Muffler was there just not attached and needed to be screwed bolted back on. I paid $550 for this self propelled mower which ran great by the way. They said it was too basic a machine for them to work on and implied it was a cheap machine. Was told they could throw it away for me and go buy a new one. Balderdash I think by other reviews that a class action suit is definitely viable and would be successful. Other have also been taken for a ride. And the insulting way I was treated did not help. I am contacting the manufacturer MTD and will see if they agree with the disparaging treatment of one of their customers and slam on their product. A copy to the retailer Rona would not hurt as I am sure they also would not like it to hear their customers and product to be degraded. I presume the family that runs this business is happy "Nichol and Diming" in order to achieve profit. Do they really throw the "unrepairable" machines out or use their parts or just blatantly resell after the repair is done. They want a signature to offer up the product for their use. Suspect No?

As a medium sized landscape maintenance and snow removal contractor, keeping equipment running can…read morebe challenging sometimes. Extreme cold and snow cause the biggest issues because they are often unexpected. We needed to plan for that, and we decided to give Alberta Small Engine all our business a few years ago, and to build a long term relationship. We needed a new machine this winter, and they are in short supply from the manufacturer so we made the mistake of buying it from a different company that had it in stock. We found out after the fact because after sale service is non existent and we couldn't even get a returned phone call in literally over a month of trying. (That company will be getting an entirely different review lol) The machine went down this morning, and within an hour of talking to Mason, it was dropped off, taken apart, and is well on its way to being repaired, saving the day. They are even fixing some of the initial assembly errors made by the other company. Service, knowledge, parts availability, and staff attitudes are the things we value most, and we get it all from Alberta Small Engine.

I started it up in the store and was immediatly shut down. understandably I apolagized then ayoung man came out of the back and tied right into me, told me I should know betterand I apolagized again, this time he told me I could take my blower and F.... right off, we cursed back and forth and I left never to return. I went there feeling good about the place and I would deal there inthe future but they sure put an end to that. Not the way to treat a potential customer.

The clearance sales are great too. We hadn't really considered this store as an alternative to your average big box hardware store, but it really is! They have so many things! From brooder chicks in the spring to lawn sweepers to tow behind your ride on mower in the fall, fencing, Clothing , in sizes that fit so many average real women! There is camping hunting and all the stuff for growing your own food. It's amazing. Plus, propane tank swap program so you can get it all here. Bike racks if you have that locomotion. For accessibility, the aisles are a bit tight, two wheelchairs won't pass but otherwise the store is fair for accessibility. Wide spots for a ramp, easy curb access to the door. I did not evaluate the washroom facilities but will update when I do. The only reason I can't give them five stars as the online shopping is a bit challenging. Search is... a wrestling match to find something you were JUST looking at sometimes. Public washrooms and fitting rooms to try on the clothes... and sizes for curvy girls!! Did I mention there's even an EV Charging and parking spot?! Has become our go-to for most hardware and garden items!

Right now there is a sign saying up to 30% off everything in store. Truthfully everything is 10% off and the stock is getting quite thin. They do have Christmas items at 60% off while they last. There are a few things at 30% which may be okay deals. Things at 10% off you can probably find better deals elsewhere. I suspect deals may get better as stock dwindles and they want to get rid of everything so you may want to check daily on things.
