These folks are completely knowledgeable, reliable, skillful and honest. I've bought a refrigerator and had another fridge repaired by them. I've also purchased a washer and a dryer from them and even their delivery guys really know their stuff. They're consistently courteous, respectful and they are pros in every way. As to pricing (and I know, because I compared such before choosing), and the quality of the products they offer, they've got all that down, as well. I initially went with McCloskey because my 88-year-old, widowed mother - who lives, alone, in Mason City - has used them, and ONLY them, for many years; she highly recommended them, and she's as pleased as ever with their service, prices, products and employees. I am, as well. IMO, one cannot go wrong by choosing McCloskey Appliance.

Rich explained in detail the features, etc. He was excellent to do business with, even upgraded our dryer when the original choice was damaged. Didn't charge for delivery or to pick up old appliances. Delivery men, Dalton and Zach did a very professional job as well!! Service is not a thing of the past. They worked with us all the way.

    My wife and I decided to update the 2 showers in our home. We went to a well known plumbing supply…read morestore and picked our showers and hardware. The supply store recommended Mick Gage. We got and estimate and were told that it was estimated quite high because of the unforeseen work that may come up. It was within our budget and were assured that the price would be much lower. So we moved forward withe the project. I am very handy so i removed the old tub and shower surround, replaced the sheet rock on the wall and had it ready to go. When the installer got there he said the floor for the base needed raised and he could do it easily with minimal cost. So he moved forward with the project. He installed the base and the surround, once he got to the shower door installation he told us it would not be perfect because the floor for the base was not level. He was the one that raised the floor for the base, why didn't he address this at that time? Then there was the 2 glass shelves he installed. They are corner shelves and they are almost a full bubble off level. The owner Mick would not return calls because he is too busy, but not too busy to bill us the full amount of the estimate. Not an itemized bill just a bill. When he finally came to look at the work he said we have too much weight on the shelves and used them too soon. They are screwed to the wall and they are rated for 15lbs. Shampoo conditioner and shave cream. Also the caulking looked like it was done by a 2 year old. Moving on to the second shower. I removed the old one again and the plumbing came to install the base. Well the person that wrote the estimate measured worng. Now we wait two months for the base. Finding out from the supplier that it took onlytwo weeks to get. They finally got my shower installed. I did have to do some additional sheet rock because the corners were not perfect but i repaired them and things went ok. The shelf in my shower is not level but not near as bad as the one in my wifes. I get the bill and the owner billed me $350 to come out and look at his workers mistakes. They also billed us for repairing the poor caulk work. The faucet in my sink was left loose and so were the fixtures in my shower. I know they will never fix the shower shelves because the right way would require replacing part of the shower surround. I will send them a check for the rest of the material but they will not get a labor payment until we are 100% satisfied Would not recommend. By the way they tried to blame the supplier because of inferior product. If it was inferior to them why did they not inform us at the time of estimate. They will put fireplace installation before any other project even if yours was scheduled first. I don't think i would let these people put fire in my home

My total bill was 3.5 times the estimate which he spent about 15 min doing despite my repeated requests for him to open closets, cupboards, etc. They changed the date they were available which meant I had to change the date for my house closing. They were to begin packing me in the AM, but didn't come until 7:30 PM cuz they "squeezed in" another job. This meant it was too late for his crew to drive to my new town much less unload me so my family had to scramble finding some things to get me through the night at new house. Turns out the movers had to leave some stuff in my old house cuz they underestimated # of trucks & employees. This gave soon to be X time to go through & take stuff out & time to add junk (like lettuce etc from frig). When they finally got there the next day, they still needed to drive back for truck with rest of stuff to bring following day! A 3 day mess! Then he asked one of my kids if their dad was a physician!! Cha-ching!! There were things scratched & broken, things that were to be moved that weren't, things they weren't able to move from patio cuz it had snowed (no mention at walk-through), etc etc. Carpets were tracked on & left a mess. I refused to pay bill at 10 PM that night cuz it was SO much higher thus wanted to go carefully through it so he sent my son in to say I had to give him check that night. Eventually sent 2 different employees in with same message. They eventually gave up & left only for him to make them turn around & come back. Joe repeatedly called & left nasty voicemails, the last of which was filled with profanity. I had to sit down the next day & write long letter to incl with check for much less than bill was for (not something I had time for during my 1st day in new house!). Sorry to ramble on, but suffice to say, this is only a portion of my experience. Wouldn't hire them under any circumstance!!!

    I am owner of Avenue Of Homes Charles City. We have closed our Charles City Sales Lot. We have had…read moreonly one choice for internet service and Unggoy internet service was erratic and slow. Thier follow up and service is even worse. It took about a year for them to install a device to try and make it better and it still was terrible internet service. In the past Avenue Of Homes had pre-paid our annual invoice $779 for service. I notified them in November 1 via phone and email that we were ceasing business and no longer needed service. Since then, I am receiving delinquent email notices with no invoice attached. So again, I call and she tells me I owe something like $800 for entire upcoming year of service. I would have paid a month or so but they were extorting me for entire year. I hope they take me to small claims as I have copy of every communication I sent them. I never write Yelp review but Unggoy SUCKS.

    When I first purchased, they told us they have 24/7 tech support. When I did have issues on several…read moreoccasions, I had to leave a voicemail and never received a call back from tech support. Later, they changed the wording to say we have to leave a voicemail for after-hours tech support, and then again - never a call back. The internet is out SO MUCH, often after-hours or early morning. Just last week the internet went out during FOUR client calls. In the last two weeks the internet has been out SEVEN separate days, and is often so slow when it is actually working that it's rendered pretty much useless. The ladies on customer support were nice, but as I call more and more because of service being down, they are rude. Listen, I am paying for a service I am not getting, it's costing me time and LOTS of money. If I am nice to you, you should reciprocate, especially since I'm the one paying YOU to give me a service! They've turned off their reviews on their Facebook page, too because of how dissatisfied people are with them. Guess it's time to go back to Mediacom:( **UPDATE 11/28/17** It's been 48 hours without internet, for everyone. They're deleting concerned comments and questions from their social media pages and ignoring their customers. This does not sound like a stable, reliable, trustworthy company. RUN.
