Josh did an amazing job restoring our 100 year old clawfoot tub! The enamel on the bottom had completely been worn down, so not only was it rough and uncomfortable, it was also pretty unsightly and had even discolored into a bit of a yellow. I've also heard that these old tubs can leech lead as well when the finish wears through, which was an instant concern when we had our baby! Josh came to look at it to see if we could finish it in place, it's so heavy and large there was no way we were getting it down the stairs. he explained how he'd basically set up a mobile paint booth around it, complete with ventilation, and refinish it right where it was. He was able to give a verbal quote on the spot, and followed up later with more info. The price seemed totally fair, and certainly less expensive than a new tub. He was able to fit us in quite quickly, and the results are amazing! It honestly looks brand new again, and has become a real showpiece in the renovated bathroom. We only had one slight problem after in which the finish looked slightly more dull then expected. Josh came back by to look, agreed, and in a very short amount of time had it buffed to perfection. Apparently sometimes depending On the rate the finish dries this can happen, but it's obviously not a problem. Would highly recommend Josh and Applied Coatings. We almost gave up on our goal of having the tub refinished, and I am so glad that we found him. I called Applied Coatings after attempting to patch a tiny hole in our bathtub with a repair kit I purchased from Home Depot. Turns out I am not a jack of all trade.
