More concerned about following their "office policy" and forcing medically fragile children to vaccinate once a month until they're up to date even if you have a medical exemption. Dr did not even ask or care to learn about our children's health history and before asking a thing about them went on her rant on vaccines. I have medical exemptions for severe medical issues for both children but she clearly cares more about their "office policy" than she does violating her Hippocratic oath to do no harm. Highly disappointed in such unprofessional, uncaring and medically ignorant care. Would not send my goldfish here much less my children. read more

Dr. Pottgen is wonderful! We took my first baby here starting in 2021 & had nothing short of a great experience every time we came in. My daughter always felt comfortable and so did I! They have sold once again and are under new ownership. Why are we part of Coastal Kids in LA? The new system is not user friendly and doesn't even provide full information that is useful for school,etc. Definitely inferior to the previous patient portal. Making appointments online seems difficult as well. As a customer for 12 years NSPEDS has finally hit the bottom! They keep trying to make money and selling to the next group. The staff says they're understaffed and the new system isn't as efficient as previous. Agree they are adding too many new doctors and not enough staff. I have never in 12 years seen people standing in the front lobby because there aren't enough chairs. Don't blame inefficiency on your new system. Coastal Kids is just wanting to make money by cramming us in like sardines and don't have enough support staff. So sad! read more

I'll start by saying the doctors here are good and so are the nurses. NOW. The staff at the front desk had my wife in tears because of how rude they were to her about our normal HRA employer health plan. Specifically the older gal with long hair, she said to another staff member "this is why i am not doing this for her" in reference to calling Cigna to figure out why the insurance wasn't working. Then she tried to be polite and make up for it on the way out. By the time she figured out the insurance, which was entirely her fault, she nearly turned away our sick child because of their lack of attention. They finally accepted her in as a walk in, but did not see our regular doctor. Also.. they knew when we first signed up we were on an HRA. Regardless, they have been charging us up front for each visit, then ALSO deducting from our HRA. If it wasn't for me noticing, I doubt we would have ever recouped the hundreds of dollars we overpaid them. And getting that refunded was a massive headache, since they use a third party billing group called arbor. I called arbor and their explanation was that they had no idea why the doctor would have charged us when we are on HRA. I just have no words for how disappointed we are. We were so in love with the doctors and nurses. It's honestly gross how poorly my wife was treated. Not even from a customer service perspective, just from a basic human decency perspective. We will look elsewhere for our sons health care needs. read more

