I arrive slightly late but the receptionist was fine with this. I was offered a drink of ice cold lemon water which was greatly appreciated as this so-called spa and 'place of retreat' had NO air-conditioning. Anyway.... I am shown upstairs and seated as the hairdresser is running 15 minutes late. I am told that the appointment would take about two hours, although when they phoned to rearrange my appointment they told me it would only take an hour??! The place was so hot at least two other customers commented on it too. The music playing in the background was rather un-spa like, I learned later it was the hairdressers iPod playing. Whilst waiting for my dye to take, I spotted Boots mousse... high-class establishment?? I think not. I was then taken to have my hair washed (where they did have spa-like music playing) and the lady washing it kept sighing heavily. This was making me feel uncomfortable on a few levels- was the dye an issue, was my hair falling out (as I wasn't offered a skin test), was she just fed up with the fact that she was lumbered washing my hair. The Balinese head massage was really just a massage which I get when they wash my hair at my usual salon. Nevertheless it was relaxing and she did a good job. The haircut was .... ok. We agreed on a simple cut. She tidied it up and gave it some style at the front (in itself confusing when we misunderstood each other) although I am not totally convinced it's symmetrical (it's supposed to be). She didn't tidy my layers which definitely needed it. I wouldn't return, I wouldn't recommend it. I would say that it is newly opened and the hairdresser said they were having a few 'teething issues'. Let's hope that their other branches are a little more professional given their location and pricing. If you're going to sample it, wait for a promotional 70%+ off.

Price for the gym only is expensive at £65/ mth and the spa use is more expensive. Spa and gym membership is £90/ mth and include access to steam room, sauna, solarium, and even a snow room, which is quite novel. There is a hyrdropool which is good for relaxing in, but sadly no swimming pool. Membership includes discounts in the hotel restaurants and 2x guest passes for the year to treat friends. Overall the facilities are pleasant and the staff are nice, however the price is quite high, but then if you attend regularly it is worth it.

Not only do you have to get a card you have to sign in. Sometimes you get in line and wait! Who needs that extra hassle. Then when you leave, you have to go back to the 3rd floor and get the card with your name on it again. Wait, wait, wait. - they don't listen! The staff at the counter don't take any notice of issues in the gym. - no one cleans up the gym during the day - so towels are laying around, weights lying everywhere - no liquid cleaner or paper in the dispensers to clean the equipment before and after you use it - yuch. I asked 4 times, then finally brought the liquid bottles to the counter on the other floor for them to refill. Seems they can't be bothered - machines don't work and stay that way. Not regularly maintained. Signs sit on them for ever. - lots of the tv screens don't work - the room itself is really quite small yet they charge £65/month - the steam room and sauna are not part of the gym membership - you have to pay a lot extra to enter the spa area. - the staff use the changing rooms as their changing rooms! Not cool. - the music OMG they either have no music or they put it on a radio station and turn it up loud. Ever try to work out with someone's voice talking loudly on and on - not music but the chat in between. Really cheap. - If you talk to the manager, Ludmela, she just says, "It's policy" to go through the sign-in/out regamorole. Yes, they are looking for someone to look after the gym! So they didn't say that when I paid up for 3 months. GIVE THIS PLACE A MISS

I'm most familiar with Clarendon Cross but have also visited Primrose Hill and the Selfridges locations. Selfridges is a never return. It's the opposite of relaxing and has more of a busy coffeehouse atmosphere. Plus, the massage was awful. Inexperienced person dousing you with oil. What's the point? Primrose Hill has been my best experience. I went in for a facial and the gals at the front desk are great. I felt great about my service and went on to add mani/pedi and purchase products. The mani/pedi station with the headphones and classic TV on retro sets is a nice touch. Can't speak for massage there. Clarendon Cross was my favorite, at first. It's tucked away in Holland Park and I was able to walk to and from there and my hotel, major plus. Initially, I had several great massages here that helped me tremendously with jet lag. I also had a super helpful speedy facial and chilled in the mani/pedi station watching the episode where Monica asks Chandler to marry her in your favorite new york apartment full of candles (yes!). THEN, the decline. The reception attitude has grown lax in the customer service area. The woman who "welcomed" me today seemed like she preferred I hadn't shown up. My masseuse was yet another amateur. She pumped LOADS of oil all over me and simply has no idea how to touch bodies therapeutically or doesn't care. When I left, reception asked me how it was and I said "alright". She didn't inquire further about my lack of enthusiasm or say anything else at all to me. I waited in the lobby for a cab without being acknowledged or asked if I needed water or given after massage care tips. My car arrived and I left without a word to or from anyone. This was my third bad massage at the Cowsheds, collectively. I will not return. Their customer service has declined and they have lost good masseuses and replaced them with people who I can't imagine are even licensed for body work. Too too bad. I gave you the benefit of the doubt but this is a break up you earned and if your bad service continues, you will not last.

