The price point is reasonable for portions and quality. The variable is the service. Ordering can be chaotic with always one counter person trying to juggle take out orders and eat in customers with no established line protocol. Sometimes when the counter is busy the employees are flustered and not the most helpful or attentive. Once you've survived ordering, however, the food is delivered promptly and pleasantly. Be sure to ask for extra Zax Sauce for chicken fingers. Fries are good and salads are fresh. Not sure why a slice of bread comes with salads. I generally like Zaxbys and only critiques are the iced tea dispensers are frequently empty and there can sometimes be a wait for drinks as some try to figure out how the dispenser works. Also be aware not all the drink dispenser offerings are always available. All in all a good experience and especially for lunch.

What really made the experience good was the service. It did my heart good to see people actually working and interacting with customers. Something you rarely see these days. As their name suggests, all their sandwiches are assembled then steamed. Naturally, this creates an extra soft bagel. By their own admission this also creates and a gooey, melty, messy sandwich. Well maybe they don't say messy, but by the napkin "gauge", my California Steamin was a bit messy. My wife went with the Pirate. Did it work? With the "sammys" we had, yes! Tasty, not toasty.
