Just had my very first visit to Texas Roadhouse yesterday, & it definitely did not disappoint…read more I have been told countless times to try Texas Roadhouse, & I'm very upset it took me so long to give it a try, because I will definitely be back. What I have been told are the biggest draws for customers are their free peanuts, that come in a metal bucket at your table, & there is a sign at the front welcoming you to throw your peanut shells on the floor. This is kinda gross and makes the restaurant look pretty dirty, but humans are filthy so who doesn't love being able to make a mess! Even though there is also an empty metal bucket next to the one filled with peanuts, I highly doubt many people use it. I am sure there should probably be a sign outside the restaurant about the peanuts, considering a highly allergic person would probably not even be able to walk into the restaurant, however there was none that I could see. The biggest draw though, especially for a carb lover like me, has to be their delicious complimentary rolls with amazing cinnamon, honey butter! You can get as many as you would like, & they were so good, we asked for an extra basket, just to put in a to-go box later on. But, let me tell ya, we were having a late dinner, & every single roll we took home was still gone before the end of our night! The food was very good, & although I'd heard that they could be expensive, it was really no higher than any other steakhouse type restaurant. Most any of the meal options came with your choice of 2 sides. I chose a house salad, which was the best side salad I've had, complete with shredded cheese, eggs, & croutons. It also had tomatoes, but I am not a fan of those so I just took them off. There was more than enough dressing to go with my salad as well. For my second side option I chose a loaded baked potato. You can get any of their potato options (mashed potatoes, baked potato, sweet potato, or fries) loaded for only an additional 99 cents, which is much cheaper than other restaurants I have been to. I made the mistake of not thinking about the fact that a loaded potato would have sour cream, and didn't think about it until my food had already arrived. We asked if we could get a new potato with no sour cream, & our server did not sound bothered by this whatsoever, brought us a new one and let us keep the old one, which my boyfriend ate with his meal. The potato was good and had a huge amount of cheese and bacon on it, with sea salt on the skin of the potato, however it did not have nearly enough butter and was slightly dry. The dry potato would be my only complaint of my whole experience though. I am not big on steak, personally, and was not being very brave with my first meal here though so I just got the chicken critters which I assumed were chicken strips, but they were very small pieces of chicken strips. They were good however and I was stuffed before even finishing my meal, but kept eating as it was so good I did not want to stop! My boyfriend said that his steak was cooked perfectly, as were his ribs, as he could pull the bone right out of the ribs with no effort at all. Fall off the bone ribs are always good ribs! Our waitress was great, even though she kept mixing up my unsweetened tea with sweet tea! She would catch herself every time before giving it to me though, which I greatly appreciated, as I am diabetic and try to stay away from sugary beverages. We were given a high chair for my 2 year old son and discovered the buckle was broken. Our waitress searched the whole restaurant for a high chair with a buckle that was not broken for us until she finally found one. This was greatly appreciated as we did not want to risk him climbing out and hurting himself. He is not always the happiest to go out to eat as he wants to explore everything and does not like having to be still. Our waitress even helped get him into and buckled in his high chair, which I believe he liked! She thanked us for dining there & wished us a safe trip home. She was a wonderful waitress! My only complaint about the atmosphere of the restaurant would probably be how loud it was inside. It was pretty busy when we got there so it was incredibly loud, but began to die down as we ate our meal. I had also always been so hesitant to try Texas Roadhouse because their parking lot is always so packed I figured there would be a long wait, & I cannot stand waiting for a table at a restaurant. The parking lot was pretty full when we arrived however there was no wait for a table, no wait for our waitress (other than us taking forever to decide what we wanted off their large menu of many options!), & very minimal wait for our food! It was a very good night, a good dining experience, &, although a little pricey for my budget to go all the time, we will definitely be back to try many more items! & get more of those amazing rolls with that delicious cinnamon, honey butter!!!

I ordered a veggie burger and side salad. We also shared an appetizer, firecracker shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, and my veggie burger was very good with fresh toppings and made to order. The salad was just ok, probably poured from a bag and the croutons too. Service was good. Our server brought us drinks as needed and checked on us a few times. Nice view of the river from our table.

My sister got chicken fingers and they forgot to bring the sauce and she told the the inattentive waitress that it was missing and she didn't bring it back until after my sister was done with her food. In between can never get her attention because she was too busy, flirting with four construction workers that decided to come in there to eat. She only had her and the four construction workers and she couldn't even pay attention to everyone. If I could review the hotel, I would, but the hotel wasn't great either and it's all owned by the same stuff. So there's just management problems everywhere. Save your money and go to other places. They're way more places in town. They're locally on there are much better and there's a lot of places within walking distance of this place that are way better too.
