a hamburger with lettuce and tomato

Tons of potential. My 1/3 pound bacon cheese wagyu burger would have been more flavorful if it would have been grilled fresh. Patty was lukewarm, dry, and it tasted reheated. $9.35 was the damage for one bacon cheese wagyu 1/3 pound burger. Would I eat this wagyu burger again? Yes, I would but I would ask the cashier to make my wagyu burger fresh off the grill to fully enjoy a hot wagyu bacon cheese burger. My bun was also cold to the touch and untoasted. For $9.35 I'm expecting a well prepared and correctly served wagyu burger. That said, I do not see this wagyu 1/3 pound burger trend taking off anytime soon. America is not ready for a 1/3 burger, many folks don't realize that a 1/3 burger is bigger than a 1/4 burger. A&W tried selling a 1/3 pound burger 25 years ago and that was the biggest hurdle, educating America that a 1/3 burger is bigger than a 1/4 pounder. In comparison, In N out sells burgers at $4 dollars each, Mc Donald's sells their 1/4 pounder for $7 dollars. $9.35 for a 1/3 pound bacon cheese wagyu burger is a stretch. I can see a trucker buying this, but the average Joe will spring for a cheaper option like a truckers hot dog or a subway sandwich. Bang for the buck it's not much of a bargain, but it sure is tasty and flavorful. Will do this again sometime in the near future. Follow me on Yelp. Jordan

I'll be honest, I don't know how this place has such high ratings, and I don't bother to waste my time reading through them. Because I'm going to cut through the Chase and give you my experience first hand. Place is clean, located inside the loves truck stop. The kid that took my order was super nice and professional, and actually knew how to spell my name, which most people can't, but then again, what do you expect when you have to tell people that coffee is hot and not to eat Tide pods? I ordered a double beef and cheddar BOWL, and explicitly told the nice young lad, that I didn't want the bread. So I'm confident he made the right order, and the "cook" either flat out doesn't give two shits, or just ignored my request. So now here I am, with a sandwich, with bread, which I can't eat and won't eat. "Why didn't you just return it" you're probably asking. Well, because I know better, and I'm not going to jeopardize my food being unsanitarily prepared upon return. Really sucks, I love arby's, but I'll never order from here again. Just unacceptable. If they were super slammed and super busy, I would get it, but there is probably four people in the joint. I just paid $8 for an addition to the parking lot trash can.

A romantic dinner alongside the curliest curly fry in history!

One of the few fast food restaurants in Cordes Lakes, AZ. Nice to have some nearby comfort food.

Took a bit of time to get our food since a large group entered right before we did, but food was definitely worth the wait. My wife and I both got a zinger basket each with thighs (cause we like dark meat) and it had a solid crunch - that chicken has some armor and delightfully crisp. Hot is decently hot, so while it won't melt your mouth off if you have some spice tolerance, it will make you sweat. The sides and sauces here are fantastic. Sidewinder fries are amazingly crisp, almost a hybrid potato chip and french fry. The sweet potato tater tots are also divine, especially with the blackstrap aioli. Slaw is also unique but needed for some freshness. Okra was a bit greasy and could have been a bit crisper, but if you like okra, you won't be disappointed. They got some cool merch too. Well worth a visit if you're in Sedona!

Had to double check though because we walked up and it was a gas station and a jeweler (which also looked to be part of the gas station) but yes, we were in the right place. The smell of the chicken was delightful as soon as the door opened. There was a bit of an unprecedented heat wave in Sedona but they had some potable air units blowing in the dining room to keep it comfortable. There is a sign on the counter that said something like "Pick your sauce level carefully. No refund will be given". They do call themselves the No Apology Chicken Shack. As nearly zero level spice tolerance, I was a little nervous to even go with the mild level. We got the Zinger basket with the coleslaw and the sidewinder fries. The fries were really good! If I were to order again, I'd go with the mac and cheese instead of the coleslaw, but it was super hot out and didn't seem like two hot sides + hot chicken was a good idea. The chicken was hot, that's my opinion. It was hot even at mild. I might have baby taste buds, but I was thankful the fountain drinks were self serve because I needed the cold soda and ice cubes. It was well cooked though and flavorful. I was bummed they were sold out of the pudding because that would have been a nice relief. I should've done the no spice but tried to be brave, a "when in Rome" situation. There were people sitting behind us that eating the hottest level they had and I was convinced they were seconds from combustion. All in all, it was a good experience, would return but would go no spice next time. Oh, one more thing, the bathroom situation was a little strange because you do have to go into the jeweler/gas station situation but it's okay.

