This company is an absolute mess and is taking out their problems by gouging customers with extra fees, doing water and water sewage related disconnects without proper notification, charging reconnect fees, and while doing so, raising their prices by incredible amounts, while getting this type of service. Their new website only half works at best, does not accurately reflect your billing status, does not work in various ways, East Whiteland Township PA is really a mess and the same type of problems continue currently, yet you have no other options. read more

On the same day that Aqua mailed me a letter allowing for further info inquiry and 10 days for a formal complaint, they sent a rep with the 3-Day Shut Off Notice. So, while their letter was en route, their rep had already dropped off the shut off notice. My written objection to the exchange of my well working water meter for a newer model was logged by Aqua as the phone-initiated dispute of an Aqua bill - every item of which is invented: the fact of my call, the date of the call, and that I disputed my bill. So, either this "bill dispute" is a common category and is being used to disguise a meter exchange objection, skewing statistics, or Aqua is attempting a narrative that they are remedying my "bill dispute" by providing a new meter. Either way, what if "pants on fire" would stop being an idiom? What entity performs an audit of all the Aqua customers' correspondences and verifies the accuracy of what Aqua inputs into its system? read more

For a company, they're not so bad. Let alone "awful." Sometimes the customer service representatives are questionable, but the rates aren't so bad. It could be worse and you'd have American Water company, who tends to hike up their customers' rates often. Try researching first. I've been an Aqua customer for over 20 years. I have seldom seen major variation in my water bills. I'd also agree that if there is a problem, they are pretty responsive within a business day or so. My water bill was around 52-62 average for 2 people. Then I got a bill for 117.00 saying I used 9100 gallons of water. A new meter was put in in September. My cycle changes on the 17th when I looked at the meter on I October 24th it said I had used 6, 367.4 that is one week. So I paid that bill thinking maybe I had missed a payment. Then we used paper plates and plastic forks and spoons so I didn't run my dishwasher except 1 time which used 10 gallons . We didn't flush toilets except at the end of the day. They use 1.5 gallons. We have water saver shower heads so the average shower was 3 gallons. I stopped my detox baths for a whole month which holds 50 gallons. Every amount of water is measured and I used up every piece of clothing. I went to the laundry mat one time. Now I get my next bill and it's even higher it's 130.00. How is this possible. I called Aqua they told me to check my toilets for leaks which I did no leaks. Then said maybe outside pipe had a leak. I don't see how all the people I talked to in my neighborhood all had excessive water usage and higher than normal water usage. One woman said she was charged for 28,000 gallons of water. I called Representative Danielle Otten's office and was emailing Josh Finklestien and he was helpful in keeping them from shutting off my water. However I had to file with the public commissioners office I was sent a letter and I am waiting on what I need to send for my appeal. The PUC ruled in AQUA's favor. WELL of course they would they don't care. They are insisting that 2 people use 9200 gallons in a month. That is almost 306 gallons a day. I don't see how when my husband is gone all day. I don't use water during the day except maybe to make a cup of tea. My shower was 3.5 gallons and my husband shower is 2.5 gallons. Flushing the toilet about 8-10 times is 20 gallons. Add that all up still can't see how we are using over 300 a day. I do about 2 loads of laundry a week and that was 29 gallons a load. Still I can't find how we are using 9200 gallons in a month. This is not just me but people in my neighborhood and I posted into neighbors.com and I got a huge response from all other surrounding neighborhoods that this is effecting. Now after all my calls and emails and help from Representative Danielle Otten's office and Josh Finklestien my last bill was 48.00 so I guess my so called "leak" that they insisted that I had fixed itself. Such awful awful customer service, to have service restored due to a life altering situation and hardship, they give you a 12 hour, that's right 12 HOUR window for service to be restored and someone needs to be at the property...cannot pin down a smaller window, doesn't care that there are small children and a pregant mom in need of water. I've never dealt with a company that was less accomodating or helpful in a bad situation for the homeowner. I really feel bad for the employees that must repeat their policies to a customer like a robot on the other end. Aqua PA is awful. Invariably they screw up changing service and blame everyone else except themselves. In addition the PUC (Public Utility Commission) has allowed them to raise billing rates that far out pace COLA and the rate of inflation. That's why in southeastern PA your water bill has gone from $30 every three months to $30+ dollars per month. read more

In my 30+ years of paying for various utilities in different parts of the U.S. I have Never encountered a company more utterly indifferent to their customers than Aqua. I first contact them about 2 months before we moved from TX to PA. The rep on their customer service line assured me that everything was set. Then upon arriving we learn that our home has no water. It's the weekend so no one is staffing the lines. We spend a miserable weekend with no water (no toilet, no showers, etc.) with a small infant and three pets. Come Monday 9 am, I call and am told service was never established. I explain the situation and am told that their "policy" is to connect in 3 business days. I employed them (and even offered to pay extra) to turn the peter on sooner but it was useless. The person on the phone just kept repeating their policy like a robot. Aqua is a terrible company that cares NOTHING about their customers. If you can avoid using them do. read more

Aqua water has, bar none, the worst customer service. Plainly on internet you are routed to DOXO to make a paument. As they frequently tweek their website & presentation changes occur, this just seemed the norm. I scheduled my payment & it came out of my bank on 10-30-17. The morning of 10-31-17, while soaped in the shower the water stopped. After trying to explain to the representative that the payment was made & her saying she did not see it, I said fine, take out the payment again to which she added a reconnect fee & deposit fee. Aqua now has 2 PAYMENTS FROM ME! I have spoken to a supervisor as of yesterday who says they have nothing to do with doxo in spite of the fact I explained numerous times that at "Aqua" i was connected this way so there must be an IT problem they should address. Never the less when I requested a refund of the overpayment, including fee & deposit her response was they would not refund the fee or deposit (Even tho they had my money the day before). I must add that our neighborhood will never be included in Belmont city water as they cannot afford the pump station. THEREFORE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS ARE TRAPPED & AQUA KNOWS IT. I live in Ohio and have several rental properties. As with all utilities, I submit an owner/landlord revert form to allow water to stay on between tenants any time I purchase a new rental. This company has the WORST communication inside that I have ever seen. They are terrible. It does not matter how many times I fax info to them, it never gets to the right people. And the sad thing is, I have no choice but to use them. read more
