Instead of trying to work with me (the patient) and the physician they referred me to, it became my responsibility to sit on hold and be told by my HMO that the referral must come from the primary. My most recent encounter was having my prescription sent to another pharmacy after I completed the pharmacy information request on their form. If they don't bother to read, why bother completing it. There couldn't possibly be a worse example of uncaring, laziness from a group that you must entrust with your overall managed care. Tread lightly with this office.
