The atmosphere is that of a home rather than of a facility. The place is immaculately clean. Meals are home-cooked and healthy. The ratio of aides to residents is much higher at Greenview than at larger facilities and so all of the residents can receive individualized, timely care. The staff is carefully trained and very caring. The owner (Danka) has a wealth of knowledge about senior care and is expert at providing hands-on care herself. She is there daily, overseeing every aspect of the facility and of the care. Family and visitors are welcomed and become part of the loving community at Greenview. What a difference!

Top of the line Skilled Care, Rehab Center, and Long Term Care. My mother has been here for 6…read moremonths and I have had very few problems. The occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists are amazing. There's no such things as "set" visiting hours; I have literally come in to check on Mom at all times of the day and night. They really care about the patients here. My grandmother is a current resident and has been for years. I had an opportunity to visit her several times during a recent visit. The moment you walk through the door your immediately greeted by the receptionist. If you're lucky you came on a day that she made freshly popped popcorn. Walking through the home all the nurses are lively and greet you during your passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Loretta who was one of the staff nurses on site who was entertaining the residents. Her bubbly personality warmed my heart. I can tell she was well liked amongst the elderly. Rarely do you find an individual who enjoys her work. You can tell she very happy and passionate about making a difference. This meant a lot to me as I confirmed my grandmother is very well taken care of. The facility is very clean and organized. There is always something to do or a form of entertainment for the residents. I saw a performer sing to the staff in one room and another room crafts being made. I appreciate how they handled my grandmother during her time of care. One person who truly stood out to me was Steve I saw him interact with the staff. My grandmother mentioned he takes really good care of her. I find this home a safe place to leave your love one whom may be in need of 24 hour care.

My brother has been at the Nursing Care Center at the Village of St. Edward's at Fairlawn for close…read moreto a year now. In the previous four years he had been in five different centers for various amounts of time. None of them have provided him with the exceptional level of care he is receiving here. My sister and I feel very lucky to have him being taken care of by the staff at VSE. Other places had much newer buildings, with more modern amenities and open floor plans. However, the care provided at the others was never this good. He is well known by the staff because they have taken time to learn what his idiosyncrasies are and how to adapt to them to keep him safe. While he admits he is stubborn, the issue is with his impulse control, and he'll attempt to do something without waiting for the help he needs. Knowing this, the staff keeps a close watch and has noted the times of day when he's most likely to do things he shouldn't. They then make sure they are checking up on him to provide the help he needs. The administration provides regular Plan of Care meetings to inform us of his progress, let us know of any issues that may have come up, and to ask us if there are any issues we have or concerns he's made us aware of. None of the other facilities were as open and communicative as VSE. They call anytime there's a medication change, fall or other issue. We frequently had to leave voice mail messages waiting for days to get a call back from other places where he stayed. Sometimes we couldn't even get anyone to answer a phone if it was not during business hours. I highly recommend the Village of St. Edward's Nursing Care Center in Fairlawn.

First, the biggest thanks for the receptionist Sara- always smiley and positive, the physical therapist Jimmy who highly helped me within two sessions and another young therapist, unfortunately I don't remember his name. Without these three people this review would have just one star. My biggest dissatisfaction was with the main physical therapist- Michael. He did my intake and evaluation after which I decided to quit my therapy. During the intake, Michael was cold and didn't show signs of empathy to my concerning issues. He treated me as "another one with an issue". Short and straightforward answers without too much explanations of what was going on my hip. I felt uncomfortable because I talked about my vulnerability and I hoped to have at least warmer attitude. Anyway, I was determined to work on my issue. I was glad to know that I would work with other therapists who would assist me with exercises and my posture. I started coming twice a week for a month. As I mentioned earlier, the best two sessions was with Jimmy who basically pointed my issue and gave me direct exercises/ stretches that supposed to help me. Same was with the young therapist who stretched me and felt a huge relief from the stretch. After one month of physical therapy, I supposed to have evaluation. Long story short, Michael wasn't engaged or encouraging to continue my therapy. For him, i was apparently a burden because from the start of the session he suggested or gave me a clue that I would continue "therapy"/exercises at home. After every of my question and trying to hear opinion of an expert-him, Michael would ask "and what do you think?". Yea, right- I came to the therapy to understand what I thought... nonsense. In the end, I decided to drop off my therapy because I didn't feel encouragement or interest in me as a patient. Disappointed with this place, but thankful for Jimmy's work and smiley Sara!