The doctors are absolutely fabulous at this pediatrician. We have really loved our doctor, but we are going to have to move sadly. The office is unbearably terrible and mean on top of it. A few examples: (1) Today, I was supposed to get a vaccine, waited 30 minutes, and then was told my son was 3 days too young. I have no idea why they let me make the appointment in the first place and take over an hour of my time to not let it happen. I don't understand why the front desk does not have a chart that lets them know if its too early to avoid something like this. (2) I once went there, checked in, waited over an hour, and then was told that the doctor was on vacation. I do not know why they couldn't have called me to tell me that my appointment needed to be rescheduled and then had me wait on top of it. My time should matter too, but it never does to this office. There is also never, ever an apology. (3) The call line to get an appointment only holds 30 lines, so it will drop. I have been on the line for over 45 minutes waiting only to get dropped. I then drove to the pediatrician, with my sick child in tow, to get an appointment and tell them of this issue. They brushed it off and were very rude about it. They do not care. (4) I was once there for over 90 minutes waiting in both the waiting room and the patient room. I kept asking if they forgot us, and I kept getting a scornful response. Well, turns out they did forget us. It was the only time I got an apology, and it was from the doctor (the staff is incapable of apologizing or fixing things). (5) I once was in line and the 3 people in front of me were told that they were mistaken about their appointments, and they were not on this day. Well, that seems odd to happen to 3 people in a row (hmm?). One of these people had traveled for the appointment from another state, and the parent had double confirmed it. I wish the office had owned up to their mistakes vs trying to somehow put it back on the patient. (6) They have you fill out new paperwork every time you visit. With sick kids and whatnot, you end up going every 4 to 6 weeks anyway. So, every 4 to 6 weeks, you have to fill out entirely new paperwork. It makes no sense. There are many more examples, sadly. Overall, I will say that I feel the worst about the world and humanity when I am at this office. It makes me doubly sad because this is a pediatrician's office and should be a happy place. There is something about the rude service, incompetent staff members, and utter and total disregard for patients and their parents. They are just so unorganized and mean. I guess they try to mask their incompetence with the meanness back as a gaslighting technique? Further, as a woman, I think they feel fine wasting women's time as they don't value it. It's really sad. As a working woman, there are many straws that break the camel's back, but this is the one that makes me feel like I have to leave my job the most - between the constant chaos, the long waits, and the difficulties in getting an appointment with a sick child, it just breaks me. In fact, it's broken me. Lastly, I will add that I asked to speak to a manager this morning. Conveniently, one was not available. I was asked to go back to the waiting room to wait for contact information. I figured that a Yelp Review would matter more to the manager than if I emailed them because it could hurt their bottom line. That is so sad. I genuinely feel that they could truly care less (I would say they negatively care), and I really did not want to write this as I do love the doctors and I don't like writing negative reviews. I and other parents- would love for NSP to reevaluate hiring ratios. Your employees are being worked raw, because the offices are understaffed in all support roles such as front office and medical assistants, but NSP just keeps adding more doctors. Especially as you transition to a new (& not user-friendly) electronic medical records system, you need a consistent team to keep this office the premier pediatric office in Scottsdale. As a business owner, I understand the need to profit, but take care of your staff and support your physicians by hiring more support staff. We used NSPA for the first year with our baby. For the last 6 months it takes over an hour to get anyone on the phone and far too long to receive a response to a message on their portal. When they do respond it is 1 word answers and hardly anything valuable. Their patient portal was down for months right at flu season. Our child had months of RSV, Covid, stomach bug and eye infection and I need a reliable office. I do not recommend this office to others, the front office operations are too difficult to rely on. The staff always said "they know" of the issues but couldn't relay that any progress to make things better. The doctors even blamed new ownership. read more

First of all, this Facility scheduled my Son for a follow up that I did not schedule. I called to cancel the appointment because it says there will be a charge. 40 mins on hold to cancel, and no one answers the phone! They will then will disconnect your call after waiting 40 mins. The Portal is not working either. Customer Service is the worst here. They also have asked for a credit card to keep on file to bill directly after Ins pays. They run the card through automatically without contacting the patient first. I have worked in the health care field for years and a patient has 30 days to pay a bill after Ins pays. (I've always paid my balance due on time). The Doctors are wonderful, but, the Staff is what can make or break an Office. read more

Dr. Jeffrey Siegel is the greatest. I did a lot of research for pediatricians in our area while I was pregnant. I did interviews with potential peds. Did walk throughs, read reviews (of course), asked around.... NSPeds gave me a good feeling immediately as soon as we walked in the door. The front desk employees are friendly and understanding and so sweet. There is always a time they can fit in a sick kiddo. And even if it's not your regular pediatrician, they're all still great. Now, Dr. Siegel. He happened to be at Scottsdale Shea hospital the day my son was born, so he did all the check ups and everything. He made us feel at ease and didn't rush us through our many questions, even though I'm sure he had tons of babies to check on. Two years later and every appointment he has continued to be just as amazing. Dr. Siegel answers every question thoughtfully, realistically, and has incredible bedside manner. We honestly can't say enough great things about him or the staff. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Pottgen. She's been my sons pediatrician since he was born. It's great to have consistency and have her there throughout his years. He's familiar with her and he trusts her. She always takes her time with us and answers any questions we may have. If she doesn't have an answer, she finds out for us right away. The facility is also nice. It's clean and has friendly ladies working at the front desk. There are "sick" and "well" entrances which is nice in that it separate the kids who are sick and the ones who are there for regular check-ups. read more

