Enjoyed dinner with hubby at Applebees. I tried the new O-M-Cheese Burger and fries. Couldn't wait for that gooey cheese. The burgers looked nothing like the pic when they came out. In fact we were disappointed at the look of them compared to the pics BUT they were so tasty. Totally made up for it. The star of the show was the Mucho Prickly Ever After Rita. In a professional dining environment, a clean ceiling and ventilation system are basic food safety standards. Finding a wad of hair hanging from an air vent directly above your table is a major sanitary failure, and something we unfortunately experienced yesterday. We had to wait a bit too long for our food to initially come out. Once it did, my daughter pointed out a wad of human hair dangling from a few strands coming out of the air vent right above our table. My husband was disgusted and I had to keep an eye on it to make sure it didn't land in our food as we waited to be able to ask to move tables. Our server seemed more worried about needing to ask the other server if he could seat us in their section than the fact there was a health hazard dangling above our meal. After notifying his manager, he got a ladder and cleaned it, but we weren't offered any sort of compensation for having our appetites ruined. The whole reason we came to try this place is for the free appetizer I was supposed to receive upon signing up for their rewards, but I didn't receive the offer in my account and when I asked, they said there was nothing they could do to honor it. I can be understanding about that, but I feel like after having to point out a major sanitary failure right above our food to someone, something should have been offered. If they're missing something like this, we could only imagine the other things left unnoticed. I'm pretty sure this a health code violation. The customer service was really good. My server came and greeted me when I was sat, without having a long wait. Food came out pretty quick and it tasted good. I had the three cheese chicken penne pasta, with a house salad. Both were great. I had to get a to-go box because my meal was enough to eat off twice. read more

Trying this restaurant really surprised me. When I arrived, it took quite a long time to get the attention of the waitress. However, after she noticed us, she was really nice. The inside looks really good, I went at 2 pm so it wasn't really crowded. I tried unlimited boneless wings, shrimp, and riblets. They first brought me the wings. In total, I got 9 big wings that were surprisingly crispy and juice. The BBQ sauce they used tasted really good, and the fries were very hot and tasty. The shrimp had good flavor and size. Also, the riblet was really good. It had a smoked taste, and it tasted really good with the sweet Asian Chile. I also tried the Classic combo as an appetizer. It has mozzarella sticks, spinach & artichokes dip, chicken quesadilla, and boneless wings. Everything has good flavor, the only problem was the chips which didn't taste too fresh. read more

Having dined in an Applebee's before, I wasn't expecting much but my MIL had some coupons and wanted to take the Wife and I to dinner along with the FIL. So we went and the waitress popped up. And said I really had a day. I thought : oh boy here we go. But boy was I wrong. the waitress then said yes I've had quite a day & started telling us about it but at least it was only 30 seconds and not five minutes. So we actually felt some sympathy for our waitress but she says I'm gonna do my very best to take care of you. And I gotta say she was there when we needed her and yet she did not bother us too much and she also had some funny little jokes/ comments during the meal and we enjoyed her quite a bit. However I cannot remember her name. I had the steak which was on point and cooked perfectly at medium rare the way I like it. Potato was good along with sides and I really enjoyed my meal. Others in my group definitely enjoyed the meal too. So for me ,it was kind of a surprise but the food was out promptly and we were there at 5:30 PM which is prime dining time and yet food was out promptly, and the service was excellent, so everybody else in the group was quite happy with our expert and I would definitely go back to the Applebee's in Riverview again. read more

Applebee's is the only place by me where you can have a late and enjoyable dinner. Last night, after a long road drive, my daughter and I stopped there, and as expected, we were not disappointed although the service was a little slow. The appetizers were half price at 10 pm, which was a bonus. The chicken wonton tacos were really delicious. The mango margaritas were perfect, and the Happy Hour price was another bonus. I truly enjoyed my southwest bowl. I don't go to Applebee's often, but whenever I go, I am satisfied with the service. read more

The OMBurger was burnt onto the skillet to the point my wife and I had to scrape it off of the skillet. Other locations make it like it looks in the commercials. They need to improve this limited time good burger everywhere but Big bend in Riverview. read more

I tried the Classic Combo appetizer and the unlimited boneless wings, crispy shrimp, and riblets special. The customer service was great. The place is very casual. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. I got the boneless wings, crispy shrimp, and riblets with the sweet asian sauce, which was like a sweet chili sauce, but more spicy and not as sweet. The bathrooms and the tables and rest of the restaurant was also very clean. read more

Applebees seems to have dropped a notch from years ago. The staff needs some people communication skills. My wife order hot tea and they didn't have any, so she ordered decaf coffee and didn't have that either, so she ordered regular coffee and they had that but it was just about room temperature. The NewOrleans special Chicken and Sausage was very tasty, could have been a little more spicy with Cajun taste. We'll go back again, we'll just accept a little less service.. read more

After reading all the reviews, there are two things to remember 1. This is a "chain" restaurant not a 5 star restaurant. 2. Most of the below average reviews came after dinner. These type of restaurants have no control over the menu corporate decides that. The only thing they can control is the atmosphere and service. We had Tara as a server. She was kind, friendly and was on point. We just had burgers, they were good fresh and hot. I would suggest that anyone go there. Just keep perspective of what kind of restaurant it is, I watched people receive their plates, watch their reaction and everyone liked it. The servers were doing very good tonight. Inconsistently can also come from management as well. I have nothing but solid service here. read more

