So we looked up the reviews and pictures from African Mecca Safaris and decided to contact Ali. Ali first told me to tell him what your preferences and hesitations are and I will address each one. I literally had a whole list. Lol. I am scared of animals coming too close to us. I am worried that we will get sick. I am worried about safety. I am worried about staying in cabins overnight all the way in Africa. I wanted a mix of safari and beach. My husband wanted to take his dad on this trip as his retirement gift. This was the initial reason we started planning it a year ago. He literally answered all our questions even on what to pack for the trip. Ali had to accommodate 3 generations. My father in law, me and Saad, and of course our kids. We had a meeting with him and he went over all our concerns and he came up with an itinerary that was just right for all of us. He gave me different options and didn't rush us to finalize things right away. We did a mix of safari, beach and some historical sights. We were welcomed by two people right when we got out of the plane and we literally had someone with us for the whole trip. He arranged all of the local flights. Again someone stayed with us until we boarded and someone was always there when we got off the plane. We didn't have to worry about one thing. His staff in Africa was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure that we are comfortable. Ali was always in touch with us too. During the trip we always had excellent views, beautiful and clean cabins with attached bathrooms. We had wifi, electricity and very comfortable beds. I literally didn't see any bugs in our cabins. We had booked 3 cabins and rooms in every place. Each one with its own special view. We had a nice family villa with private pool for us in Zanzibaar. I noticed that a lot of people were doing group safaris and tours but we always had a car, a chauffer and a dedicated guide just for our family. Ali is a parkland dad and he knows these kids really well. He made sure that we all stayed comfortable through out the trip. He honestly provided us with way more than we asked for including two surprise cakes for my father in law for his retirement. Me and my husband can't thank him enough for all that he did to make this such a memorable trip for all of us. Also no one, literally no one got sick during our trip. I took so many medicines but the whole pack came back untouched. I am so glad we pushed ourselves out of our comfort zone because it was all worth it. The guides were very understanding and cooperative. We saw the big 5 and a lot more. Lions in action. Cheetah's taking a stroll. birds chirping. rhinos, giraffes, elephants. Zebras playing around. I am already missing our bonfire dinners, wake up call coffees, African hospitality, breakfast in the valley and not to mention the yummy fresh juices and delicious lattes. Witnessing how all these animals can live in so much harmony was mind blowing. I realized animals are content with what they get for that day and are very happy to chill and enjoy the sun for the rest of the day. If you really want to see and understand the meaning of Hakuna Matata, please go and learn it from those animals :)

Raza helped us prepare the paperwork and officiant to have a truly valid marriage happen. Unfortunately, COVID derailed the official wedding plans as the Kenyan marriage office shut down the day we were there to file the paperwork. Raza was in constant communication with us every step of the way to ensure we were able to maximize the rest of our booking and safari plans, including a photographer for engagement/wedding photos. We had a great trip with the itinerary that Raza setup for us with Governors and would highly recommend Raza to plan your Safari and any unique requests that you may have. It's because of people like you that we now have to be careful with helping or giving too much information to anyone who inquires. We have no interest in ever working with you." Such a response is juvenile just because they did not get the business. This is abysmal customer service for the line of work they are in. Are these the type of people you want leading your tour?

I traveled with Creed and Laura on their trip to Italy a few years ago - and man oh man it was the…read morehighlight of my year! It was the perfect ratio of education to fun. Creed is a vault of knowledge, so it was superb having him narrate as we went place to place. I don't have much time at this point in my life to plan out a trip, so it was nice to just show up and have all the logistics with a seamless, well thought out itinerary already in place. It should also be noted that the small group size was a huge plus! I will most certainly be traveling with them in the future.

The route was a little hard to follow as there was some construction and we had to backtrack several times but eventually we got to see them all. Pretty much spent a full day enjoying the scenery and the covered bridges. Some were in a lot better shape than others. This one was in great shape with fresh paint.

Bogert Covered Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge located in Allentown Pennsylvania. It is…read morea 145-foot-long, Burr Truss bridge, constructed in 1841, one of the oldest covered bridges in the country! It has vertical plank siding and a gable roof. It was also restored by the Allentown Parks Department. I've been to this bridge many times over the years as it is right next to the gift barn for the Lights In The Parkway attraction in Lehigh Parkway. It is because of this I've only ever seen the bridge at night, but it seems awesome and I do have a desire to see it again during the daytime one day!

They had some visitor information pamphlets and they sell the tickets for the historic trolley tours inside, but if you are looking for a train ticket, be sure to go to the booth at the North end of the building. They do not allow dogs inside, but we were able to take our dog on the train, so my husband and I had to take turns standing outside in the cold with her while the other went to the restroom and looked around. We didn't find much to do in the city and we didn't love our train ride, but as far as visitors centers go, this one is solid.

We recently stayed at SB for a 3-day weekend and had a wonderful experience. Upon entering the…read moreproperty, the grounds and facilities were immaculate and conveyed a sense of pride. The main building consists of the camp office and store, laundry and bathhouse facilities. The large swimming pool and community area/fire pit were adjacent. The sites are very spacious and not on top of your neighbor! SB probably has the most space between sites in most of the campgrounds we have visited. In addition to being spacious, the sites were very level, with good water pressure, and consistent power. Our site was gravel, but there are quite a few with concrete pads. The recreation amenities include a playground, basketball courts, gaga ball and swimming pool. The pool is large and appropriately sized for the size of the resort. We loved how there is a sitting ledge along the outside of the whole pool. Regular activities are scheduled for guests throughout the season. It was the yearly cornhole tournament on our weekend, which was well organized. French fries and fresh corn on the cob were free to all guests during the afternoon of the tournament (both delicious). The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The Manager was always visible not only at the facilities, but regularly driving around the resort checking on things, delivery wood, etc. He would always go out of his way to help a guest. The only minor negative of our stay was the poor WIFI strength. WIFI was good at the main building/pool, but non-existent farther out in the campground. Stony Brook is an amazing RV Resort which we plan to include on our regular rotation of places to camp! Highly Recommend.

All I can say is I've been camping my whole life (49yrs) and have never been to a campground this nice. Small stocked pond to fish, very clean and well kept place, clean good tasting water, showers are equally as nice as the MGM penthouse suite or the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, they have a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen where on holidays and events they cook for the campers, laundry area, then there are the upgraded mini deck sites that come with Adirondack chairs, all sites come with water and electric (probably sewer hook up too but we didn't talk about that). If I didn't own land up here to boondock on, I'd stay here in a heartbeat. You should give it a try!
