I want to give more star because the service here is absolutely fabulous but the food was uneven. One of the only vegetarian choices with protein was an Impossible burger, which I ordered w/ fries, extra crispy.My sweet Mom was less successful with her steak sandwich. She didn't enjoy the au just at all & to me,the meat looked pretty dry. Again the fries (ordered extra crispy) were very good,as was the slaw. Maybe we've been listening to Fancy Like a bit too much lately, but while out running errands yesterday we were looking for a lunch spot and happened to be driving by Applebee's and figured we'd get a little bougie. The food was...well, it tasted like it did the last time I was there years and years ago. It wasn't bad. Just not anything to get really excited about. The white queso was just ok. It had sort of a weird flavor I couldn't place and the chips were super salty. My bacon ranch chicken sandwich was ok. The chicken lacked flavor and I couldn't really taste the ranch. But dipping it in a side of ranch helped. My husband's burger was supposed to be medium, but came out well done. Despite that, it actually had really good flavor and the toppings were pretty yummy. The fries were pretty tasty, as well. The standout was Ritchie, our server who was also the bartender. He had a great attitude, was prompt and friendly, and just seemed like a happy guy singing along with the music playing and having a good time. They don't have Coke products, so when I looked disappointed, he asked what I wanted and I told him a Diet Coke. He said he'd take care of it. Next thing I knew, a Diet Coke from McAlister's Deli showed up on my table. It hit the spot and was an unexpected treat. And $40 for two drinks, an appetizer, and two meals isn't too bad these days. I usually love Applebees but last night 3/22/24 I ordered a DoorDash order for pasta and shrimp, brownie bites, and a strawberry colada smoothie. The dasher called me to let me know that Applebees didn't have a blender to make the smoothie. That's all fine, no problem, can we get it substituted for a Triple Cherry Shirley Temple instead? He says the lady that told him there was no blender had gone to the back but he'll check. The lady comes out so he proceeds to ask her and I hear the attitude in her voice when she says "we DONT HAVE A BLENDER, so she has to call DoorDash to get a refund" last time I checked, a Shirley Temple is soda, grenadine, ice, and cherries. That would've been an easy fix. If you don't know how to make a drink as easy as that just say that instead of being incredibly rude. Just absolutely mindblown I gave the Dasher an extra $5 tip due to that woman's behavior. read more

I stopped in at Applebee's around 4 for a bite before heading to work I walked in and the were 2 tables with customers and 2 ladies at the bar. There were no employees out front. I waited patiently for 5 minutes or so, then got myself a menu and sat down in hopes that someone would come out of the kitchen. Had read some negative reviews, but we love Applebees Balsamic strawberry salads so we gave it a try. We were immediately pleasantly greeted as we walked in and our server was very prompt and took excellent care of us. (And, his singing to Free Bird that came over the speakers was most entertaining.) While we appreciate the efforts made here for covid, we won't be back. While our waiter was attentive, he brought our check when we were less than 1/4 into our meal. I was told that Applebees had an all you can eat ribs for $12.99. So living 40 miles away I decided call ahead to be sure A female answered the phone I asked do you still have the $12.99 all you can eat ribs on special. She said yes. I asked what do they come with. She responded with all you can eat fries and a side of coleslaw. I said great and thank you. So we drive 40 miles with our hearts looking forward to ribs. Upon our arrival we were seated quickly. When the waiter came to the table we said we already knew what wanted. I then said we would like the all you can eat ribs He said that it was not a special. He turned it over to the manager who informed me they never have all you can eat ribs, and that maybe I had called the wrong restaurant I went to my car retrieved my phone opened up my call history in front of her asked if this was their number. She said she thought it was. So I dialed the number and the phone rang in the restaurant. I asked to speak with the manager. She said she was the manager. The said that someone had to of given me wrong information At no time did she offer any other option nor seem to care if we ate there or not. I simply said I will be sure yo write a review on YELP at which she didnt seem to care. What surprised me she made zero effort to retain our business. One final note she is the only female that I saw in the restaurant the rest were male staff. They currently have an all you can eat boneless wings for $12.99 So it seems quite obvious someone needs to improve their listening skills on the phone. I have always had good service and food at this Applebees in Jefferson City mo. but that was 3years ago. I have been to this restaurant 2 times in the last 12 months. The last and final time was today. several months ago I had a hard time getting waited on. I was seated quickly but I could not get someone to take my order. There was 4 servers standing at the bar laughing and talking together but not paying any attention to the customers. Finally got waited on but waited over 30 minutes for mediocre cold food. Fast forward to today. Walked in and waited for 7 or 8 minutes for someone to notice me and seat me. Sat at the table for 15 minutes with wait staff passing by me. One waitress was cleaning a table next to mine and never made eye contact with me. A family of 5 entered the restaurant and was seated immediately. After several more minutes I noticed a waitress taking their order. I left the restaurant at that time. I love Applebees food and have been to several locations in several states. This one is a disgrace. The owners need to clean house and hire all new staff starting with the manager. read more

