BF and I ate there last week. I do not eat ribs, but he does. We saw an ad the night before about all you can eat ribs and maybe shrimp, etc. etc.. so we went to Colonial Heights Sunday for some errands, we decided to stop for lunch at the colonial Heights location. When he ordered the all you can eat ribs and shrimp they told him they no longer had that on the menu. If there is an ad on TV still advertising it shouldn't they honor it????? Otherwise, the food that we did order was delicious The bartender/server was right on time with everything. The margaritas and beer were delicious as always. The bathrooms were mostly clean could've used a little touchup but for the most part for a public bathroom they're always on point. I did tell BF that the next time we see that ad we're taking a video of it and taking it to the manager just to show what they're still advertising lol we'll see what happens read more

The whole operation of apple bees was an absolute disgrace. Not to fault the bartender being he was new. However he needed more assistance with handling the bar. To many workers who had clocked out hanging around the bar and talking loud with no regards to other patrons. The worse experience eating at an Apple bees. read more

Got the Prime Rib Dipper, food came out barely any of the au jus was so water and gave me so little I could barely dip it. The bread was stale or something since half of it was rock hard. Bartender never checked on me once I got my food and was After getting the bartender's attention about my order, it took over 25 minutes for the kitchen to remake it. While I waited, she spent most of her time chatting with another customer and barely acknowledged me. She never checked on me, never asked if I wanted another beer after I finished mine, and I had to ask another server for help. The remade food finally came out on the same stale bread, and the service never improved. When I asked for the check, I put my card down within a minute, but she left it sitting there for over five minutes even after seeing it and left to go hide somewhere. I ended up asking another server to find her so they could run my card and even tried to get her but she never came. I can forgive a messed-up food order since that's not always the server's fault, but the service was unacceptable from start to finish. Had to tip on the side because his training was taking all his tips but not training smh sink or swim deal. Drinks took along time to come out. Other customers food came out wrong. After all the calling and emailing I did to complain to cooperate, nothing was done. I have an Applebees gift card that I dread even attempting to use. My great community, I know my last review of the pho 60 cafe was a little more on the harsh side. But i have to be honest with you guys with my reviews. Having said that, im here to tell you guys that this applebees is a nice chill food spot. Got myself the three cheese chicken penne, really nice dish. I suggest this spot to anyone who maybe isnt looking to get anything to fancy, more so looking for some chill, a nice spot to go to a little later bc they close at midnight. I came in with my husband and 83 year old mother. The waiter at the door asked how many was in the party, we responded and they just started talking amongst themselves never acknowledging us until we asked if we needed to seat ourselves. Note that there were plenty of tables available. Finally, we were seated in a booth that had not been cleaned and where the seat was ripped. We asked to be moved and then was moved to high top seats that was difficult for my mother to sit in. No one waited on us. We finally asked who was going to assist us and no one wanted to help. This visit was horrible!! Place reeked like marijuana coming from staff, from entry to the back. Was only 2 other customers inside when we came at 9pm. Thought that was weird, but ordered appetizers and meal. Appetizer looked like it had been cooked 5 times when it came and was gross! Waited for food that came out, and it cold and rubbery. Whole meal practically went to trash. Then, on the service....waitress rushed to take our order....with empty restaurant, brought out old cold dry food, and then the couple times she came back to table she was behind our booth talking. Thought it was another customer...but no, she was talking to us. I thought it was so odd and unprofessional. Atmosphere....same old tired and a little dated drab look. Music was loud in dining area, as well as ridiculously loud music coming from kitchen...different songs playing loud at same time made me want to leave before the food! Double fried garlic parmesan cheese chicken wings. crispy and delicious. First time eating them and was surprised how tasty they really were. They actually shredded fresh parmesan cheese on top of the garlic fried wings. As I said 1st time eating in Applebee's. Been ordering carry out twice. Had wings carry outs for super bowl. Went the third time and they were out of them. So I just have to keep calling to find out if they are back. Plus, it a cozy place to eat on the premises and I would say generous portions with food orders. Check them out. It probably will be out often if people like them like I did. read more

