He gave me the thrush medication but didn't do anything. He strongly urged me to see Dr. Neilson, an oral surgeon, but I hesitated because he didn't take my insurance. I finally went and he was great, too. Mindful of my financial situation, he took his fee off. He encouraged me to get a biopsy, but then more money. He ripped out the phrase, "If you were my mother, I'd insist you get a biopsy." So I did. Turns out, it was pre cancerous!! He recommended me to Dr. Cordin in St. George, who did take my insurance, and I had oral surgery last week. I'm recovering well. Turns out, the final diagnosis was high-grade dysplasia. (pre cancerous). But it all started out by the great Dr. Eggen. Thank you SO much.

Cleanings, in the past, have been very painful and I truly had to convince myself to get another. Sierra was amazing. Very careful, thoughtful and gentle. I experienced very little pain or discomfort. The experience erased all fears I had stored up from the past. She is truly gifted. Dr. Melling took the time to explain the problem with my tooth and the options that he would recommend. He also noticed a problem that was on "watch" and made the x-rays to be sure it would continue to be monitored. I can highly recommend Melling Dental.

Long story short, I thought I was in good hands with Dr, Ryan S Gunn but apparently after issues…read morewith one of his staff members whom I believe was manager of billing and an unfinished crown as he decided we should part ways, my insurance company led me to another dentist in town I was not aware of and most of what Dr Gunn did had to be redone and now I am very pleased with results from new dentist. Most recent issue, a tooth crown he did only about a year ago literally fell off into my mouth after a simple gentle brush cleaning, I was shocked and now he refuses to be accountable for it and accusing me for asking him for more and more money over a previous refund check he wrote due to his office staff lady situation of attempting to over bill me since the to be crown over implant was mostly prepaid prior end of year. I am left with an expensive dilemma since the crown that fell off cannot be recemented over what is left of that tooth which was in fact a healthy tooth to begin with. Since June 25, 2024 my text messages are being ignored after I waited for him to come back from vacation. Or the staff is not getting the messages to him for obvious reasons. I reminded him of how the staff member out right lied to United Health Care agent that the tooth work was completed on the crown over implant, as she did not know I was on the phone listening. When I interjected the conversation, she went silent and then stumbled with excuse of how they had to order special expensive parts. Agent made it clear that no payment from insurance company is valid unless the work was finished. A check was sent them but had to be returned of course once I reported the situation. At that point Dr. Gunn did not want me as a patient and I agreed at that point since too much hassle was stressing me out. He said he was protecting his girls? I said from what? Incompetence he refused to acknowledge? So now I need to pursue this new situation and am very distraught to even have to go through this. I did not think I would ever need to make contact with him nor that office again. Sorry to say but I have all the proof I need to further this to legal processing. Dentists to my knowledge have insurance coverage for this type matter; I expect he should use that resource for my reimbursement.

The hygienist, Paula, said it was time for x-rays. I told her that I did not want x-rays because I have had no issues and I have other concerns as well (none of their business). She was a little huffy about that and said she would inform Dr. Banks. She came back and said he was mad I wouldn't do the x-rays. The cleaning went on as regularly scheduled and when complete she went to Dr. Banks and informed him it was time for my oral exam. Dr. Banks refused to do the oral exam and told her it was because I wouldn't take x-rays. Prior dentists have informed me that if I haven't been having issues it wasn't necessary based on my dental history. Dr Banks has always been nice but now has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism. I asked the dental office to have him call me....crickets. I am the customer putting money in their overpaid pockets. This isn't the first issue I have had with this office but the others were billing issues which they took care of them because of misinformation. These people are overpaid which shows by their extravagant office.

I decided to give them a try and submitted a request through their website. The very next day, Sarah from the front desk contacted me and was able to schedule me for a same-day appointment. Dr. Trevor White and his team took excellent care of me. I'll admit--I'm someone who typically dreads going to the dentist--but he made me feel completely at ease. His communication was clear, and his chairside manner was exceptional. I never felt out of the loop or unsure of what was happening. I even went ahead and scheduled a cleaning, and I'm hopeful the same kindness and professionalism will be reflected in the hygienist's care as well.

He has had a sore tooth for over a month , but we had to wait for our insurance to pre-authorize the crown. We get a call today that they never got a pre-authorization. I called our insurance and they never received a prior authorization request. The dentist office said it was a technical glitch. Now, they want us to wait another 30 days or come in and have it fixed and hope the insurance covers it. During my conversation first with Jessica, the comment was made that this is a "courtesy that they do for us", but it is our responsibility to contact our insurance company for payment. I have never heard of this before for dental insurance. I asked Dr. Elkington to call when he had a moment. I just got his call and he came on very defensive from the go. I was trying to say, that my husband should not have to wait another 30 days for a crown and he said then come in. If insurance denies it, you will have to pay. I can't see why they would deny it, when his tooth is cracked. Patient care should not be about the bill and more about the pain in the tooth. I was shocked at how he was acting. I mentioned that I never was rude, when I drove down from an hour away and my appointment was cancelled, (due to an emergency in his office). His comment "well next time my worker has a stroke...I will make sure to call you first." Very unnecessary and so unprofessional.
