Eat in is ok but if you order take out, check your order. My order was wrong and after handing the bag to them to check it took 15 mins for them to make what was missing while the other food got cold. They didn't even have it on the bread as advertised. So I paid over $90 dollars my family could eat cold food. read more

No beef for the nachos, as a meal, wasn't informed for 20 minutes after the order was made. Cheese wasn't melted when we received them. Serving size was much smaller than other locations. Very few trips to check on the table, drinks were empty. Probably won't be back for a while. read more

Don't even think about going here! First of all, bring a coat! It was as cold inside as it was outside. Mgr said "they don't like us messing with the thermostat!" I said look around... everyone is wearing their coat. We waited for over 1/2 hour for our food! When it came, STONE COLD! Sent it back. Mind you we both got the AYCE. While we waited for the replacement, I started reading the reviews on this particular Applebees, OMG, food poising the week before on the same items we got! Maybe it was not just cold but not fully cooked!? Round 2 was delivered by the mgr. Was told it was the "bottom of pot, should be better"!? By now we were asking each other why we were still there! The mgr came back with the bill and informed us she had taken $8 off the billl. I asked her to look around and see what customers she did have (maybe 20) still had their coats on! It took me a few days to do this review and just as the other review both of us had horrible reaction to the food if you know what I mean! read more

We ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad and the sampler appetizer. The buffalo chicken bites tasted as if they had been leftover from the day before, and heated up in the microwave. There was very little sauce on them. We ate one and couldn't tolerate the rest. The cheese sticks were good, the spinach dip had a film on top as if it had set for awhile before they brought it out. My salad had mainly cabbage in it instead of lettuce, it was OK but this use to my favorite. Our waitress was slow, we had to ask numerous times for things before she brought them. It wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure what the issue was. This use to be our favorite place, but it seems to have gone downhill. We were disappointed. read more

If you have a food allergy or a child with a food allergy, the staff and management have gone out of their way to make sure that your order falls in the safe food category. They actually had a physical food allergy menu (listing all the allergens in the food) and not directing you to some back page on a website that is difficult to navigate. And just out of curiosity, I did try to locate the food allergy intonation on the Applebees website. It was the best and most thorough out of them all. Say what you will about the place that has outlasted Bennigans and is outpacing Chili's for that classic 90's nostalgia restaurant, but they have impressed me with this visit. read more

The food is mediocre food which is expected, however the issues with this place far outweigh anything else. Firstly it's freezing inside with cold air blasting on you at all times. Also we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get the check and wait 10 minutes to get silverware. The staff spend a lot of time talking even the manager. read more

The food was below par to say the least. The pasta was so overcooked when i tried to pick it up that it just turned into mush. My mothers chicken was so burnt she couldn't cut through it all the way. the service was terrible. our waitress acted as if we were burdening her when asking for things like silverware or napkins. Half the staff stood and talked at the bar instead of helping customers, including the manager. Doubt, we'll be going back to this location anytime soon! read more

Usually, I'd rate this 3, but considering all the modifications they had to do for my family, it's a 4 star review! So we come in a group of 5. We are all very tired and hungry. We have two senior citizens in the group and they were very accommodating. There were also some vegetarians in my group as well. So we come in and get seated. Our server is a really nice guy and he tried very hard with our table! We were a hard table considering we had so many modifications. So it was difficult at first because there was no sandwich that was vegetarian and All the sandwiches were not worth it if you took away the meat. We were kind of annoyed that the server first told us it would be an upcharge... Thank goodness he went and talked with his manager and they were able to give us a great deal!! I will give this place one thing, the manager and service definitely know good customer service. Even though the restaurant lost a tiny bit of money in giving my family a cheaper sandwich, it worked out better for them because we were much happier and we gave them a bigger tip. We will also come back! So everyone orders and ofcourse, the orders get messed up a little bit. But it was fixed eventually... They again were very apologetic and kind to us. I got the chicken tortilla soup and I really really liked it!! I was super surprised but it was fantastic!!! Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the onion rings are definitely worth it!! They give you such big portions!! Only downside, they were a little slow, but it wasn't awful. And they made a few mistakes that really shouldn't have been made, that's why they get a 4 instead of a 5. read more

The reviews and low score is not a fluke or a lie..the food is not very good..we all left a lot of it behind..steak was over seasoned and fries bland..the Mac and cheese was the best part..it was okay..cheese sticks where fresh and nobody finished their meal..the waitress was friendly and attentive so that was the plus...the either need to revamp their menu or re-energize their cook..because food is very blah! read more

Waiters are slow and sloppy. Sat waiting forever for food and when it's brought out, there's always something that's wrong with it, whether it be cold or over cooked. Was very disappointed in our meal last night 01/30/22 my bf and i wanted 12oz ribeyes cooked medium well and onion rings and mashed potatoes for the sides. We waited over an hour for the food (we only ordered an appetizer and a hamburger with fries) to come before going to check. Even after we went to get the waitress it took 10 minutes for our fries to get there. When the food came there was a piece of raw chicken in our chips. The manager came over 10 minutes later and just said "I don't know how that got in there". We were given new chips but they only discounted by 50%. read more

