Honest review, was skeptical at first seeing the rating around a 2, but we had a gift card and had to give it a shot. First off our waitress Val was the sweetest and most attentive ever, such a comforting presence whenever she stopped by, was super helpful in some appetizer choices too! Food was great! Steak was solid, a bit salty but nothing the mash potatoes didn't take care of. Vibe inside was nice too, had a booth near the bar and at 7 the lights dimmed making it more relaxed. When I entered a young man cleaning a table immediately came over and while gathering a menu and silverware a server walked up and was talking in a real snippy tone to the young man about hurrying up to seat me so he can come take her phone off silent because she had an important call that she had to take. He sat me and I heard the same server walking through saying she was ready to go home, and she was talking about the young man at the door. She said to another worker that you know he's slow. Very poor service. The soft drink refill was more than 15 minutes late. Went to make a complaint to a manager in the kitchen area. What I thought was a staff that intentionally bumped me in the back was actually the head kit hen manager who apparently did like me complaining about the poor customer service A female assistant manager came out and tried to discredit my complaint. A fellow employee corroborated my version of what happened and the assistant manager when given the information in front of the customers and employees finally made an embarrassing apology. We were in a group who came to meet and eat before a nearby event, but came in a few at a time to wait for the larger table area. As such, we got to the bar two at a time, so it wasn't like there were 10 people stacked at once. The bartenders and managers were playing a game where they couldn't see us but could see the Black customers. One woman would come over and wait on us after a while. For reasons known only to groups no one else would leave. We were seated. I don't think this part was a race issue, but they are very slow and very disorganized. The main waitress was trying, but it just seemed to be too much for her and all of them. The food wasn't very good. Growing frustrated, I got up to seek the manager and begun preparing to leave. The lead cook acting as manager because he claimed management was tied up came to assist with our problem. Promising that he could solve our discomfort by sending someone else over to take care u of us who also was not the manager. So I saw that there were new menu items called Sizzlin' Entrees. I ended up ordering Sizzlin' Cheddar and Bacon Chicken Skillet with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Green Beans. Mikera brought me my food and noticed that they gave me double mashed and apologized and stated that green garlic bean would be out shortly. She said they look very similar in the system. If I could give zero stars I would. I really hate being a Karen. I walked in and there was no one hosting. No acknowledgement by any of the waiters/waitresses . We had our baby and just wanted a meal that I can finally eat after being discharged from the hospital. I've never went to this Applebees before and I already have a bad impression. Me and my boyfriend sat in the waiting area for at least 10mins before anyone came and spoke to us and when she did she sat us at a dirty table, saw there was food on the table and never came back to clean it up. Like what you read with other reviews, this location needs to improve their service and food. Dined for two. Asked for a table by the window. 4 of the servers made us wait for awhile. They decided to where we should sit. The fact there's available tables near us, but we were seated all the way to the back. Wasn't happy about it. Ordered the 1 appetizer, 2 entree for $25 Boneless wings, half rack pork ribs with onion rings and coleslaw, and bourbon street chicken and shrimp. It's a good deal. Small portions though. The taste was bearable to keep the stomach full, but I was not palatably satisfied. You may need to season the ribs with salt, while the shrimp had some dressing drizzled on top that tasted bitter for me. Be careful when you change the sides, because it may cost extra. My husband asked if it's ok to have onion rings instead of fries for the ribs. The server said it's ok, and made us believe there was no charge. When we checked out, we got billed extra $1.99 for that. What's unique about Applebee's is the touch screen gadget they placed per table. It's a mini tablet where you can order your meals, request drink refill, and pay by swiping your credit card. Be aware when kids start playing games...it's extra $1.99 to play unlimited in the tablet. By the way, when I opened Yelp and click check in, I received a Free Appetizer offer from Applebee's.
