Sat next to a table that had not been cleaned- food all over the floor. Drink order delivered several minutes after it was poured at the bar. Waitress never smiled! Food was lukewarm and the waitress could only find us one set of silverware. She did find a set of the plastic takeout silverware to give us. Visited this location this past Thursday. My friend and I sat at the bar which wasn't the least bit crowded however it took forever to get acknowledged. We decided to give the September $1 drink a shot as they normally taste like koolaid. This month's drink, The Adios, which is a blue long island is actually pretty good. Congrats to this Applebees crew. Service here slipped for years but I can safely say, after 4 positive experiences in a row, that this Applebees has made a comeback. The staff has been consistently attentive to each guest and helpful to each other. Staff members seem to only be in the kitchen to gather their food orders and there is a smile shared by the whole crew. If you don't have time to read my full review. The summary message is don't waste your time or money eating at this establishment. The restaurant is dirty and has a health score card of 87. My party of three decided to stop at this Applebee's around 10pm on a Sunday because they were open late night and we were headed back from Tybee Island. We were promptly greeted by the hostess. She had a hard time finding us a clean table to sit at. All the tables on one side of the restaurant were completely dirty. We finally were seated at a table and handed menus. Within 3 minutes a waitress came out and was ready for us to order. She rolled her eyes and said she would give us more time. As I was reviewing he menu the couple across from us were ordering drinks. They ordered a coke and a blue margarita. The waitress submitted their order and came over to our table. She recorded my two friends order and mine. We ordered steak and shrimp fajitas, a classic bacon cheese burger and the shrimp Alfredo pasta. By the time we finished ordering. The couple in front of us drink orders were ready. The waitress bought the drinks to the table and the lady told her the drink was suppose to be a blue margarita. The drink was clearly a red one. The waitress told the lady I submitted the order correctly I have to go to the bar. 15 min later the waitress comes back and tells the lady she can drink the drink and they will make another one. 30 min later we are still waiting on food then couple in front of us received their food but still no drink. The manager finally comes to the couples table and asks the lady why the drink is still on the table and have they been drinking the drink because she is going to charge them for it. The couple was very upset and repeated exactly what the waitress told them, about they could drink the drink. The manager snatched the drink off the table and said that the only way they were getting a new drink. I was appalled at this behavior from the manager. The couple ate their food and drank the remade drink and left. One hour later our food arrived and the order was wrong and gross. The fajitas were chicken and steak instead of steak and shrimp. My burger was bleeding and I asked for well done. My other friends order of Alfredo shrimp had very little sauce. The waitress told my friend she would bring shrimp to him shortly. The 6 tiny burned shrimp finally came out and he was pretty much finished with his food. We asked for the check and noticed that he was charged additionally for the shrimp instead of a trio meal. I asked to speak to the manager. She finally came out and decide to charge for a trip meal instead of the shrimp and steak my friend ordered which was fine because he did consume all three meats. I feel she should have only charged for the food that he ordered not what they decided to give him. In closing skip the wait, headache and overcharging. Eat someone else!! read more

Very disappointed with the service and timeliness. The waitress was pleasant and told us she was new so we tried to be patient. My hubby wanted to try the bbq sauce before ordering the ribs but she kept forgetting to bring it. After s while we noticed that people who came in after us were getting their food so we decided we couldn't wait any longer and paid for the coffee and left. I also noticed that they were sweeping the carpet on the floor where the customers were eating. The broom caused the dust to get in the air. My wife, 2yr old daughter and in-laws went here today. The servers were helpful with our needs, moving a table so our stroller would fit up to the table and when the new server didn't know if the raspberry lemonade had artificial sweeteners she found someone that did know. The cleanliness was above average, and the food did taste good. I did have to ask a few times for dressing and it took longer then normal to bring the food out. About 30 min. I think I might knock that up to a new server that just doesn't have the flow down yet. I would try again if I'm in the area. read more

