The beds were not made, the floor was filthy, the bathroom was disguisting, toothbrushes left behind from another resident and the toilet seat was broken! They got to know him: music he liked, stories he told, hobbies of his, and more. They took the time to know his family: our names, relations, where we were from, and so on. We would spend hours in his room and they would bring us trays of food directly to us- sandwiches, cookies, coffee/tea.. anything we needed! They took such great care of my grandfather and us, giving us one less thing to worry about in a tough time. When my grandfather passed, there was a sweet nurse next to him. He talked about how gentle and kind she was, and she was able to be right next to him as he passed away. It gives our family great comfort to know that he was in good hands before we could be there. Every single person we interacted with was so unbelievably kind. If you are nervous about leaving a family member here, I can tell you that, from my experience, they will be taken great care of.

The residents complain to the Corporate office, but nothing changes. The aides are few and far between and most don't speak or understand English. They don't understand simple statements like "I need my bra strap moved", they go to the desk looking for what you are saying. Heaven forbid you are having a heart attack or trouble swallowing, they don't understand. Until last week, there was no nurse on duty in the facility between 10 pm and 6 am (even though they advertise 24 hour nursing care). Housekeeping comes once a week (which is not enough). If you need more than "assisted living" care, as long as you can pay the room rate for 2 years, they will accept you. These people need more care, so that leaves the aides even more short handed. There are no security guards, but the doors are locked at night. 1 star is being generous.

We went in one time and heard cries for help. The front desk nurses completely ignored the cries and didn't look to see where it was coming from. My family and I followed the sound and saw a man lying on the ground after falling out the bed. We told the front desk and they said "we will get to him, don't worry." The facility has no compassion.
