I called to make sure what time the appointment was and the lady who answered the phone had such a nasty tone. The way she spoke to me and my boyfriend with her awful behavior was absolutely unacceptable. I am so so upset after that interaction and I cannot believe she would speak like this to a client. Definitely not going back and taking my kitten to a vet who is respectful or somewhat decent to their clients.

I had to bring boy kitty back a few weeks later because he decided to swallow a plastic piece that got lodged in his intestine. He spent the weekend in their hospital, and when I called to check on him, the staff made such a huge deal out of him, saying he was the sweetest kitty and everyone was taking turns cuddling with him. The staff in the office also fawned over him, saying how wonderful he was even when they were working on him. They all seem to be genuinely concerned for the animals well being, and most importantly, understand that pets are not just animals!

Phew! I thought they closed shop forever. They vacated their spot beside K-Mart and moved to the…read morecorner of Elm and Main Street. I have yet to check out their new set-up. Their previous place was spacious and they even had an indoor koi pond with fountain that was my daughter's favorite thing to look at. They had a good assortment of fish- nothing fancy or unusual. And they had birds out of their cages, and reptiles (thankfully kept in their tanks). They also had a supply of live crickets for the pets that need them. Sure, Wal-Mart sells their fish and supply cheaper but you don't get quality service. The people at Tri Lakes are quite knowledgeable about the pets they showcase. For example, I went in to get fish for my daughter who was only 2 then. I was just going to choose some random fish since my purpose was just to entertain and teach my kid about pets. Of course, before I could walk out with any fish, the gentleman interrogated me about my purpose and if I had a tank ready (of course, I didn't even have one!) and if I knew how to care for them, etc. I was annoyed that he was so intrusive. Just give me the fish will ya?! But, I later realized that he truly cared for the fish he was selling. He just wanted to make sure that I was getting the right fish for my purpose and that I would take good care of it. At the end, he recommended that I get a Betta fish and he explained how to condition, clean and control the temperature of the water. And thanks to his advice and careful instructions, "Seymour" is living healthy after 1 year and 5 months.

I went through petsmart training classes, and they are OK. The trainer does a good job of giving…read morethe basics of how to train a dog, no more and no less. The thing with PetSmart though, is that the trainer has to abide by how the PetSmart company wants her to train dogs. This is great in a sense, as they focus on positive reinforcement, but for my dog, the way they wanted me to train Recall does not work for my dog, and the trainer is not allowed to give me any other suggestions, so it becomes a little bit problematic because not all dogs will learn the same! Furthermore, the trainer's do love dogs, and that's great, but they also purposely get your dog excited, so that your dog is happy when it goes to training, but this becomes an issue because now my dog is too excitedly overwhelmed when we go to class to completely focus on me, because the trainer has heightened her excitement and encouraged that behaviour so many times. Now with all this said, PetSmart has absolutely helped me strengthen my bond with my dog and helped me to train her into the best dog that she can be, but there is always room for improvement!