DO NOT GO HERE... 2 years ago I loved this place. We moved and I don't know what the heck happened to them. I still continued to drive over an hour after we moved because I loved them that much ...but this last appointment .. i booked an appointment and was bombarded for 3 months to schedule an appointment and I was like I already scheduled it stop messaging call and all all day every day please... my son needed to be seen earlier I was worried about his breathing a little but(ended up at urgent care instead but would have loved to hear from his pediatrician on what to do) and I could not get through to anyone. My portal wasnt even working so I couldn't send a message to anyone. Ring ring ring ring, leave a message but disconnects you instead of giving you ability to leave a voicemail.. I tried every extension, even hit the option if I'm a doctor or hospital... nothing. They send me 500 messages calls emails texts a week telling me I need to Schedule my appointment but I can't schedule anything!!! I ended up getting a new pediatrician and still can't get them to leave me alone. 2 years ago I recommended this place to EVERY new mom, I do not trust them at all to be there if you need the.. I have not had a bad experience in 6 years. Always see a doctor who listens to my concern and finds the appropriate next step. Dr Pottgen is supportive and understanding as my primary care doctor. Again, every other Dr I have seen has been amazing and quick to resolve or refer us for additional services when necessary. While afternoon appointments can run late, try not to get too disturbed as you will soon be given first class care as well. We have been coming to the two offices (Shea and Deer Valley) since our children were born (one in 2000 and one in 2005). The doctors used to be good. Lately, you can never get your doctor, always someone new. They schedule appointments and then actually take you an hour and a half late (why don't you call us and let us know you're running so late). Random doctors you get don't seem to be knowledgeable or care. Several times we've gotten wrong diagnosis, including this week. It is sad that this originally a very good office gotten so bad. read more

Hands down the best Pediatric doctor EVER and the sweetest nurse in the world! Dr. Seigel has always gone above and beyond for my family. Dr. Seigel and his nurse Kayla always welcome us and make us feel like family. Dr. Seigel is an incredible doctor; he's treated my kids from the everyday common colds, recurrent ear infections to more difficult diagnosis. All 3 of my kids (2 very spirited little boys and 1 sweet little girl), actually look forward to hugs from Nurse Kayla and big high 5's from Dr.Seigel. Not to mention the reception staff is always so warm and welcoming and the answering service is always so understanding and prompt with getting us in for appointments. I drive 30 minutes to all of our appointments because they are the BEST. I refer every single Mom I talk to to them, because I know that they too will be in the best medical hands possible. If you're looking for a pediatrician, this is your Doc. I wholeheartedly love this group of talented medical professionals and we will forever be a patient of Dr.Seigels'. My kids are 6, 3.5 & 15 months and we have been with Dr. Seigel since my oldest was born and Dr. Seigel will see them until they're adults! read more

I have put up with this place for a little over 2 years the older staff is very rude that is consitence so congratulations. The longer haired woman in her 50's however takes the cake of the 2 oldest. The younger staff seems better , perhaps the world hasn't battle hardened them but a couple bad apples spoil the bunch and I want a pleasant environment.. Huge fan of Dr. Engel. Too bad we had to move away (Texas) but I was willing to make the drive from Peoria to take my kids to see her, and with an infant needing constant shot appointments, that is saying a lot. I will miss this practice - I also really loved how their well and sick areas are not just separate sitting spots in the same office but entire separate doors to enter through from the outside. We have been seeing a few doctors there for about two years. I love every single medical person there. My challenge with NSP is with the guest service people. They are all nice, but it is impossible to get ahold of someone there. When I call, I'm either placed on hold for 5+ minutes or when they finally answer- they accidentally hang up on me and I have to go through this whole process again. This has happened almost 95% of the time of me calling. Please hire more call center associates. This statement alone is making me question whether this is the facility for us. read more

We are very happy with North Scottsdale Pediatrics. Office staff is very friendly and the facility is clean and well kept. Dr. Siegel is our primary care physician and he is terrific. He is always very patient with my wife and I and our many questions as new parents. I love that he spends time at the beginning of each visit connecting with my son and doesn't just jump right into the examination. We have seen other physicians at this office for last minute appointments and have always had a good experience. After hours on call service is also available through the main office line. They are quick to respond when leaving a message (usually within 20 mins) and can help avoid costly and unnecessary ER or urgent care visits when your child suddenly comes down with something in the middle of the night and you aren't sure what to do. read more