This review is of the Riverside Dr location in Macon. If you are on your lunch break and use the carside service be aware that your food may not be ready on time. My coworker goes to the one on Eisenhower and said she hasnt had a problem about waiting. My pick up time was for 12:50 but wasnt ready until just after 1pm. The lunch combo is actually a half sandwich although they do not mention that when ordering online, nor was it on the carside pamplet they gave me in my bag. Very disapointed as it wasnt even half of a cibatta bun, more like a quarter or a tiny bun put into a hudge take out container so you dont notice until you have already left. When we were sat down we weren't given menu's and it took forever to be acknowledged. The waitress came to our table and took our drink order then asked what we wanted to eat. Um, we need a menu? So we were given one menu to share. When we got our sweet tea, it was disgusting to say the least. I love my tea extremely sweet, but this was so sweet that it was like syrup. We never got napkins the entire time we were there and with children that's something that's always needed. My husband stopped our waitress while she was walking by to tell her we wanted an appetizer...we waited thirty minutes for the appetizer, but in the meantime she never came back for our main order. Our kids were getting extremely tired and hungry so I was about to go into mama bear mode because it was 10:30 when we got the appetizer with no meal ordered. We ended up walking out..I wanted to walk out sooner, but my husband didn't have cash to leave for the drinks and appetizer. When you only have two tables in your section there is really no excuse. Waited about a minute for a hostess. I asked for seating for one--not in the bar--she had to clear yet another table. Okay... Two minutes later, I'm seated at the table. If I could give this store a negative star I would... Our arrival time was 7:20PM. Upon arriving at the store we were greeted warmly by the hostess and told there was a twenty minute wait time, however, we noticed that only half of the restaurant was filled, as in there were several open tables. We decided it would be ok to wait, so roughly five minutes later we were seated at table 21 in the dining area. Although we were not in a terrible hurry we both noticed that several couples around us were being seated and given drinks and appetizers after we had been sitting there for almost 10-15 minutes. After we had been seated for 25 full minutes our waitress finally greeted us at the table for the first time and told us her name was Charlisa S. and she would be taking care of us tonight. Upon placing our order for drinks, appetizer, and entrees, we were famished. I myself ordered a Michelob Ultra and my boyfriend ordered water, the waitress was wearing a button that said WE ID. I am twenty three years old...I am barely legal to drink alcohol legally, she did not ask me for my ID, this bothered me greatly. I do not look old, I get carded every time we go out to eat; but I really wanted to point out that this waitress was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. As we continued to wait for our food and drinks, couples around us in our section with the same waitress was being served with drinks and food. We entered the store at 7:20PM it was 8:20PM when I was given my beer, I wanted to spend a tab for this evening of about $40 or more on alcohol, it was a great day and I wanted to celebrate. My boyfriend was served 5 minutes later with his first drink, a water, and was given no straw. Throughout the entire night it was very clear and evident that we were being treated differently due to either the way were dressed or the color of our skin. I truly hate to say this, but I felt as if I was not being served because of my race. I have never felt so miserable in a restaurant before in my entire life. When our food finally arrived at our table we had ordered some nachos my boyfriend wanted to try it was served with the meal and they were cold, we did not eat them. They confused our orders and gave my boyfriend my sweet potato fries and they gave me his regular ones. I was served last I had to wait for my food, they did not serve us together. I have never been to a restaurant where a couple has to wait for their food to be brought out at separate times. I asked the lovely lady who gave us our food what to do about the sides, and she said, "Just use your hands to pick up the fries and switch them to the other plate..." In no way shape or form is this the correct response to give to anyone eating at an established restaurant. This is unsanitary, although I love my boyfriend Michael very much I was quite literally shocked with this answer. Not only did they mix up the orders, serve the appetizer with the entree, but my burger was prepared wrong. I informed our waitress Charlisa and she simply stated it was what I ordered and she couldn't change it. At this point I was incredibly upset and sad because I was so hungry and dehydrated, I had finished my first and only beverage 25 minutes ago at that point. We were not asked once if we wanted refills, I was not afforded the opportunity to spend more money on my meal because I wasn't asked. After not even touching the appetizer we were not asked why we did not eat it. We had contact with our waitress three times, and she ignored us and attended to the other tables that were the same skin tone as her, which is what lead me to believe that this was a racially charged situation. I would never, ever make a claim like this unless I truly felt that we were being treated unfairly. After we quite literally inhaled the meal because we were so hungry we asked for the check and we left a tip, and made no scene. However, I did ask for the manager and they simply stated that she was unavailable for people like you... I'm unsure what this meant. We made no issue in the restaurant, was not rude to anyone, and paid in full with a tip, and left in tears. read more

Worst service I have ever had. EVER. I am a very pleasant and patient person. After traveling 8 hours on the road, we stopped for dinner here since it was near our hotel. My family was extremely friendly to the waitress, who I thought was joking around or being sarcastic at first because the woman NEVER cracked a smile. We let her know we were ready to order at her first visit to the table, but she took our drink order and ran off instead. We then waited a good 10 minutes for the drinks (3/4 were water) and to be able to order. We did two of the 2/$20 - I let her know we definitely did NOT want the platters, which are $2 more for each order. Guess what we got charged for? The platters. For something we didn't order or eat. She never once came to check on us the rest of the time we were there. Thank God we could use the electronic checkout at the table. Who knows how long we would have been there before she would have brought our ticket. Based on her attitude, I have no doubt she charged us extra on purpose. She had such a nasty attitude and made us very uncomfortable. I only take the time to write reviews for phenomenal experiences or horrible and this was definitely the worst.