Yes, it is Applebee's and granted we ordered delivery, but there was nothing wrong with anything we ordered. First, they packed the order correctly right down to ensuring all the sauces were there. That in itself is a feat! Pretzel bread, riblets, chicken fajita roll up, and donuts (think zeppole) - the standout being the donuts. Outrageous. Requires IMMEDIATE inspection. I emailed the regional manager, Mr. Spence, MSPence@potomacdining.com, but received no response, so here we go. Visited January 2nd, at about 6pm. 1. We were initially seated next to the host at a "booth" which was too way small, and we literally could not fit in the seats (table was way too close to the benches). We moved ourselves. 2. The appetizer wasn't served with any plates or utensils, we asked the host who was within earshot to bring us a couple, but he only brought us one and did not know what we even meant at first, we made it work. 3. My wife's Broccoli Chicken Alfredo was served undercooked (raw chicken). Even the patrons at the table across from us noticed it and made a comment about it. We alerted our waiter to the issue. How was this even served?? 4. Our waiter didn't bring my wife new utensils for the new broccoli chicken alfredo, and we asked him about it the next time he was within earshot. Unfortunately, the restaurant was "out of utensils" (at 6:15pm ish?) and my Wife ate her meal with a plastic fork and spoon. 5. During the middle of our meal, the host started sweeping next to our table. I guess we were an inconvenience for him to be there. We had to ask multiple other servers for things after waiting for 30 min just to be asked what we want to drink. We also weren't given forks for our salads and had to get them. I recently had dinner here on a Sunday and went with the All You Can Eat riblets deal. I haven't been to an Applebee's in years, and I was trying very hard to decide on what to order. A bit conflicted about my cravings. My buddy and I both got the Riblets deal, which also comes with fries. Fries were delicious, but the riblets had way too much sauce. We had several rounds of the riblets and fries, but was disappointed with the amount of fries that were brought with it each time. I'd assume that they would want to fill the plate with fries, in order to give less ribs. I'm not very familiar with Applebee's, but I'm not a fan of those little devices on each table that allows for you to process payment on your own. These devices really take away from the interaction between the server and customers. Our server was friendly, but aside from dropping off our food we didn't get to speak to her much. Maybe it's the area? i don't know.... maybe I'm expecting too much. I'm from California so things may be different there. Located near the mall with plenty of parking. Came here after the wait at another restaurant was over 45 minutes. I think this is the third time I've been here in the past nine months. I won't be coming back after my experience tonight. There was only one couple ahead of us so the wait to get a table was only maybe five minutes. The waiter took about ten minutes to greet us. Luckily we knew our order so we placed it at the same time as drinks. The drinks came about 10-15 minutes to get our sodas. That was the only time the waiter asked about our drinks. No refills for us. Sad considering they are $3. Part of my meal was a house salad with ranch. About 30 minutes after ordering the waiter came back and told they were out of ranch. I told him blue cheese would be fine. About 30 minutes after that our food finally came. The food itself was ok. Warm and fresh looking. I never got my salad. After eating I flagged the waiter down to get our check and reminded him to take the salad off the check. He said ok and didn't even bother to apologize for forgetting it. Not sure what he was doing as he had only four tables and he was in the back 95% of the time. Usually my wife and I tip a minimum of 25%, and usually closer to 30%. She a former server during college so we always take care of our waiters. Tonight I left a 6% tip. Ideally I would have given it to the cooks directly. This was the sorriest service I've experienced in years. This Applebee's location has lost my future business. read more

I went to Applebee's to celebrate a middle school football game with my friend and her son. He wanted to go to Applebee's to get some post-game food. He said that Applebee's was a great place to get his fill of wings and things. When we got there, we got seated quickly. The restaurant was full of patrons awaiting the first official game of the 2015 NFL season. They ordered their drinks and food in anticipation of the game starting. We ordered the 2 for $20 and I got the riblet platter and my little buddy got the chicken penne. He also got some boneless wings as his appetizer. His mother ordered several appetizers as her meal. I have to say that it took a long time for it to come out. We ordered our meals and the food came out cold. We couldn't understand why the food was cold and the restaurant was so empty. I guess the night was a comedy of errors. The storm came through and the DirecTV went out. The patrons who came in to watch the game were UPSET!! The I had to send my food back because it was cold and tasteless. I ordered the chicken fingers platter and it was HORRIBLE. I won't be back for a while. After working a long shift at VSU, I went to this Applebees on Friday night, approximately at 11:25 pm, and sat at the bar. I ordered the grilled chicken with pasta and broccoli along with a bottled beer. The food was good but..., I received it at 12:10 am. There wasn't crowded and it appeared most of the customers were served previously. There was one gentlemen that entered after I did and sat at the bar just to my left. He ordered, received his meal and left before I received my meal. Seriously, I believe my ticket was forgotten about and put in as an after thought. I was here on 8/31. The server had a blue tongue piercing and was clearly new. She was acting like a moron that was out in the world that day for the first time. She made us repeat our orders 3 times and when I pointed out that she should write it down because it would be easier, she said I don't have my pad ‍. She forgot to bring my friend's drink for half an hour and he had to ask for it again. Because of the tongue piercing no one could understand what she was saying, so we had to ask what every time and repeat ourselves 2-3 times with each interaction. She was checking IDs in a weird way to see that they are "real". My wings came out cold, after waiting an hour for the food. Mind you I had wings and loaded fries, not a complicated order. She didn't know the menu, and even after pointing to the item on the menu she still didn't understand what we wanted. It was ridiculous. After we were