TLDR: Average level of care. High turn over of docs and hygienists, very narrow list of accepted…read moredental plans. Gone is the personal touch/feel of Watkins. Now it feels like an impersonal assembly line plus the added sales pitches. Details: Over the decade I have been going to Watkin Dental Associates (WDA), the care has been acceptable, no issues. The last two years, every time I go in, new faces everywhere. Before I would be assigned to a hygienist and doctor and see that hygienist and doctor. No more. Whoever is available that day is who you see. The turnover with hygienists and doctors is concerning. My teeth have been super stable for years (per every doctors that has seen me at WDA) and suddenly Invisalign, expensive floss, electric toothbrushes, and fluoride treatments are all being pushed to "save" my teeth. What? Yet in the same breath I'm told my oral hygiene routine is working well, very minimal build up, fillings are fine, etc. I feel like they look for any potential "issue" to try and upsell you on a procedure you don't need. I noticed that most doctors will have their own opinions on each visit, so unless your teeth are literally falling out, I'm not sure what to believe when they give an assessment. I feel like every time I go in, it's a roll of the dice what the results will be. The other downside is they take only five specific insurance plans now (as of 2026) and eliminated eight plans in 2025. They do offer their own in-house plans and quickly offer that but it's worth it if you only need cleanings. Here's the "Adult Plan", they have others. The info is also on their website. Adult Plan - $258 Annual Fee Included benefits: 2 hygiene visits with doctor examination and radiographs The annual fee pays for itself since bitewings and a routine cleaning is approximately $350 (as of 2026). The catch is you only get a 20% discount on select services with exclusions. It's like a cheap dental plan but through WDA. It runs from the month to sign up to the same month next year; it's not calendar year. There used to be a personal touch/vibe at WDA but now I feel like it's an assembly line at a chain practice plus upsell pitches. Luckily my needs are low and the work I've had done over the years has been great. Will I stay? Yes, for now, but I have a sense that will change in the future. As always, YMMV.

When I called the office, a representative informed me that I would need to pay out of pocket…read morebecause they only accept MassHealth for patients under 20.
