Beef and cheddar with curly fries
Jason M.

Omg ... it must be a weird confluence of the delivery truck coming in, a customer who ordered it seemed like 43 different things and had special requests for everything, and a counter person who had no clue how to operate the register but we waited forever for our food. And when we got it, it was cold. A family of four walked out before they ordered because of the slowness and visible incompetence of the staff. The printer was out of paper, the store was out of many items including salad. Beef and cheddar sandwiches, fries, and cokes shouldn't have taken 12 minutes when we were the 2nd group in line.

Convenient location just off the highway next to a gas station. Stopped here for a quick break while driving. Always like their curly fries which were crispy and warm. Ordered hot tea which they said they do not have - instead took hot coffee. Coffee was just ok tasting - it was served in a thermos beside the condiment station. Wasn't even hot. The server seemed to be new as she kept asking another person for help. The place was neat. They had a cute sign at the door before exiting to ring the bell if satisfied.

Good location, very near highway, so you can make a stop and get back on the highway quickly. The staff was helpful - I'd give them 4 stars. We asked for fresh coffee and they made a new batch for us. They also told us that it will take some time to brew and if we were ok waiting. Their fries are very good - better than McDonalds. Seating area and bathrooms were clean.

Took 10 minutes to get my food, an extra 4 for my drinks, and although it was good, it was $54.67 for four people.

Staff was friendly when I visited. Food was on par with the rest of the chain, which is to say, so-so fast food. No complaints.

The Farmer’s Table

The Farmer’s Table

(58 reviews)

A small town novelty is this family farm- fueled restaurant. Only a 20 minute drive from my…read morehometown, the drive was well worth it to check out something new. I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

Los Agaves Taqueria - What you can get for $16 not worth it

Los Agaves Taqueria

Work in the area left me very hungry at about 3pm, when I decided to stop at Los Agaves. "A quick…read moretaco will do it!". Au contraire. Instead, a "leisurely" 40 minutes refueling body and spirit. I arrived dehydrated and a little dizzy. A small table, and an attentive waiter bustled over with chips and salsa (three types) and asked about a beverage. "Just water." He made that happen in less than a minute, and I placed a quick order of 2 tacos. Don't gringo out here. Soft flour is NOT what you want. What you do want is the double corn tortillas, made fresh. At first, I selected beef, but when asked about ground or steak, I rethought and went with the pork. Carnitas is a wise choice here. As I waited, I heard another customer exclaim that the chicken today was the best he had ever had there, and he has been there many times. And don't fill up on the chips. Not that they aren't good, for they are. The salsas are homemade and delicious. But you don't want to be too full for your lunch. This is not a place where you will receive a plate the size of a small turkey platter. It looks human scale, with tacos in holders nestled next to rice and beans. The tacos were perfect. But it was the beans that blew me away. (I am a bean freak - love them) Not a pale beige smear, not covered within an inch of its life with cheese. No sour cream in sight. Just honest beans, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not greasy, without that oily mouth feel. I asked the waiter, who I believe was one of the owners. "They taste a little different when my partner does the beans. But we do them here." We even talked about pintos vs. black beans. One taco would have been adequate, two was a luxury. And he kept filling the water glass, so that I left hydrated, ready to tackle the rest of my work day, and with a kind view of the world

We tried this place again. I will say that the place is now a full blown restaurant with a bar…read more But the enchilada sauce they now use is not the same as the last time. Still good place and still recommend
