It's ridiculous to have food served this way when the individual bringing the food should be checked the food before bringing it to the table. Buyer Beware!!!! I visited this establishment on 8/19/24 for lunch (3 PM) and paid with my credit card. I left a cash tip as I NEVER put a tip on my credit card. I received an alert on my credit card at 0156 AM 8/19/24 for a transaction of $10.00 at Applebees. I crossed through the tip section and added the total at the bottom of the ticket, so I know there was no price marked on the ticket. Had to kill a hour while waiting for parent to get out of a appointment at Docs across the way- thought this would be a good quick k spot for a snack n beer. The service was very very slow but perhaps they do not have enough help. We sat at a high top in the bar area and orders the combo appetizer- we did not even finish half. It just was not flavorful. Simple frozen food. The beer was fine. The bar was filled with what seems to be locals that got out of work and had no place else to grab a beer. My waitress was great (Jenna) but my steak was supposed to be medium rare and came out more medium well, so I sent it back, waited about 40 minutes for it to come back WELL DONE. When the manager (Rob Roberts) came to check on my food, I told him my 2nd steak was more done than my first and he apologized and walked away. I ended up just eating my boyfriends steak. He also sent his first steak back. It was supposed to be medium but came back medium rare. I would've just eaten his initially but he ordered a 8oz and I ordered a 6oz and the manager took both steaks back. I have been coming to this place for the past 15 years! Back in the day this was one of the few restaurants in Crestview, but now it is definitely one of many! I have tons of memories there, from eating after high school football games and family dinners. They use to have great deals and specials for 1/2 apps and certain main dishes, definitely miss those and wish those would come back. My favorite meal there would definitely have to be the chicken fajita roll ups! They come with thick, seasoned and crispy fries (best fries) and the most amazing southwest chipotle dipping sauce. I don't know how this Applebee's stays open. I foolishly ignored the low ratings and went anyway. The problem is bad food and even worse management. I was served my very first inedible Caesar salad. I didn't think that was possible! Super thick, sour dressing that was so heavy you couldn't taste the lettuce. After sending it back was served a raw burger. It wasn't even rare! Cold, raw meat. The manager ran and hid. No apology, nothing! The only positive thing I can say is that our server was great. She was so embarrassed at the kitchen and management. I felt bad for her. Stay away. Just had a visit here with my friend on Memorial Day. The hostess came and opened the door for us when we walked in which was super polite. Chain food is fairly reliable when it comes to flavor, so I felt comfortable coming her after establishing a good relationship with another location a few years ago. I quickly fell out of my comfort zone. The food is extremely inconsistent. One day we'll eat there and everything will be great, and then we'll come several more times and it will be dry, or unflavored, or undercooked, or just plain bad. We keep returning because we keep getting gift certificates from family for holidays and birthdays. We aren't likely to ever spend cash eating here, though.
