Wendy made a difficult situation (not least, emotionally difficult) far easier. Before we found Wendy, we spent the first few months trying many paths, all of which ended in dead ends. Most of these other approaches would have handled only a fraction of the possessions and of the job; all of these other approaches would have required far more of our time. So when Wendy said, "no one else does what I do," by then we knew enough to heartily agree. When Wendy met us and saw the house, she estimated a range for the charitable tax deduction the possessions would yield. After she was done, the final figure was actually a bit above the high end of her prediction. Keep in mind that since Wendy is a certified appraiser, the charitable values are not bound by specific IRS limits (just the limit of what she can support). Before Treasures' scheduled arrival, in our case two months later, we were tasked with removing everything the family wanted to keep. Then the Treasures team moved in for a week. When they were done, the house was empty and swept clean. Although I think they prefer to work on their own - perfect if the property is long distance for you - they were also very gracious about my popping in. Indeed, Wendy was very supportive throughout an emotionally difficult process. No problem when I changed my mind and decided to keep something. She was also gentle and good at easing the goodbyes. We received ample documentation for the tax return. We also received -- both on memory sticks and in one hard copy (requested by me) -- extensive documentation, with photographs, of the donated items. We were surprised by the low value of some items but also by the high value on others. Wendy warned us to expect these surprises and to keep in mind that what mattered was the total. What also mattered was how much easier it was to work with Treasures than the many many hours it would have taken us otherwise.

My own insurance undervalued my vehicle, they didn't care what I had to say, they didn't care what proof of value I had. Progressive sent me a list of comps that were not comps at all, it was a list of 2wd vehicle ( my car was 4wd ) they didn't care what I said or how I said it. I was frustrated, mentally exhausted and becoming overwhelmed by it all. On a Saturday evening I sent provalue a message, they responded quickly and asked me to send my files over to them and they would look at it on Monday morning, I did and Henry called me around noon on Monday and told me I was right, I deserved more, and he would get it for me. It sounded too good to be true, it wasn't. When it was all said and done, thanks to provalue I ended up with 4k more in my bank account, THIS IS AFTER PAYING PROVALUE'S FEES 4k more, its a huge improvement, it makes a difference.
