I would not recommend this school. From my experience, the way some students are discriminated against is concerning, and there appears to be a lack of cultural sensitivity and inclusivity. If you are considering sending your child here, I strongly suggest having open and honest conversations with them about certain type of people! so they are aware of how to navigate different situations and interactions." I've went to arbor view high school for 3 years and all I have to say about it is that it's HORRIBLE. Don't send your kids here!!! The teachers are rude and do NOT care! I had Ms. Pileggi as a teacher one year and she would yell at the kids, tell them to shut up, and I have personally had to defend myself from her. I also had Ms. Stewart and had to get SWITCHED out of her class. She would not let me use my own computer (which is NOT an AVHS requirement, chromebooks are only provided if needed) and threatened to fail all of my assignments in her class if I didnt use either my school account or a school chromebook. On another note, the schools policies are RIDICULOUS. They have grown adults, their administration, standing in the bathrooms ( i have even seen them peeking in the stalls) with minors. With 13-17 year olds. I don't know about what anyone else might think, but I thought it to be disturbing. This school is awful. Bottom line- don't send your kid here if you want them to have a decent education. read more

Have had four kids go to Arbor View and they've all had great experiences. Strong school spirit. Strong extracurricular and sports programs. We've felt blessed to be part of the Arbor View community. read more

I have had 2 children go to this school. One graduated in 2015 and the other this year 2020. I have found that the majority of the teachers at Arbor View truly care about their students and my children have been taught well. One of my children said that Arbor View prepared them better for collage then any of their roommates. Remember students will get out of class what they put into it. The school looks really appealing and like a good choice to the eye , but it's very much so not. This school is only good for socializing, if even that, but not learning. Majority of the teachers and staff seem miserable and act like they don't want to be there and the students suffer for it. Teachers grade and treat kids based off their own bias and all have their own agendas that they unfairly push onto students. The administration is Unbelievably Rude and disrespectful and majority of the teachers are as well. The staff/administration and some teachers seem very defensive and lost when asked about school procedures. I've been going to this school for 3 years and any of my piers or i can recall we have only been through about maybe 6 lockdown drills but when asked the staff said they do it "twice a month" which is externally untrue, they just tell parents what they want to hear and talk down to students. Yes Students are kids, but they should be treated with respect. This is a very stressful atmosphere and feels dangerous. No student should fear for their safety/heath/life while trying to learn. You are better off not going here if you want a good future or to even enjoy high school. All the students here KNOW this school is a joke. Their Bulling issue is unbelievable as well, every year i've gone here i've been bullied, i've been told to kill my self multiple times and i've had my life threaded multiple times , reported it and I got rpc'd for my own life being threatened ! This school is absolutely disgusting. They have zero value for your child's safety or mental/ emotional or even physical health, they only care about eye candy to make them LOOK good. read more

My daughter is starting as a freshmen this year. This school is so big compared to back home. However, it seams easy enough to maneuver your way around. School looks like it has been maintained and almost looks brand new. I met a few office staff and they seem friendly enough. I will update this once school starts and I have a better feel of the school read more

They discriminate against minorities and there's too much drama. There's bullies on the bus and your child will get RPCed if your a working parent and don't have time to constantly run back and forth to the school and the bully's parent does. They don't do anything about your kids being bullied and RPC them if they try and defend theirselves against the bullies. read more

This school is terrible. I know i attend there. Im a junior currently and am very unhappy with it. Ive been bullied twice there. In my freshman year i was harassed, threatened, and I was terrified for my life to go to school. I had physical and eye whitness proof of all this and arbor never did anything. Wait yeah they had a "peace contract." This of course did nothing except make the bully more made and then had others join in on tge harrassment and threats on my life. I repoted this but nothing ever happened. This year i was physically assulted and it was reported but nothing happened. Just another "peace contract." Im hate Arbor for the reason that they dont look out for their student body and pretend they do. In my sophmore year i had a teacher deny me a rigjt to go to the restroom. It wath 20 minutes before class ended and it was an emergency. Further than that she continuted to take my grade down simply because i had my mom call the deans to let me go to te bathroom when she denied me to go the second time. When i had to suck up and apologize for wishing to go to the bathrrom to pee is when she stopped messing with my grade and brought it back up. They have a dress code but let skinny girls or athletes break it with really short shorts or crop tops but any average sized girl does that and its a crime. Theyre unfair people. I never in my life thought teachers could be a childish and reckless with the care of students as I have learned in Arbor view. I joined color guard which works with band in my sphmore year and the teacher the band directors hired was awful. She yelled at me for having doctors appoinments that i had to take care of. She dropped my grade when I had to miss a class or practice because of a family emergency like my grandmother getting into a car crash or my health wasnt good. I had a panic attack at a practice and by a psychiatrist I was told to text a person that knew how to calm me down and i did and they took my phone, yelled at me to stop crying anf shaking. I was so messed up from their mental abuse and that night i was shaking and lookee like i didnt know where I was and i was in tears ans couldn't talk or move. They had no reguard for my mental or physical health or well being. I talked to the teacher and she said shed talk to the band directors for things but never did. When i didnt get my credit for that class I went to talk to them and they told me i was to blame because i didnt talk to them. I tried to explain all what happened and they kept cutting me off not letting me explain or tell them what went on. They were mad becausw i pulled out of the class. My mom paid for uniforms, equipment and other things like bus fees when I didnt even ride the bus. I didnt even get to keep the flags or uniforms that they said we would be able to. They never gave me the bag we paid for and when I had to preform they gave me a costume too small and eas cutting off my air flow. When i told them they told me I wouldnt preform and i had to deal because it wasnt important I couldnt breath because i wasnt preforming so i had to hold the neck line down for 4 or 5 hours just to breath. The teachers are horrible and have no respect or care or reguard for the childrens mental or physical health well being or nothing. They only care about tgier athletes which can bully kids and not get in trouble as long as theyre sellung tickets for arbor view. It may look nice and be "the nicest public school" but on the inside its a prison and so many kids feel this way but theres no point in speaking up when no one listens and nothing ever changes. Also now they're telling you which bathrroms you can and cannot use which means some have to wall across the campus just to go to the bathroom taking more time away for the classroom and lwtrinf the student miss more which makes tgem fall behind if they cant catch up fast enough for the teacher. Arbor view also cares more about the grade you get than about you actually learning the material itself.. They want to force feed you information and regurgitate all of ut on a test and if you cant you fail in life.... Who cares if you really retain any of the information. read more

They are a perfect example of why the public school system needs to be privatized to create competition and ensure that these teachers do what they are hired to do which Is teach. God help you if you have a child with special needs. They discriminate and the counselors refuse to help. All you get is your typical bureaucratic B.S. if they spent one tenth the time teaching instead of explaining why they can't help they might actually get something done. They complian they have to many students blah blah blah. You will get no sympathy from me. The staff at this school is incompetent and if they can't do their job they need to leave instead of complain about why they are incompetent.
