    Bacon cheddar chicken sandwich
    Liz A.

So we stopped here on our way back to CBus after spending some time in Cleveland, TN for a softball tournament. It was just dark so probably 6 PM. The restaurant was following COVID guidelines and we waited outside for a table to be ready. WHen called in about 10-15 min, we were taken directly to our table. At first, the waitress seemed nice enough. She kept my diet soda filled as well as hubby's water. We were entertained by NFL games on the TV - it was a Sunday evening. I ordered the Tuscan CHicken salad - hubby got the Bacon CHeddar Chicken Sandwich. Our entrees came out in a descent time. HOWEVER, my salad had a very sad amount of chicken on it and I couldn't see ANY other fixings. I was afraid they had brought someone else's order to the table as the sad little "salad" looking at me was not what I ordered. Pretty quickly a manager (?) came to the table and questioned my questioning. I explained my dilemma as he tried to point out the piece of tomato (TINY little cube) and an alleged sliver of cuke, etc. I think he realized how ridiculous the salad was and took it away. Someone else came to ask about the problem - and ME, who ordinarily NEVER sends food back - explained that I seriously thought it was the wrong order as it looked nothing like it should. I was told they would remake the order. My poor hubby sat there with his sandwich and fries getting cold to wait about the 15 min it took to get the "new" salad back. WHen it returned it looked the Tuscan salad should have - but on steroids. NOT COMPLAINING! My guess is they started with sad salad #1 and added in regular Tuscan salad to it to total up to MONSTER SALAD. Needless to say it was DELICIOUS and FILLING. I only wish they would have brought out something acceptable first - AND now I hope all my future salads at Applebees live up the legend that was that evening. Hubby said his meal was good. He didn't complain about the service or it being cold by the time he ate. I think he wanted us to make the best of the situation. If it had been HIS food, he would not have been so nice. However, he knows that I never gripe and that if I had known my question would have raised such a kerfuffle, I would have kept my mouth shut and eaten the darn sad salad #1.

We pulled in here for a quick lunch on our way out to Tennessee. Sierra was our server, super sweet and on top of drinks. Knew the menu, asked on appetizers and drinks, told us the specials. Mr Henson manager seated us, seemed nervous. Bathrooms older but clean, and restaurant updated and very clean. We had lunch about 1pm, nothing fancy just a plain cheeseburger and fries, and tenders and fries. My food brought to me first but his right after. Hot food was hot and really great burger, made the right way, not a pre formed patty either. This is how Applebee's used to be in our area, and it was nice to see good service and great food still exists!

Clean and well staffed. Waitress Abby was terrific. Fiesta Lime Chicken was pretty good. Had better at other Applebee's. Rice was sooo dry almost crispy. Pick didn't taste overly fresh or flavorful. Dinner salad was good sized and fresh. Would have gave 3 stRs but waitress was excellent.

They have amazing appetizers, & some good entrees. Not the best staff but the food makes up for it.

Background: I have to travel around the area for work (sports writing, local newspaper). Often I end up finishing work late at night and want a snack; sometimes need to write up a story....and more often than I care, I end up at the closest Mickie Ds. So to find someplace like this is extra special. This place had very friendly staff, even though it seemed pretty busy (Friday night around 10 pm-- prime time for a bar. Good, extensive menu, althouguh I just tried one app, which came out quick and was very good. Decent selection of craft beers on draft. Nice music from a solo musician-- not too loud or obnoxious (I will say, it's a shame folks don't CLAP more when a guy is doing pretty decent live music!). You have to go through this area to know how rare it is to find such a gem open late on a Friday night, without being a loud booze-only bar.

It was Saturday evening and the bar and restaurant were very busy. Sports on every TV and everyone having a good time. We ordered nachos and fried green tomatoes. Both were very good. But be aware, the nachos are excellent and the serving beyond big. The half serving is enough for four as an appetizer. Bottom line...you can't go wrong stopping in at Sidelines.

