There was no phone number listed on the website or in the emails, so we had no way to contact anyone to figure out what was going on. After waiting and searching for a way to reach someone, we finally had to leave with a very disappointed child. Four hours later, we received an email claiming they had previously emailed us (we never received anything) and that there had been an emergency with the trainer. While emergencies happen, the response didn't feel sincere, and the complete lack of communication in the moment was frustrating. This was supposed to be a highlight of our trip, but instead, it was a huge letdown. Given the positive reviews, we expected much better. If you're considering booking here, be warned--there seems to be a serious lack of reliability and customer service. We won't be trying again.

Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

While they are a bit older than the resort's main target audience, it ended up being a great fit, especially since they had never been horseback riding and hadn't skied before. Everyone had a great time. We stayed in the main building in a room with two queen beds and bunk beds. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable with soft mattresses and pillows. Temperature-wise, it was funny, my son and I were warm, while my wife and daughter were cold, so I guess that means the room temperature was just right. One thing to note: the walls are thin. You can definitely hear noise from nearby rooms and above. Since this is a family-focused resort, that's kind of expected. It didn't bother us, but if you're looking for total quiet, this may not be the place. Since it was midweek, there were discounts, and they even offered us on our last night an extra night for and even more discounted rate. We were ready to head home, but I would absolutely consider staying longer next time. The resort is all-inclusive, and the food was solid overall. * Breakfast was your typical buffet--scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, etc. They will cook eggs to order if you ask. * Lunch was buffet-style as well and changed daily. Not amazing, but it got the job done. * Dinner was my favorite meal and felt a bit higher quality, with multiple courses and limited menu options (which I actually liked). * Dessert was fun, especially the ice cream machine. One thing I noticed is that the food is served at a kid-friendly temperature, which took a little getting used to. I'm guessing they do this so kids don't get burned. The activities were the highlight. Skiing was fantastic because it was almost empty, there were only a few other people on the hill. Since I hadn't skied since the early 90s, it was great to have the space to fall a few times without worrying about others. The staff was extremely helpful and encouraging. The hill is more like a bunny slope, but honestly, it's perfect for beginners. If you spent a few days learning here, you'd feel confident going to a bigger mountain. Horseback riding was also great, and since it was midweek, we could have gone multiple times a day. The indoor/outdoor heated pool was really nice, and there's even a waterslide. A lot of the resort seems better suited for summer, and some things were closed for winter, but we came mainly for skiing, so that didn't bother us. The staff deserves a lot of credit. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. There's a saloon downstairs where they run games at night and offer a free drink of the night. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available. One small downside: when the dining areas close at night, soda machines aren't accessible, so you'd need to use vending machines (machines were coin only, so I couldn't use my Apple Pay), which felt a little odd for an all-inclusive resort. But, you can grab drinks to go while the dining room is open. On our last day, they let us do a late checkout since no one was checking into our room. We were able to grab lunch and head out without rushing, which was really appreciated. Definitely a lot more things I can talk about, but these were just the stand out things I remember. Overall: Rocking Horse Ranch is a great choice for families, beginners learning to ski, or anyone looking for a relaxed, all-inclusive getaway--especially midweek when it's quieter. It's not luxury, and it's definitely kid-focused, but it's fun, comfortable, and well-run. I'd absolutely go back.

I had gone horseback riding once over the summer, but I am definitely a newbie and Linda guided us on what to do (ex: lean back when going downhill and lean forward when going uphill). I love that we got to walk AND trot and cross streams. My horse Sarge was a former NYPD horse and he was very good and well behaved (although he was quick and ate some grass before I could stop him while on the trail). After we finished, Linda helped take some photos of us and we got to meet the other horses in the stable. I would absolutely recommend coming here!!!

I've been riding most of my life and they are able to match your horse to your level of riding whether it's just starting or intermediate. The farm: They have just recently moved and this new location has the most gorgeous barn interior I've even seen. Lofty, wood and timber, clean, organized, spacious, and open. The grounds were equally as stunning, especially in mid-october with the fall colors. We were early for our appointment and the groundskeeper generously gave us a tour of the grounds, introducing us to each horse and telling stories. The horses have so much room to run around and are paired with horses they get along with best and often ride together with, so they are all extremely friendly, and most are rescues. Our ride: Bridget was an amazing guide! She's one of those people who makes you feel in good hands from the start. She's extremely knowledgeable and experianced in riding and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. My boyfriend and I are advanced riders and chose Misfit Farm because of the reviews for more intense trail rides and were extremely satisfied. "It's not your average Club Med ride!" as Bridget announced. We trotted, cantered, and galloped among the trails. I rode Gershwin, an extremely sweet and even tempered horse, and had one of my most comfortable rides ever at all gaits. The horses we took on the trail all knew each other very well and were super comfortable riding close together. Bridget was a true horse mom and knew each horse's personality and behavior. The scenery was picturesque and the trail was the perfect length. I can't wait to visit again. I highly recommend Misfit Farm to trail riders and horse lovers, they have so much offer!

But Stoneview is definitely the longest time my horses have been boarded. I hope it's like home for them by now. I love the people at Stoneview Farms. It's no drama, no bossing, no rudeness, and no stress. Stoneview Farms is a place where people come to enjoy their time with their horses. I really appreciate that. The schedule is very open but I always check for availability on special days. So far I can visit my horses anytime: 8 pm or 6 am. On holiday days or weekends. This is important since I live 35 miles away and I have a very busy schedule. The barn is kept extremely clean. The horse stalls are 14x14 large. Perfect for really big horses like mine. It has windows that are open in the summer. It never really gets too hot in this barn. I think it is because of the altitude of its location. There is always a nice breeze. The farm also has a large arena, a round pen, a jumping field and a track. The horses are not crowded in their paddocks which means there is plenty of green landscape for our equines to enjoy. The Taddeo family and their employees work tirelessly in improving the previously neglected farm. Every month there is something new, something improved and it makes everyone happy. Its already a gorgeous farm that suits our pocket sizes. Some boarders are serious horse people. They will ride under any weather, and their horses are worked almost daily in their skills. That is always inspiring to me. Some horses there are retired but they look very happy and cared for by their owners. Some horses belong to Eric Taddeo and these are race horses that are worked out almost daily. I really enjoy seeing all this activity. But nobody is preaching and its a very relaxed atmosphere without die hard rules. I do recommend this farm. It's a pity they don't have an indoor or a warm space to hang out in the winter with my children. But I'm certain that eventually it will happen... I love their new instructor Laura Juhlin and she has brought in so much business by teaching horse ridding to children and adults. She is also very easy going and knowledgeable of her horses. They also had a couple of fall lessons over the last few years. She tried to book lessons for a weekend in October and was very aggressively pursued by a young teenager giving lessons to book. Although the price was now much higher, she decided to book 2 half hour lessons for the girls ($200). She was charged $2,500 for some package. The teenager had referred to a package but it was not clear to my daughter that she was being asked to sign up. How do you charge a person that amount without any indication that this charge is being applied to review? What kind of sales strategy is this to make young teenagers hound clients to lure them into a package deal that is not fully explained and charged to their account without giving them the opportunity to review charges and agree to them? This is a scam!
