I knew it wasn't the place for me when I walked in my application and there was genitals drawn with chalk on their cement walk ways and the garden was not attended to. The office attendant was adamant that I pay the application fee even though I was unsure. I pled with her that I would pay it if I could get a look even if the room was undergoing renovations. But they wouldn't let me see the product I was potentially buying into. After what I saw, no way I was going through with that.

Maintenance handled the repairs quickly and made sure it was done prior to going home. We did have a leak from the bathroom sink that dropped down to the vanity and created damage. The apartment was okay. The only downside is there's no room for a dining table to sit. Would've been nice if they took out the wall from the kitchen to living room and added a header, so you can actually have a table to sit down and eat a meal. Our meals were on the couch which was unpleasant. I never saw the migrant workers. It was nice to have a washing machine and dryer, however, it would've been really nice to have it indoors. The fencing had to be the issue for us since it was about 4.5 feet maybe less. Mailboxes were never secured. I could never lock my mailbox up when I got the mail; which is a huge safety risk, as anyone can just take mail and open it up. Huge concern for identity theft, especially during my time there, people were making purchases by buying expensive items and stopped when I moved out. Cops were always called out during the afternoon or the weekends due to someone violating their probation. Parking was a pain. Our neighbor would park so close to the white line that I couldn't use the driver side to get into my car, or even put one of my kids in. Pool is never heated. We were also never shown where the gym or anything was prior to moving in, so I can't say what it was like.

My husband and I have since moved into a house, but we really liked living here with our dog. We were there during the meth lab bust (it was in the adjacent apartment and the individual who did it was living there without the permission of the property manager) and it was handled professionally. We were minimally invoncenienced. Suggestions for improvement are customer service and get a dog park for the pups!

I've lived in every corner of this…read moretown, Mesa AZ, and Santa Cruz, CA and Kailani Village Apartments in Lompoc has by far been my best tenant/landlord relationship. Management is extremely professional, efficient and just plain helpful. I have been here two years and have NO complaints. The office staff always answers my calls or emails in a timely manner. They take their responsibility as a landlord seriously, if something goes wrong it is remedied immediately and without hassle. When I had a gas leak and the gas company red tagged appliances they were replaced with brand new appliances within 48 hrs. I have had two maintenance emergencies involving plumbing, one of which occurred late at night, and maintenance (who live on the premises) responded within 5 min. All of these issues are ones I could have had anywhere else and not a reflection on the quality of the apartments here what I am trying to convey is that management and maintenance are ON IT! EVERY TIME! The grounds are extremely well maintained, there is a Gardner here 1-2x a week. Maintenance patrols the entire property twice daily in golf carts and cleans anything they come across up. Rules are enforced strictly and thus it is a very very quiet community (the loudest thing is kids playing). There is not a pest problem but we are well maintained by the company's contract with Orkin. They do whatever pest control companies do to keep any pests at bay. I have accidentally left food out while I went to work and NEVER found a single pest of any kind which isn't so common in low income apartment communities sadly. Overall I am honestly hoping some of my family members can get apartments here if they move. It's hard to secure an apartment here because it's a little known secret that this is actually a hidden jewel in Lompoc. Apartments comparable in price here are not even close to as well maintained by Orkin or police. You just cannot find anything else like it I am so blessed to be able to live here!

My three year old has picked up not one but two used condoms, a syringe, and there are always beer bottles. NEVER let your children at the park by themselves!! Last but not least, the management does not care, they will look you dead in the eye and ask you "what do you want me to do about it?" Really? Maybe a background check on tenants, and well you know charging that kind of money for a two bedroom, get security?! The house is awesome and they allowed me to bring my 2 dogs, which was ideal. When I arrived to move in, the house was spick and span as the cleaning ladies were just leaving. There have been little to no issues in the 6 months I've lived here. When a minor issue comes up, Jessica Lombardo is immediately responsive and so friendly. They send a repair man over same day and take care of everything. The landscapers come bi-weekly and are friendly and efficient. I am so grateful for Blue Horizon, Rob, Jessica, and the landscapers and repair men. They even left me a care package upon move-in with popcorn, games, and a $15 gift card to a nearby restaurant! They also have 3D tours of their properties that include dimensions, which helps the moving and nesting process immensely. Highly recommend as they are the BEST!
