My dining partner and I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a local business owner…read more The place turned out to be pretty good (a 3.5 star but since Yelp won't give half stars, I'm giving a bump up). The way it filled up during our visit, it seemed to be a restaurant favored by the locals. While the decor is dated and the service was ho-hum, the menu offered enough variety for most anyone to find something to eat. I ordered the fried chicken and my partner had the burrito special. I started my meal with a salad from the salad bar. While it offered only a modest number of items, everything was fresh. I preferred the small salad bar to none at all. My chicken arrived steaming hot. It was moist and tasty. My mashed potatoes came with the gravy on the side as I ordered. Overall, I found it satisfied my hunger. My dining partner had the chicken burrito (which was recommended by the waitress). While hot and filling, my dining partner called it "alright" and lamented not ordering the chicken. Overall, the community suffers from too many fast food places and not enough local restaurants. If I visited again, I'd certainly opt for this restaurant versus any of the fast food joints.

I mentioned how slow it was at the window and the response I got was a shrug and "I'm the only one up here." No "sorry for the wait" or any sort of remorse. I understand if you're understaffed it's not your fault but it seems to be the trend at this particular. Burger King has that happened to me once before a couple weeks earlier with a whopper meal. I thought well at least my food will be fresh. Hashbrowns were lukewarm, and the bacon egg and cheese croissant was also lukewarm. The only thing that was hot was the coffee. Went through McDonald's drive-through with five cars ahead of me and sailed through in 2 1/2 minutes with the same order. These two establishments are all block apart. Is McDonald's just that better of a place to work where Burger King can't keep employees? I love Burger King food but I don't have time to sit in a drive-through that long. That's why it's called fast food. If I'm gonna wait 20 minutes I might as well just go to a sit down restaurant.

Though I'm not a vegetarian, I'd hate to have meat and veggies handled on the same glove with contamination happening. The server 2 took over to finish my bowl adding the ingredients as large cuts of veggies. The bacon was thrown on the top in strips. Unsure how to eat these items while on the go and without a knife to cut them. Server 1 checked me out, I said I wanted the meal. She asked me what size. I paid and then asked me if I wanted a drink, I stated I paid for it already right? With an attitude she said yes, I wouldn't ask you otherwise. I asked to speak to a manager. She came out I addressed my concerns she informed me that Corporate Subway no longer allows them to cut up the veggies for salads and the bacon is precooked so there is no concern for contamination.