First small impression: boiled eggs. 2nd impression: the hostess wanted to seat us near another party instead of spreading us out like we asked, so she threw our silverware onto the table and huffed away, never a smile on her face. I tried to see her name tag, but it was pinned to the right nipple and I didn't want to be staring at her boobs to get a name. I ordered a Blue Moon and after looking at my valid ID, our server laughed and said I wasn't old enough to drink. He was completely serious. I spent two minutes explaining to him that I was, indeed, over twenty-one based off my birthday which was on my driver's license. He apologized because he thought my license said something different. Just barely acceptable as a chain fast food joint. Years ago it was actually pretty good but over time it has went downhill. You can tell from the amount of cars in the parking lot at any given time. Used to be slammed, now at it's busiest it's just kind of steady. Almost everything is cookie cutter base level American chain resteraunt chotschky type of food. I ate my first *real* steak here. Before this place, it was well done. The Bourben Street Steak rare was my drug. Rarely was it not how I wanted it. I like medium rare, but they serve it on a hot skillet so it cooks a bit. The spices on this steak are perfect. The side dishes are great and I can never get sick of them This is my favorite Applebees. I set this for the standard for the rest of the Applebees I've been in. They recently got rid of the Orange Crispy Chicken Bowl. This was a disappointment to me and my family. The workers are very nice and friendly. I'd say the food is about average for any Applebee's location. The drinks are mixed well if you choose to get any. The remodel is nice that they did last year. I recommend a burger or steak personally. Keeping it simple. I tried the Cajun shrimp pasta once but there was almost no "Cajun" unless you got shrimp, go to Chilis for that one. Haven't had much of a problem getting refills on drinks but the service isn't that great. We've been a few times in the past three years and mainly just go back because we get gift cards or are meeting family. It's not terrible but not very special either. The pricing is general to these types of places and not too bad if you get the "2 for $20" and I think you can upgrade to "2 for $25" too so that's not a bad idea. read more

I regularly come to this Applebee's on evenings when I am not working. Appetizers are half price after 9 PM. 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. It is a good deal and is badly needed to offset the high price of the perfect margaritas. But, then again, you have to pay for perfection. Service is always above average, except possibly when things are too busy or too slow. I'll keep coming back trying to recapture some of those times when they wowed me. read more

One of the worst Applebee's experiences I have had. The food was not good, but by far the worst part was the slow, lazy server.

I went to eat there today with my husband and little boy and our whole experience was terrible. They forgot to bring our appetizer, and then they brought our entrees and we had to ask where our appetizer was. Also my entree was cold and felt like it just came out of the fridge, when I sent it back to have it reheated the manager never came out and appoligized for the food being cold. The sever never came to refill drinks or ask how the meal was, the hostess had to help me the one time she came. I will not go back because the last couple times I went with my mother we had the same experience. I do not recommend this location to visit, to eat. read more

Arrived around 1:30ish today, Sunday, and the host was very helpful and polite. Our waitress, name tagged smeared, had crude manners with clothing covered in food and what appeared to be cat hair. The katchup and mustard were placed on our table just before our food and the mustard had some dirt (black grease? and dust) all over the bottom of it and mustard smeared all over the lid. The waitress did replace the mustard bottle with a cleaner version but still not clean. Our food arrived and the fries where cold and tasteless but the burgers were VERY good. However, my burger should have had grilled onions on it and didn't. We usually go to Applebee's as a favorite but will not be returning to this one, in Jefferson City Missouri. We came here for a dinner break during a school trip. We were in the restaurant for one hour waiting for our food and then another hour trying to pay for what was a sorry excuse for a meal. The steak I ate was somehow both raw and burnt. The waitress was impolite and never tended to us save for once in the entire meal, thirty minutes after we had our food. My family went to Applebee's to get a quick meal and drinks. Having a severe food allergy, I ordered some chips and queso but wanted a side of guacamole. It was not listed on their allergen menu, so I didn't know if it was safe to eat or not. The waiter, Josh, asked (what I presume to be a manager) about it and she came over and sat and took time to go through the menu to double check, when she couldn't find it either, she went to another (what I presume to be) manager and they discussed it. The first (presumed) manger traced the guacamole all the way back to the ingredient list to be sure I could eat it. When it came right down to it, there was really only the seasoning in question and she went back to the kitchen found the seasoning and double checked all the ingredients for me. The second (presumed) manager assured me that it was safe and the two of them plus another employee continued a conversation near me about the guacamole and why it wasn't on the allergen menu if they serve it. WOW! What excellent customer service! They ALL very easily could have just said, 'yeah it's safe' or 'I don't know' and walked away, but they didn't. They cared and it showed. I will definitely be back. Oh and just in case you were wondering, the guacamole was totally worth the trouble, because it was delicious and I ate every last bite of it! read more