The reason we came back on May 23 was because the food and service was so good on our first visit, as we were heading to the Grand Canyon, that we resolved to stop in on our return to Phoenix later that week. Our server on our first visit was Julie, and she was friendly, attentive, and very professional. My wife ordered the taco salad with ground beef. Julie explained that the ground beef used is also used for the chili, and that it was a little spicy. My wife is sensitive to spicy food, but she decided to give it a try. It was the highlight of her meal; just the right amount of heat and not overly spicy, and rest of the salad was fresh and tasty. The cranberry walnut salad I ordered was also fresh and tasty, although the chicken was a bit dry. Our son ordered the home made biscuits and gravy, which he said were delicious. The gravy was amongst the best he's had, and it contained bits of sausage. The serving sizes were all very generous, so there was no room for pie, unfortunately. Julie invited us to come back next week and leave room for pie, so we did just that. It was a really good meal, and a great way to start our vacation, worthy of five stars. Business was relatively slow on our first visit, but, when we visited the following Saturday, the restaurant was packed, since Memorial Day is the start of the summer travel season. We were seated within 15 minutes and were promptly greeted by Dakota. She told us the kitchen was out of numerous items and gave us a few minutes to look over the menus. One of the menus was quite dirty, with what seemed like maple syrup on the plastic-covered page. This time, I ordered the rib basket appetizer, my wife ordered a chopped salad with grilled chicken, and our son ordered the Rock Springs burger. On our first visit, the food took 10-15 minutes to arrive, on this visit, it took nearly 30 minutes. The ribs were meaty, but were room temperature, and seasoning was light and unremarkable. My wife's chopped salad was stacked high and served on a regular plate. There was so much salad that it was difficult for her to eat without the salad ending up on the table and, after 15 minutes, it looked like she'd hardly made a dent in it. She said the chicken was very dry, and ended up leaving more than half or her salad uneaten. Our son had no complaints about the burger, which appeared to be cooked perfectly. We each ended up getting a slice of the Dutch crust apple pie ala mode, which was served warm with a generous scoop of high quality vanilla ice cream. Rock Springs Cafe has quite a history, and the decor really shows its Western history. However, it looks like it hasn't been refreshed in nearly 20 years, and some of the posters, plaques and other things on the wall are in rough shape. The men's bathroom are unique, furnished with urinals made from beer kegs and more license plates than you can count. Rock Springs Cafe was a great stop for us, twice, and we plan to return on our next visit to the Grand Canyon.

We ordered heuvos rancheros w/o meet but the tortilla were fried and chewy and it was too dry with no sauce so no flavor at all. It comes with lot of potato though. Ambiance is like a cowboy which was great but I came for good food so is the rating

We got three burgers (waco kid, funghi sublime, and Italian stallion - first two had won awards but we were assured we couldn't go wrong), and a side of yucca fries. Maybe we came on a bad night but the burger patties were way too salty - two were very salty one was less so but still too salty for a good burger patty - it ruined what would have been very creatively curated burgers. The yucca fries tasted great, not healthy if thast what you're going for when you think of yucca since it's deep-fried in a potato batter, but it was good. We did still eat the food, though I had to down a whole glass of water with it (which didn't get refilled until after I asked for the check.. it was not a busy night, we were surrounded by empty tables). When asked how our food was toward the end of our meal I mentioned that the patties were too salty but that the yucca fries were good. Nothing was mentioned/done about that for us but hopefully they checked on that for the sake of the rest of their customers after us.
