I would not recommend ARS for remediation work due to their deceptive trade practices. Fire Restoration Services…read more I had a small kitchen fire and wanted to procure fire restoration services to take care of any soot and smoke damage. Any visible damage was mostly contained within kitchen area. I looked up local companies on Yelp and decided to get a free quote from Independent Restoration Services. They came out the next day to check out the place, provided a quote within a few hours, and were then able to start the next day after obtaining work authorization. I placed my trust in them based on their reviews across Yelp, Google, and FB. At first I was a bet skeptical due to only one person making it out on the first day, which was due to a combination of scheduling issues , others being called onto different sites/projects, and overall just being a small team. But in the end they still finished on schedule as initially estimated, despite having less manpower than I had expected. They were thorough with the restoration - my place was just as clean as before, and in some places even cleaner. They kept me assured throughout the whole process and answered any questions and concerns I had. There was a misunderstanding on my end where I thought they would also clean the air ducts, but since that is not something they provide, they offered to go 50/50 on subcontracting a duct cleaner. And at the end, they agreed the initial quoted estimated cost seemed a bit too high, so they were willing to adjust the final bill downwards. Overall they provided quality cleaning and restoration services, were flexible to work with, and did not seem like they were out to get my money. We were left unsure of what work was being done, what to expect next, and received little guidance throughout the process. Most concerning was that an individual who is not directly employed by the company was sent to our home to perform work, especially concerning given that we had given this company permission to enter the property while we were at were but then they sent an "independent contractor". This alone was unsettling. During that visit, he entered our master bedroom multiple times with no explanation or reason, and when questions were asked, he avoided answering by repeatedly walking away downstairs. This behavior felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. After remediation work yesterday, our home was left with an overwhelming bleach/chemical odor, and no recommendations or safety guidance were provided regarding ventilation, air quality, or whether it was safe to remain in the home, especially concerning given that mold remediation was involved. This has been an incredibly scary situation for our family. Recently learning there is mold in our home, and having a 6-year-old child. In a situation like this, transparency, clear communication, and simply being treated like human beings would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, that was lacking throughout this process.