seated I went to the restroom and the first thing I thought to myself was; " this bathroom is filthy and disgusting", oh no, hope this isn't a reflection of the kitchen. I ordered the shrimp dinner and asked to replace the fries with a house salad, wife had the chicken Alfredo. My shrimp were oddly shaped, you know kind of like a chicken nugget is to chicken. I was supposed to get coleslaw with the dinner but that didn't come out with my meal and at that point I really didn't feel like asking for it. The "top cook" as he refers to himself as, always comes out the kitchen with an attitude every 30 minutes saying "they got him fuck up" and request a double shot of Hennessy from the bartender whom I will keep anonymous, that actually pours the shots from him while he's obviously on the clock. Next problem, they never know who ordered food at the bar so it's like playing hot potato with your food until it reaching you. The bourbon chicken and shrimp is always cooked horribly. They burnt the bun to the hamburger and took an additional 15 minutes to bring another one. Too many people running around with no guidance or management. Got the "unlimited" chicken tenders and waited almost a half hour for the first ones. There were five tiny little slivers of chicken and some lukewarm fries. They won't bring you more than one sauce either. Finished the "Chicken" and I use this term lightly because it was mostly fried breading and asked for a refill. It took almost 30 more minutes for 3 additional tiny little slivers of chicken. This is the second attempt at eating here since when I tried eating here Friday there were 8 empty tables and the hostess told me they couldn't seat me because the waitresses weren't notified they would have extra guests and they didn't want the waitresses to feel pressured or get behind and the kitchen couldn't keep up with new orders. Granted the manager on duty did correct this issue but I had already left. Goof manager but overall terrible restaurant. No one in their right mind should pay 15$ for less than what equates to a 4 piece McDonald's chicken McNuggets. Update: waited another 30 minutes and it did r get any better. On November 29th, my party of 7 had a terrible experience at Applebee's. We arrived at the restaurant at different times, with the first member of our party arriving at 7:50 pm and informing the host that we had a party of 7. However, when the rest of us arrived at around 8:20 pm, our table was not ready. Eventually, at 8:25 pm, we were seated at a table for 6, despite informing the host of our party size. We had to ask a staff member to combine tables to accommodate all of us. Once seated, our server, Najah J., arrived at the table with her Apple AirPods in her ear. She took my order first at around 8:30 pm, which included a kids burger, a kids Alfredo berry, and a hot lava cake. The rest of my party was not ready to order yet. The server returned to the table at 8:47 pm to take the rest of the party's orders. However, my food did not arrive until around 9:20 pm. When it did, my oldest daughter's Alfredo was cold, as was the broccoli. My youngest daughter's hamburger bun was burnt, and her fries were cold. The plate was so hot that I had to supervise her to ensure she didn't touch it. The server took so long to return to the table that my kids started eating their food without her. When the server finally returned to drop off the rest of the party's food, she walked off without asking how our food was or if we needed anything else. I had to stop her and ask for silverware and voice my complaint about the food. She brought a remake of the food 20 minutes later. When we received the bill, the server had charged me for the remake. I explained that it should have been comped off, and she adjusted the bill accordingly. I paid using Apple Pay through the website. As my party got up to leave, the server stopped us at the door, still on a personal call with her AirPods in her ear and phone in the other. She claimed that she didn't receive full payment for the party. I showed her a screenshot of my bank notification, which showed that I had been charged $37.87. I asked to speak to a manager due to the server's aggressive behavior. The manager came up to the front, where we were standing, and I explained our frustrations. However, all she said was, "Sorry, let me look into your check and see if the payment went through." Meanwhile, the server sat at the table, continuing her phone call. I told the manager that I would just pay again and cash app him my portion, as I was ready to leave and not leave a tip. I mentioned that if I had been charged twice, I would dispute it with my bank later. I no longer wanted to be in Applebee's. The server looked up at me and sarcastically asked if I had a horrible experience. I confirmed that I did and began explaining all the issues with the food and service. The manager interrupted me and accused me of trying to walk out without paying. She did nothing to improve the situation or offer any solutions. The manager's lack of action and the disrespectful behavior of the employees continued until we walked out the door. I can call myself a regular here since I come here often for happy hour or grab a quick bite to eat with my Mom. Honestly their service is very hit or miss. I've had experiences were the service was horrible and then there have been days the service was on point. My recent experience was pretty decent. My mom and I ordered the 2 for $25 which comes with an appetizer and 2 entrees. We ordered the house salad which was excellent. My entree was the 4cheese Mac & Cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders and my mom had the Bourbon street Chicken and Shrimp. Both meals were cooked well done and fresh. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. Our waiter was pleasant and provided us with excellent customer service. This experience was much better then the last one we had were the waitress was rude and constantly messed up our order. This was a sign of relief.
