On my last visit, - emphasis on last -, after my cleaning was done, I asked if I was going to see a dentist. Not sure where the thought came from, but I asked if I would be changed an additional fee, and she said yes!! I have been going to the dentist twice a year since I've had teeth. NO dentist has EVER charged me for checking my teeth when the hygienist was done. NOT acceptable, nor even reasonable - what would it take? Maybe five minutes? We are now going to Smart Dental Care in Prairieville and are more than pleased. I understand that dental care is not cheap, but charging to have the dentist to check my teeth after cleaning is ridiculous.

Then they showed me exactly where my problem areas were. I believe because I saw the pictures--I appreciate the honest opinion I received. Daniel Bankhead has been my dentist for many years now. I want to complement him on a few things…read more First of all, he has chairside manner. He has a very good sense of humor and he knows how to make his patients relax. Secondly, he is always on time. Whether you are in his office for a basic check up and cleaning. or a procedure, he operates on time with minimal waiting time. Thirdly, if you are going to get a crown, he can produce a finished crown in only one visit that may take perhaps up to two hours. But you do not have to come back in for the installation of the crown. He has a computer system and a lab that takes care of all of that on the spot. I am just a patient of his, and I have no relationship to him other than that whatsoever. But I will say that I think Dr. Bankhead is an excellent dentist and I would recommend him to anybody.

I came to him a few years ago with extreme dental challenges, having undergone fillings, implants and crowns at different times by different providers. The colors of my crowns did not match, the work was beginning to fail and I was self conscious about my smile. Dr. Vance undertook a heroic effort to design and implement a full mouth dental plan. This was a massive project that required not only his excellent dentistry, but coordination with an oral surgeon (Dr. Akin), an endodontist (Dr. Corbett) and crown processing lab (Bayou State Crown), all of which Dr. Vance planned, organized and supervised. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Vance was patient, understanding and supportive. He is a wonderful person and his entire office staff, especially Ashley and Jeannie, are exceptional human beings. Now, I'm thrilled to show off my gleaming smile! I am eternally grateful to Dr. Vance and his staff. If you are one of his patients, you are indeed blessed!

To me, it's worth it. The reason why I switch to Dr. John was because I was moving cross-country. I had seen my previous dentist who noted that I had a cavity in a certain tooth (I totally trusted this dentist, had him for a long time). When I came to Baton Rouge, I saw Dr. John but didn't tell him that I thought I had a cavity -- he and his hygienist found the cavity w/o being told and it was in the same tooth (it was a small cavity, could have been easily overlooked). I've had no cavities since then and always get great treatment by Dr. John and his staff.