My girlfriend and I have come here twice since moving to the area, both on a Thursday, and Karaoke has NOT disappointed! Great, energetic vibe the entire time. We had burgers the last time and were both pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were. Fries were also very tasty. And there a vinegar and lemon-based dressing they brought out with our house salads that was excellent. No complaints. This place knows what it is and plays that role perfectly. We came here for late dinner on our drive. After having to excuse ourselves to just to walk in the door, we just walked to the bar. Our initial bartender and who pretty much kept up with us with awesome. She was attentive whereas her co-worker had a hard time juggling and was oblivious. As my husband said - she was more redneck than he expected for this area. Our food came out quickly and was very good. My husband was disappointed with the change in the bourbon sauce adding the fireball. My biggest complaint is the napkin mess on the floor at the bar and the restroom mess. This place is a joke no offense. The staff has no communication skills what's so ever. I came to pick up and order I was left standing at the to go corner for 20 minutes straight when all the servers including the bartender just stared at me without saying a single word. Also I applied here and I got a call to come in for a interview and the day I went in for my interview the manager told the hostess to tell me that "they weren't hiring and that's basically all she said". I understand it's 2024, however, the fact that you allow servers/FOH staff to walk around with AirPods in and sit in an entire group by the host station scrolling on their phones is absolutely ridiculous. We requested plates with our app and never received them and then when we ordered our entrees we each asked for ranch, never got any. Had to go to the host stand to request some after watching our server deliver a drink here and a side salad there. Then....watched as our server proceeded to bad mouth us at the host stand. Went there today for an early dinner at about 4:15. I always sit at the tables in the bar area so was instructed to sit anywhere I wanted. After about 10 minutes another couple sat at the table next to mine. About 10 minutes later, a gentleman approached that couple's table and apologized for the wait, took, their orders, and did not even acknowledge me as he went by. I waited another 5 minutes, and left. That was about 25 minutes of being ignored and was quite long enough. I won't be back. read more

I ordered off the menu 2 for $25 and it was supposed to come with 2 cheese burgers all the way and 2 Cesar salads. The guy taking order to told me I could replace a salad with a cheese artichoke and chips. When I returned to work to eat I had 2 burgers and an artichoke and chips. I called back and the person I talked to said who ever took my order should of informed me that the dip replaced the salads. I was hot because I wanted my Cesar salad. This restaurant has decent food for a fair price. We ordered off the 2 for 20 and 2 for 25 menu since it's the best deal and comes with an appetizer. My shrimp salad was really good. Dressing on the side with some lemon wedges is the way to go, they " over dress" their salads and there is no going back. The steak, however, was dark pink in the middle , not a medium, and had to be sent back. I think they should just take the plate and cook the steak another 90 seconds and bring back fresh mash and corn with it. I'm ok with the occasional " cook it little more " better under cooked than over cooked .I am not ok with one of us having to eat corn and mash around a crime scene on the plate and getting back a close to well done steak on a side plate. I think these chain restaurants need to train all of their cooks on meat temps. Some drinks are BOGO and some draft beer is cheaper, but if you need a bottle of beer you'll pay almost 4.50. Now I am all for profit and we all need to earn a living, this is a little much for a beer at a Applebees. Draft gives some people headaches, so let's be fair and have a decent bottle price to. You pay anywhere from 15 to 22.00 dollars a case for beer, factor the high end and that's 87 cents a beer. 500% mark up. Nice. Maybe at Flemings or a hotel bar you would expect that that premium price , no wait that same beer was only 4.00 at the Marriott bar. read more

There was literally pieces of a cockroach in not only mine but my boyfriend and his brothers Tea. I never ask to speak to a manager because I'm a server (ifykyk) but I had to, when what I thought was a manager came over to the table, I had the cup and was about to say something and she quite literally snatched the cup from my hand and said and I quote "oh hell no" and walked away without saying anything to me. I wasn't trying to be any type of way I'm actually horrible at confrontation. We waited at the table for 15-20 minutes before someone came over again to take my payment and I asked to talk to someone else and then another 10 minutes later someone came by and tried to down play the situation and genuinely gas light me saying it wasn't such a big deal. A mistake in an order OR EVEN A HAIR I can deal with but a freaking roach is absolutely disgusting. If you want the idea of bugs around your food and drinks by all means eat here. read more

First and last time at this location. I got the appetizer trio; the chips were cold and stale and the trio itself lacked flavor. I got the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo, it didn't have any flavor and I only had 4 pieces of broccoli that I had to dig around and search for in the dish and needless to say...the chicken was well done. The server got the drink order wrong, I got the Long Island during happy hour (2 for 1) and my dinner date got a frozen drink. When the drinks arrived the server place both long islands on the table and gave the frozen drink to another table. Ate there last night (7/12/23). Was seated at the hightops and don't really know why as there were plenty of booths. Lady bartender waited on us with no personality and when we received our food, our burgers were not pink like we asked and they were overcooked, the bun was over toasted and fries soggy. We should have known when she brought out our food and warned us that the plates were very hot. We had burgers and two appetizers and sweet tea and pepsi and the bill was $61 and some change.
