Nice Applebee's location. Not crowded at all during our dinner visit. Good service and great food. Their $10 burger or chicken sandwich, fries and drink special made them no more expensive than most fast food combos these days, but with way better food quality. Employees were pleasant. They had sports on the TVs scattered around the restaurant and bar area, and were playing country music over the speaker system. Being relatively new to Morristown, Tennessee, I am trying my best to eat at most of the restaurants that attract me. I passed Applebee's a number of times and passed it up primarily because it didn't look very inviting. To my pleasant surprise, I eventually went in and enjoyed the friendliness from the bar clientele to the restaurant staff. A nice watering hole and a really good burger. My husband and I came in yesterday around 1:00 pm and were immediately seated and greeted by a smiling hostess ! Our waitress was Sam ! We ordered an appetizer which was wonton tacos which were absolutely delicious ! My husband and I wanted a beer which we are both in our sixties and when she asked for our I.D . I didn't have mine and she refused to serve me which was fine I understood ! My bad for not having my drivers license ! We visited the Morristown, TN, location on 3-11-23. When we walked in, there were no host seating people. We stood behind another party for approximately 5 minutes, and no one ever acknowledged us standing there. I finally asked the party in front of me how long they had Ben standing there when we walked in. They said "7 minutes". I said wow that's ridiculous because we observed four servers and a manager standing in the back corner next to the bar and kitchen casually chatting. They're welter two servers that walked past us talking about going out to their car and completely disregarded the fact we were standing there. There was a girl that was cleaning tables who looked at all of us several times and also ignored us. My sister finally went to a server to the left and told him we were all waiting to speak to a host. He replied that they were short-staffed, with only two servers. We counted five servers visually running around, but they were not serving anyone, so I'm not sure what they were doing. When someone finally came over, they explained they were short-staffed and that it would be about 15 mins for the party in front of us. She asked if they could at least be seated because they had been standing so long that they would be patient with the wait. There were visibly many unoccupied clean tables for which they could have gone ahead and seated people. Then someone came out who I assume was a manager and asked the lady in the party in front of us who was yelling at his staff. No one yelled or came close to raising their voices. I'm an HR professional. And I can tell you that attitudes like that would receive a written warning and or possible termination. I understand being short-staffed, but that's no reason to ignore people waiting to be seated in their establishment completely. They should have had the common courtesy to let us know they were short-staffed and would get us seated as soon as possible. The staff was very unprofessional very disrespectful by accusing any of us of yelling. That is entirely untrue. Because of this interaction, their establishment lost eight paying customers! read more

Visited Applebees in Morristown Sat 11/20 around 6 pm. Horrible..to say the least. Was told 30 min wait so we gave our name (to a nice hostess) then 2 seats became available at bar so we sat there...The bartender ABSOLUTELY ignored us. Not only ignore but passed right in front of us several times and NEVER even acknowledged or said I'll be be with you. Waited 20 mins, yes I timed it, still no acknowledgement....So we left and told hostess on way out how horrible it was. That bartender DOES NOT belong working with the public. She obviously hates her job. The bar was not THAT busy for her to not even say something to us. I've been at several Applebees but will not ever go back to this one. Less than one star. Now I know why such bad reviews. Owner/management should take a close look. You are losing lots of business if you read reviews. read more

Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. My waitress was non existent after taking our order, not once did she come to see if we needed anything else napkins, refills or even the check. We sat there for about 20ish minutes after we finished waiting to pay. The food was absolutely horrible it tasted like it was fresh out of the microwave. I have never had that bad of food served to me in a restaurant. I couldn't even send it back to get it cooked fresh or "reheated" because the waitress never came back to see how we where doing. I have been to this restaurant several times and every time I go it's always enjoyable. The staff there are really nice the food is fantastic. Typically when I go I will order a steak or a burger my wife will typically get a salad or pasta and we always find the food to be very good. Applebee's is good if you want some reasonably priced food. I've never really been super excited about Applebee's food however, their appetizers are really good. I last went to Applebee's in Morristown when they had the two-for-$20. The meals offered was a good variety and included an appetizer and small cup-sized dessert. For that price, it was pretty fair and good. The food usually tastes like it's pre-cooked / warmed up in a microwave. I dont' mind some things, but when I want a steak, Applebee's is not it. Their Shrimp was a bit rubbery saying they aren't really good. I think if you are going with friends sharing some appetizers and drinks, its' a great place to go, but for dinner, it's average. read more

We are sitting here right now waiting for our entrees. We had ordered the 2 for $20. Our boneless wings appetizer was room temperature when we got it. Two minute later our entrees arrived. I told our server we weren't ready so she took them back to the kitchen. A little later we were ready. She brought the entrees back very quickly. As I suspected, the tenders were very dry and the fries were full of air pockets which showed that they were old. She had brought back our original plates. We complained and now we have new plates of "fresh" food. I know we will never be back. The last time we were here was Veterans Day 2011. Vets get free meals on that day. Needs a negative rating. We waited over 1 1/2 hours on our food and once we had the food we had to send back three plates for being cold and over cooked. You would think the manager would try to help the issue but he was very hateful and rude. We will NEVER be back to Applebee's. Me and my boyfriend drove from Middlesboro, KY last night to eat and we are so glad we did! We were so gracious for the two top tables that allowed us to have just the correct amount of space for the two of us, we both work in a restaurant and hate taking up a four top for two people. The hostest was so polite and prompt we didn't stand at the door more than a minute before we were sat. Our server Matt gave us about the best service we've ever received! He was so friendly and gave perfect recommendations, he spoke to us like we were actually friends instead of a few dollars to make, our drinks and apps got to us very prompt for the amount of business they had at the time, he kept us up to date on the progress of our food because the kitchen was swamped which was obvious because the place was packed. Our food was absolutely amazing! Both steaks were cooked perfectly our apps were great we had the new wonton tacos they were to die for! And he made sure the ice cream didn't touch our dessert because of lactose intolerance. We will definitely make this location our date night spot from now on.