While they're mostly known for drinks and food, they occasionally host live music. And then there's the name confusion: Bubba's Brews is now known as Boathouse at 33, but I feel like the Bubba's name is going to stick around a while for locals... as "Boathouse at 33" doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same way. Now let's get to the food severed at Bubba's, which is more like pub or bar food--wings, nachos, tacos, etc. I recommend the wings, fried catfish tacos, and nachos. All of these are great. On the weekends, Bubba's serves pit-smoked meats like brisket and grilled wings (these are different than the fried wing which are on their menu every day). The day I tried the brisket, it was just okay (it just needed to be smoked a bit more so it would be more tender). But I know briskets can be hard to perfect, so maybe it was just an off day. I am, however, eager to try the smoked wings, but it seems I keep visiting on the days they don't have them. As for the staff at Bubba's, they are all fantastic! Everyone is attentive and super nice! Final thoughts: If you're heading over to Norris Lake for a vacation (or if you live nearby), be sure to check this place out!

We walk into Spankie's (questionable name, but really good apparently according to locals haha), and the bartender suggests 19th Hole ("Really good burgers!" He yells as we walk out, excited to have found SOMEwhere local to eat that was open late. We get there and are greeted by the friendly bartender, who immediately waves us three girls over to the bar, and says sit wherever with the best news of the night: "We serve food until 2am." Even though he was the only person running the bar and booths, we had fast, friendly service the whole night. And the food! I had the Smokehouse burger, with house made sauce (unfortunately they don't sell it in bottles; I asked) and fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. The other two girls had the wings and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was on point. We'll definitely be back if we make our way back to Cookeville!

I don't know how this is in tiny little Corbin, KY but I'm SO glad we found it via Yelp, & yet…read moreagain the great reviews were very trustworthy. We stopped in on a Saturday evening right after opening time, hoping we would be able to get a table. The place was mostly empty, but WOW was it gorgeous! So much decor, and not a speck of dust or cobwebs on any of it. Looked like a victorian era mansion inside the dining room they took us to. It was all autumnal decor, so beautiful! The place is probably an old department store or something with many different rooms, each with its own decor theme; lots of space for special events. Some families were seated in private rooms. I walked through several of the other rooms and they were all decorated for different holidays, Christmas & Halloween mostly. Although those rooms had a lot of kitschy decor, they were also very beautiful. There were giant carved fireplace mantles, grand pianos, a hall of mirrors, and gorgeous carved wood antique furnishings everywhere. We were coming from a family reunion & a trip to Cumberland Falls, so I feared we would be underdressed (and felt we were a bit), but the staff was very welcoming and we had no problem being seated. Several other diners were dressed very well, and others were wearing jeans and t-shirts. It appears to be a very popular date restaurant, and it would definitely be a great romantic spot for a special dinner. The server was quick, efficient and friendly and made good suggestions. We ordered side salads which arrived quickly and were beautifully arranged. Super fresh ingredients, and delicious dressings. My husband kept exclaiming it was the nicest side salad he's had anywhere, so he was apparently pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken piccata, and my unadventurous husband had a burger. He liked his burger, and ate most of it. My chicken piccata was excellent! The generously sized two pieces of chicken were a bit thicker than usual for piccata, but they were cooked perfectly. Crispy exterior, and very tender and flavorful on the inside. The sauce was a bit thicker than normal piccata sauce but man was it good, and they did not skimp on the capers, which is my favorite part of the dish! It was served over a delicious rice blend which went so well with the sauce and served as a nice foil to the rich saltiness of the chicken. I ate way more of it than I even intended to and was stuffed. As much as we ate for dinner, unbelievably, we forced room for dessert and got an amazingly good chocolate cream cake of some sort which had thick layers of whipped filling between layers of chocolate cake, all topped with ganache. It was like a homemade hostess ding-dong, except way more moist. We ate most of it, despite our full bellies. My husband also raved about this cake, which is unusual because he usually hates things with whipped fillings, but he loved the cake & we had it eaten in no time. Finally, when it was time to pay the bill, it was actually a lot more reasonable than many other places that aren't half as good. Server did a great job. We were super happy with our dinner experience, and both of us agreed that Seasons is a major blessing for downtown Corbin. We will definitely stop in again without hesitation. We walked off our meal by meandering around town in the beautiful evening weather, ending up a block or two away at the pinball museum, so we had a fun date night, all in downtown Corbin!