After four months of carting around my newborn and being physically exhausted from lack of sleep, I was desperate for a bit of pampering. Fortunately, my mom-in-law had recently given me an online gift certificate to Cowshed! I booked a 45 minute massage with Ashley and entered Cowshed to find a clean, cozy and well decorated spa. The massage itself...no exaggeration, with my eyes closed, I felt like I was lounging on a beach and the waves were massaging me. Ashley's movements/massage were so fluid and there were no awkward pauses while she pumped more oil on her hands or changed positions around the table. I left regretting having not booked a 60 min massage! The spa is not super close to a tube station and it's certainly a bit pricey, however the price will absolutely not keep me from visiting again in the very near future!

No wonder the recent poor reviews and no wonder their desperation by reducing their prices and sending offers ,to attract customers . One of the receptionists at Earl's court named Bella is rude .she talking to her colleague while I was talking with her ! I contacted Headoffice who promised better customer service and professionalism however ,this person continued to be rude . I called to book massage and enquired to use one of the vouchers they provide to loyal customs but she laughed ! I was very offended from such rude and unprofessional behavior .  My understanding is that you offer the vouchers to your loyal customer when they purchase package to use them and I never used any of the 5 vouchers ,so anyone would expect from a presumable professional salon to deal with  customers in a respectful ,decent and professional manner ,rather than such disgusting and offensive behavior ! I contacted the head office again about this person's rude and unprofessional behavior but no acknowledgement or apology !!! They used to be good 10 years ago but obviously they fell very short of the required professional and ethical standards ! I usually go to Blink in Selfridges and have done for the past three years, but I was at the mall and my unkempt eyebrows were making me look distinctly beast-like, so I thought I'd take a chance on the new. Mistake #1. I was silently handed an information card by the beauty therapist and quickly filled it out while she stood directly in front of me with a scowl on her face. Bad sign. When she actually started threading me, I had to stop her at least five times because she was being too rough. In retrospect, I should've just walked out then, but I thought, "Just brave it, sister. You've got to get this done, you're going out tonight and you need to look good." Mistake #2. When I told her to stop because she was being too rough, she sighed, stopped and cut her eyes at me. Really professional, eh? After she finally finished threading me, she glooped on soothing gel without brushing the stray hairs of my face, left the cotton pad which was sopping with gel on my forehead and started to give me a head massage, which I certainly didn't want. The whole experience was totally unprofessional and I'll never go back. If you want your eyebrows threaded in a nice environment with beauty therapists that act professionally, go to Blink in Selfridges or Fenwick. Avoid this place like the plague!

Compared to my experience at Blink, my service here was slower, more painful, and my technician was rougher. She managed to wipe every trace of shadow off my lids when try to remove fallen hair, and left a sopping wet cotton round in the middle of my brow while doing what I think was supposed to be a head massage. I would have preferred to have actually had the post removal gel rubbed in properly, and I would have really liked to have not been forced to fill out a comment card while she stood right in front of me. Not to mention the fact that the space to leave a comment was about as big as the space you sign on the back of a credit card. I won't be going back. My service light years removed from what I read about in publicized reviews. No magic desensitising oil. No brow massage. No engaging technician with tips and tricks or lotions and potions. and the shop in Westfield is not the least bit "cosy" or "inviting". Not sure who wrote the reviews on their webpage, but maybe they just got the creme de la creme experience, while the rest of us are left with mid-day, mid-week, meh.
