The rangers have a regular presence which I feel helps deter behavior that you might find at other (free) parks such as Sloan's Lake. The visitor center is small but truly a gem. You can learn a lot about what the park has to offer; it's worth stopping by at least once. Recommend coming off-season or less popular times because I'd imagine during peak that the lines are long and the park reaches capacity quickly. So plan ahead! My only gripes have to do with things outside the park's control. This includes the special snowflakes that don't obey the rules of the trail, and/or the road. I'm referring to dog owners that leave their poop bags on the trail for others to clean up. And the bikes that don't obey laws and put themselves and those around them in danger as a result. If you're one of those people, shame on you. Stop with the entitlement, learn some decorum and realize the world doesn't revolve around YOU. In closing, this wonderful park is worth a day trip if you don't live nearby. It's a peaceful retreat from the city and there is something for everyone to enjoy.