I used to not dislike Applebee's, but after two bad experiences, both in West Virginia, I am writing off this chain for good. It's a shame, because their menu is a little more innovative than the standard chain, but the execution is awful. First, the food. I ordered a grilled sandwich with roast beef, cheese, and bacon. It was cooked well enough, but it was so salty that I could barely eat it. I love salt, but this sandwich was ridiculous. I think they crusted it in salt, washed it off, salted it again, cooked it, and salted it one more time for good measure. It was just bad. The fries were fine, just your standard fries. My son had the chicken tenders, which tasted okay, but the portion size was a little small. He isn't a huge eater, but I felt like it could have been larger. Oh, and the food took way too long to come out. Our orders were not that complicated. As far as the service goes, it started out great. But towards the middle of the meal, our waiter just disappeared. I ordered a second beer, and watched how it sat on the bar for at least 5 minutes before he brought it to me. Sad, lonely, beer. Anyhow, there are way better choices out there, don't waste your time on this hot mess. read more

If you could rate without a star, I would have. We had a party of four, it took over an hour to get our food. As the server walked by, we were asked if we were going to do desert. We had not even gotten our meal. A couple of minutes later, the server came out with our food, stating it had just come up. No, everything was totally cold. One person ate maybe a fifth of his and two of us took ours home to heat up. Never again, whatever happened to good food when eating out? read more

This was the worst dining experience that I've ever had. 45 minute wait on food. Steak had a horrible odor. Visit this establishment on Christmas Eve. They weren't busy at all but service was still slow. The one thing that really stood out for me and I wished I had tabbed a pic was that their menus said they had been sanitized for our safety yet a big glob of some sort of brown substance was just below that statement. May want to avoid this location until they get better at sanitization. read more

Gross, gross, double icky, blah. I'm not quite sure if there are many Yelpers in Charleston, but if you happen to read this...please don't bother stopping here. If you want the same kind of food, make your way across the street to O'Charleys, atleast there you get rolls. Now, Applebees in itself isn't a restaurant I'm a fan of. I don't tend to frequent massive chains unless the food is something I crave. However, this establishment was just horrid. It took ages to get our food out, and let's just discuss what came out when it finally did: I visited here with my best friend and her mother, and we both ordered the Veggie Pizza (appetizer section) and her mom ordered the steak. Veggie Pizza: A soupy, goopy mess! YUCK!! STAY FAR AWAY! You couldn't even eat it without a spoon. It was horrendous. The manager came out after clearly noticing we didn't like it, and explained that because it is made on a flour tortilla, rather than actual crust, it turns out like that. Really? How can this even be on the menu? Let alone as something to share as an appetizer. You couldn't even cut or hold the thing! It literally had to be eaten like icecream! IT'S PIZZA, for Christ's sake! Steak, mashed potatoes, Veggies: First of all, an additional 4.00 for a side salad? That's usually free with an entree. Her mom thought the food was actually good, until as soon as we exited the door. She proceeded to get sick before we even left the parking lot! Bad/old steak? Probably! Because she even gets it overly well done when cooked! They did remove the pizzas from our bill, which was gracious...but I will never be back to an Applebees again. read more

It's not fair to restaurants on Yelp when people only review them when they weren't satisfied, I try to break that trend. Went to Applebee's the other day just before dinner rush & ordered the Bourbon Street steak. It's one of my favorite meals out of any restaurant and Applebee's always gets it right every time. Service was good, everybody's meal was good, & appetizers came out very quickly. I've eaten at this particular Applebee's maybe 3-4 times, service may vary but the meals are always fantastic. read more

This Applebee's was located close to my hotel which is why I chose it. I was seated very quickly, but it took the server a while to show up. They were not busy. I ordered the new option to pick 2 for dinner. I chose the steak with Vidalia onion and shrimp scampi. The steak had good flavor, but was way over cooked. The scampi had zucchini that was so hard I couldn't pick it up with my fork. I doubt I would give this location another try. read more

App and meals were all good and fresh, service was friendly and on top of our needs. I worked in the bar/rest business for many years and the reason I didn't do 5 stars is because it was not busy enough to have as many tables that needed bussed and the kitchen was slow getting orders out. I'll tell you what. This is the 2nd time I have been here to Applebee's with a poor experience. Last time, I came and my chicken in the chicken Parmesan was raw. Instead of being replaced, it was taken off. I left hungry. Last night I came again and received the fish and chips. I wasn't fawn of the fish so I said I didn't like it. Still very willing to pay and just get something else, I wasn't offered and only $5 was taken off. $5!!! And no replacement. I'm sick of Applebee's not having the quality service they used to have. What's so hard about replacing a meal? I'm willing to give you my money and you can't even have a server offer a replacement. Just a discount on the check. I'm there to EAT. This review is not for Yelpers but rather the owners. Shut it down. Just give up, close it and make room for a restaurant that cares about its customer. 40 minute wait at curbside and yes we were there at the specified time.
