We were thrilled with the convenient location after traveling much farther for three other swim schools for our four year old. Not only was the staff incredibly welcoming but my son had his most successful swim lesson ever. He has done two YMCA classes and one at Tide Swimming which was a long drive but this setup was by far the most organized we have seen which makes a huge difference with so many families and kids around. The smaller lanes turned out to be perfect for him especially since he has been hesitant about getting water on his face. To our surprise he went in without his goggles which was a huge milestone. The platforms in the pool allowed him to feel safe and secure and even though I was not right next to him I felt completely at ease. The instructors knew exactly how to help him shake off any nerves and quickly got him smiling again. I could clearly see how much more fun he had here than at any other lesson. From the warm welcome to the little fish toy he took home the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Their website is also easy to use and makes it simple to find information and get started. We are now planning to enroll our nineteen month old daughter who was practically begging to get in the water. Honestly we had started to think swim lessons were not making much progress but today completely changed our minds. I can truly see our son starting to swim on his own here which is something I never saw at the other places. We could not imagine a better first day and are so excited to continue our journey with Goldfish Swim School.

The way they teach is like nothing we had seen. AND it works like a champ. After 4 seasons, our daughter is like a little mermaid. We starter her when she was 5 and she learned to swim on her own after just 4 lessons! Now she takes lessons to learn new strokes and just to see her instructor Rorie. She's awesome. Not only at this location but also other recreation centers as well! Parking is ample. You get full view of the pool to the left of the entrance and then the welcome/reception desk and even a peek at the indoor court. The membership signup was a breeze, the staff was helpful. Flyers of class schedule, pool and gym schedule and other locations are all available by the bulletin stand where you take schedule printouts. I cannot wait to start my early morning classes!

What a knowledgeable, professional, dynamic, fun, personable instructor. I instantly felt like I was in a training environment in which I was not just a customer but truly joining a family. Thank you so much, Chris. Additionally, the staff in the full service dive shop, who are most certainly also divers and/or instructors, were equally amazing. It was obvious that they weren't merely focused on selling or upselling gear. Thank you Mason and Chris for helping me select the right equipment for me. Finally, let me talk to my fellow retired folks who may have wanted to learn SCUBA, but now feel like that ship has sailed. Get off the couch, head over to the Lynnhaven Dive Center, and take that first step. You can do it, and you won't regret it.

We recently visited Potts 'N Paints (PNP) to celebrate a birthday. The birthday girl requested…read morepainting so PNP seemed like just the right place! The shop is pretty spacious, lengthwise. As soon as you walk in, you will see several shelving units of many ceramic projects of all different themes and sizes on the left, with tables in the middle and right side and cash out desk in the back corner. If you walk down the passage a little bit, it'll lead you to the paint area. I didn't walk all the way back, but I am assuming that leads to the party rooms as several people were led back there during our visit. The kids picked their projects and then one of their staff members, led them to the paint bar and explained the different kinds of paints and gave them some tips on how to use the paint and tools. Things to note: - You pay a studio fee plus the cost of the item (most things have price tags on the bottom of the item) - they claim to be the only open paint bar in the area. They let you use as much paint as you want, so be mindful and don't be wasteful - they have some options for drinks and snacks, although very limited, but I guess this can come in handy if you end up being there for awhile and get carried away with painting (drinks and snacks were very inexpensive) - you must go back at a later date to pick up the projects, so they can fire them up and glaze them. - they also have non-ceramic items for you to paint like canvas and wood The turnaround was very quick! Not sure if it was a slower time or if it's because we didn't have that many people in our party, but the items were ready in just a few days! I was so surprised when they called. Underpromise and overdeliver is always a smart business practice. Great place to pass the time and "make" something of your own. Stay safe, Friends!
