Terrible, incompetent and horrific. My father was here for 1.5 weeks for rehab after contracting…read moreCovid at SBH er while seeking care for a popped hernia. After 2 weeks in the hospital laying down all they did here was to walk him around on a walker once per day and not the first 3 days and not at all on weekends. A sadistic doctor, Dr. Nadal, took him off needed anti anxiety meds he has been on and was on at SB hospital, claiming it was due to low pulse ox, but his pulse ox was ok the whole time he was there. There was no bladder retraining as claimed, no real pt and when he called for help he was often ignored. I had to call the nursing station many times to try to get him the care he needed. He called me in a panic the first day, his bp had spiked to 190/100 and the nurse was nasty and aggressive. The next day after they did eventually increase the dose due in part to us calling, this crazy dr told him 157 which his bp dropped to bp was too low to fight covid. He told my 87 yr old father he could go to the emergency room if he left there. He was put on stool softener and mirilax every day which caused him to have extreme discomfort and runs and he was often left in his own excrement with pressure sores with no one attending to him when he called for help. When he came home earlier than the expected discharge after being very distressed and asking me to get him, they threatened him with ama and a huge bill. He was so weak he could not walk with a walker from the car to the house and needed a wheel chair. He then spent 40 minutes on the toilet. After the blood pressure incident the first day I spoke with a social worker who called who was extremely rude and unprofessional ( she hung up the phone on me) when I said I wanted him tested for covid again and transferred. This is one of only 2 places which accept covid pos patients. They only test once per week so they can automatically keep you there a week. In addition prescription rx I brought to him at SB er went missing. It was stolen either at SB or here. We have requested his records with no response. I will be making complaints. I called a supervisor at the adjacent hospital the first day who said she would investigate and call us back but she did not. Stony Brook Hospital & Peconic Bay caused him to have a severe pressure sore which never healed. 10 months after all of this they murdered him finally at SB hospital with numerous severe negligences everywhere. I am just publishing this review now but he was infected by SB Er in January 2021 and he eventually passed there in October 2021 from everything they all did, including inadequate home care.
