# My $10,000 Experience with Apple and Arrows (Todd Ramsey): Overpromised and Underdelivered I invested approximately **$10,000 with Apple and Arrows to develop my websites**. At that price point, I expected far more than a basic website build. I expected the level of service, deliverables and support that were represented to me when I agreed to work with them. Unfortunately, that is not what I received. The simplest way I can describe my experience with Apple and Arrows is this: **They overpromised and underdelivered.** During the sales process, I was promised more than simply functional websites. One of the specific deliverables discussed was a **video of me creating my art**--an important element for an artist whose website is supposed to communicate not only the finished work, but the person and creative process behind it. I never received that video. I was also promised a **comprehensive user manual** that would teach me how to operate and manage the websites they were building. What I received was the bare minimum. That has become particularly important because of what happened next. More recently, I was informed that Apple and Arrows had been acquired by Thrive restaurant group. Whatever changes occurred internally following that acquisition, the consequence for me as an existing customer has been straightforward: **I effectively no longer have support for the websites I paid them to create.** That also exposes the significance of the inadequate user documentation. Had Apple and Arrows provided the comprehensive manual I was promised, I would at least have detailed documentation explaining how to manage what they built. Had they continued providing meaningful support, inadequate documentation would be somewhat less consequential. Instead, I am left with both problems. For approximately **$10,000**, I expected a professional product accompanied by the deliverables and support represented to me when I purchased their services. I do not believe that expectation was unreasonable. My dissatisfaction isn't based on a single mistake, personality conflict or one frustrating customer-service interaction. It is based on the cumulative experience: promised deliverables that were not delivered, documentation that fell far short of what I was told I would receive, and now effectively no support for the websites they built. And that is ultimately why I am writing this review. If you are considering Apple and Arrows--or frankly, any company to build an important website--do not make your decision based solely on what is presented during the sales process. Get every deliverable in writing. Get the scope of post-launch support in writing. Get a clear definition of what documentation and training you will receive. Make certain you control your domain, hosting, accounts, passwords and digital assets. And ask what happens to your support if the company is sold. Had I known at the beginning what I know today, **I would not have spent $10,000 with Apple and Arrows.** A company should ultimately be judged not by what it promises while trying to win your business, but by what it delivers after it has your money. read more
